Eli's POV

"I won't let you fall."

Those were my words.

Mine. No one else's.

Mine.

And I said them to the person who was the most special to me.

And it hit me. What that mystery word was. The word that describes my undying feelings towards her.

Love.

I love her.

I love Rift.

The moment I realized this, I pulled her closer than before. She was shocked at first, but she went along with it. I knew one thing as we started skating.

I love this girl. I would live for her and die for her. I won't let anyone take her from me. No one.

She was my new purpose. I didn't care about emotions anymore. All I cared about now is just her. She snapped me out of my thought with her smile. I made a silent promise to myself.

I will never let you fall. Because I have already fallen for you.

Rift's POV

He's so close.

We were ice skating and he held me close. Like he was afraid I would leave at any second. As the night passed we were skating until our hearts were content . Soon night had fallen and it was quiet, we decided that we'd call it a day and just sat by a fire trying to raise my body-temperature. He wasn't cold because him being the Firstborn of Ice, and I expected as much. "Hey." He called out all of a sudden. He then asked, "You still cold?" As if on cue my body shivered. He moved closer than he already was and put his arm around my shoulders. He pulled me close to the point where there was no space in between us. I could feel his breath on my neck as he looks down at me. "Better?" He asks. I quietly nod. He just smiles at me and I can feel as though my face was on fire. I look away so he doesn't notice and continues to hold me tight. I try to start up a conversation to change the subject.

"Hey Eli.....um will you be with the others when it happens tomorrow?" I ask looking into his icy eyes. He nods before speaking.

"Of course. I'm always here for you like you're here for me." He smiles once more at me before turning serious.

"Eli?" I ask concerned at the sudden change of atmosphere.

"No......get a hold of yourself." I hear him muttering as he looks away.

"Eli?" I ask again moving to look into his eyes.

"You're not helping...." He said trying to avoid eye contact.

"Helping what?" I ask confused.

"Ugh! Rift you have to forgive me but I just can't take it!" Eli says struggling a little.

"Take w-" I try to say before I was cut off. Eli had grabbed my shoulders and was supporting me so I wouldn't fall. I would have if he wasn't. I couldn't even comprehend what was happening so I fell silent. H-how could t-this have h-happened? I could do nothing but accept the fact that...

Eli was kissing me.

It was such a shock I couldn't move. All I could do is feel the heat of his love. His passion. My body was on fire and I was running out of breath. How? How?! I thought that only Dante would be able to rise my temperature. And it was when he was smiling! Eli is different...more serious....I guess. He finally lets me go and separates from me. It was reluctant, I could tell. He turned a DEEP shade of red. He looked away embarrassed about what he had done. "S-s-s-sorry. I-I-I c-couldn't control m-myself." As soon as he said that I touch my lips. I can still feel it. When I reposition myself I make sure to sit with no distance whatsoever between us. For the rest I the night we sat in silence before I drifted off to sleep.

Eli's POV

Ugh! I'm so stupid! And happy. But stupid! She was laying on my shoulder sleeping softly. I could still feel that sensation on my lips. I don't know what got into me. All I know is that face she made cause me to snap. I was holding in those feelings for so long. I just lost control. She'll never look at me the same again. I smile before drifting off to sleep.

Aphmau's POV (During the Day)

Rift is missing.

We have no idea where she is and it's all my fault. MY fault. I let her go alone. I left her unprotected. Even though she was injured. Now she's gone. I'm blaming myself as Katelyn walks towards me. "Don't worry Aphmau we'll find her." Katelyn reassures me.

"I hope so. The last time someone went missing we went to war! What if it happens again?! We have no idea who Rift is and she's gone injured and-" I'm talking a mile a minute and Katelyn cuts me off.

"APHMAU! CALM DOWN! I told you we will figure it out! We will NOT go to war! If we do we'll win! We have the Phoenix Alliance." Katelyn calms me down.

"You're right. You're right. We'll be perfectly fine. We'll find Rift and we won't go to war! Yeah. Yeah! Good plan!" I say in between breaths.

"APHMAU! COME QUICK! OK'HASIS SHIP INBOUND!" Nicole yells running towards me. "Laurence, Dante, and Garroth are already there! Hurry!"

We run to the docks and we see the enormous ship sitting there. It was waving the Ok'hasis flag. "Oh no." I say as I see the demonic-santanic-evil-good for nothing-pig stealing (A/N Come on! He's evil he's had to have stolen a pig at one point right?)-murderer.

Zane

"What do you want Zane?!" I growl at him.

"Interesting question Lord Aphmau. I'm actually looking for a lady. And I believe you know her." Zane says sarcastically.

"Who could that possibly be?"

"Her name is Rift? Ring a bell? Oh and by the way if she isn't returned to me by tomorrow night,

I'll burn Phoenix Drop to the ground."
