I strode past the lockers and into my first subject which was Math. I was quite upset with this new schedule, though. I mean who would be joyous starting their class with Math subject?

Some mathlethes wouldn't mind. But what about others? Or me, perhaps? I had been thinking about this too much and hadn't focused on my steps because with a blink of an eye, I bumped into someone.

Don't let it be a tree, please. I lifted my head up and saw Mr. Stone, a fifty one-year-old man which was our professor in Math.

"Ms. White, are you alright?" He asked which made me let out a nod in response. "Shouldn't you be in class now?"

"Well, I should be but I bumped into y..." I suddenly stopped, before adding an excuse.

Crap! Crap!

"Tree... earlier."

Mr. Stone suddenly laughed with his adams apple bobbing up and down his throat. Am I safe?

"Good one, Ms. White... C-"

What?!

"But sir, I..." I protested,

"Get in!" Mr. Stone scowled, motioning his head to the right where the room was.

With my shoulders down and openly frustrated look, I silently walked inside and spotted Hailey on her usual seat.

Hello, Monday.

"He gave you C-?" Hailey questioned for sixth times since we got out from our class.

She dropped her bag on the table as we took a sit on the cafeteria for lunch.

I never was an acer but I swear I never am a failure too. A C-? It's only a grade on my character but still, it could pull me down since I'm not good at Math.

"Yeah. Bad luck." I sighed, slumping my face on the cold stainless table.

"What a downer for a luck."

I sighed, "Like I said..."

"Hi guys!" Sandra waved, pulling out a small smile while sitting down beside me.

She dropped her star wars inspired bag with a loud thud on the table causing me to flinched my head up. Her bag weighted tons and you were not gonna believe it if I told you that it was filled with books she borrows from the grumpy mademoiselle from the library.

"Hey Sandra." Hailey and I greeted in unison.

Sandra gave us a small smile, "So... I received a text yesterday."

She took out her crossword puzzle book from the front pocket of her bag, separated on the other enormous books she carries with her.

Message? I eyed Hailey, frozen on my spot. Did she actually invite Sandra?

Hailey tried making a face while I tried to read it. But then, after not getting much on it, I resigned myself from it and breathed out an answer to Sandra instead. "Oh.."

Absolute awkwardness...

"Well, how's your summer?" I asked, slightly tilting my head to face her, changing the subject.

"It was good. I applied as a volunteer on a charity, home for special kids." Sandra smiled, glancing at me before she gets back to crossing out words on the thin brown sheet of page.

"That's really good." I smiled back while glimpsing over to Hailey.

"Yeah well, I'm starving. Let's go have our lunch." Sandra stood up, letting her pencil roll off her fingers.

"How about I stay here to occupy the table since Torry isn't here yet, then you guys go fetch me a lunch?" I suggested, since something between the two had to be settled. Besides, Hailey could take care of it.

Sandra nodded, taking her wallet from her bag, "Sure."

Hailey whispered an okay as they made their way to the counter. I tapped on my phone, swiping my screen left and right as I skimmed through my apps, waiting for them to come back.

"Nikki!" Someone shrieked, as it occupied the seat in front of me.

I lifted my head up to see the person and grinned, "Torry!"

Torry Filston, an american-french girl with a natural oceanic blue eyes and wavy brunette hair. We made friends with her last school year, the same time she transferred to Riverside High. It obviously was just only Hailey and me at first, before we approached her already digging up foods with Sandra. They actually both sat on the very table me and my best friend, messed up to call our own. Since Hailey thought, they seemed cool enough to stay on an ugly table, we decided to make friends with them as well.

"Gosh, I miss you! How's your summer, by the way?" She exclaimed joyfully.

"Nothing special. How about yours?" I asked, smiling.

She started with a hum, "Well, I roamed around Europe with my friends like old times, and went back in France to spend some time with my family."

"Aww, that's so cool! I wish I could roam around United States on one summer time though."

"I'm sure you will, and if you do, don't forget to take me with you." Torry lightly chuckled, while unzipping her bag.

Suddenly, Hailey approached us with a chirp. "Torry! Where are my chocolates?"

As a response to Hailey, Torry giggles before she contracted her shoulders to express uncertainty.

"Wait, what is that?" Hailey pointed at her after she puts the tray down on the table, sitting down beside me. "Don't answer me with a shrug, Torry. You promised me chocolates, remember?"

"Exactly, when?" Torry chuckled, while she took her spoon and fork.

Hailey groaned, "Nevermind."

"Hi there, Torry... By the way, do you know how's Professor Victorina? I overheard Principal Brown saying she's on her labor?" Sandra, soon joined in with her tray, asking Torry about their Spanish professor.

"Professor Victorina on labor, already? Isn't she a little early on her due date?" Hailey joined the conversation.

I nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I surmise it's two weeks earlier."

"Well, I haven't really gotten much about her, but I do know that her husband almost had a heart attack after knowing that the doctors had to perform a cesarean operation."

"Oh, I do remember Professor Victorina saying her husband is a nervous sort of person, that he's completely thrown by anything unexpected. But, I never thought he would be that nervous." Hailey pin pointed.

Sandra sighed, "I hope everything goes well, though."

"Same here." Torry agreed, as she grabbed her lunch box from her bag.

She quoted once, that she never trusted foods coming from the cafeteria, because it could be unhealthy, and as to that, she would rather take granola bars from the vending machine.

Hailey and Sandra already ate half of the food on their tray, while I was just about to start eating until a crumpled paper hits me at the back of my head. I know for such it was a paper because it felt like it.

"Hey!" I cried out, jerking my head around as I tried to search the person responsible for this, but not one of them looks guilty enough.

"Where the hell did that come from?" Hailey questioned as she looked at the crumpled paper on the floor, bending down to pick it up.

"Did someone notice who threw it?" Torry asked.

Sandra shook her head, "I don't think someone did."

"Let's read what's inside. It could be a love letter or something." Hailey shrugged, uncrampling the paper.

I tried to peek, "Well?"

"Are you actually hoping it's a love letter?" Hailey chuckled, folding the paper to hide what was inside.

"I'm just curious, not hoping..."

Hailey grinned before focusing her eyes on the paper, "It's... blank?"

"What? But, something is written inside." Torry said, facing the paper upside down.

"Yes, that's what's in it... It's blank. See?" Hailey passed the paper to Torry.

"Probably came from a random kid fooling around." Hailey shrugged while Torry threw it to the nearest bin after getting back from eating.

"Okay.. This salad is gross. I can't eat this." Sandra cringed, while pushing the half eaten food on the tray away from her.

Torry shuddered from the look of it and quoted, "Don't trust foods from the cafeteria."

"It's not that bad." Hailey stated as she chowed down every piece of it. She's never a health conscious. I thought as I shook my head.

"It's greasy, Hailey." I opined, taking bits of the salad with a fork.

"Duck!" Someone inside the cafeteria hollered.

I saw almost everyone near us looked around in response.

But where is the duck then? I thought after I felt my head throbbed.

I soon realized it wasn't a duck, after I got hit by a, "football?" I uttered, seeing the oval ball rolled on the floor.

Wait, who would even play football inside the cafeteria?

A/N: Hey everyone. So I hope you enjoyed reading each chapters as much as how I do while writing em! :)

Sooooooooooo who do you think would be playing football inside the freakin cafeteria, mhmm??
