Hey guys! So I really hope you guys are enjoying the story so far. So I don't have any announcements. So.......INTO THE STORY!!!!!

Rift's POV

Yesterday was pretty crazy. After Thymes left, Garroth found me outside of the gates. He had ran up to me and hugged me very tight. After he realized what he had done, he quickly let me go and chided me for going off alone. We then spent the rest of the day just chatting about nothing in the guard tower. After his shift was over, Laurence came to pick me up.

"Ready to go Rift? If it's alright with you we can spend time wherever you want to be all day. Within reason." Laurence clarifies.

"Really? Cool. Is there a lake nearby, or a river? That would be amazing." I say rather hopeful. I need to just get a feel of her presence. I really need to just calm down. I haven't been able to sleep at all lately. She would always hound me to actually get some sleep every now and then. Considering I was always in the Void, I would have never slept. She being a worrywart she is, she would get worried about me and lock me out of my OWN temple and make me sleep in her sanctuary. Honestly I knew she cared a lot. I miss her telling me to go to sleep.

"Hm? I don't believe there is one within the walls, but there is always the ocean. Lady Katelyn's ship is docked there. So even with your situation, I would still have to go with you." Laurence states as he takes my hand and leads me to the docks.

"Isn't there a more private place with an ocean?" I ask curiously.

"Yes there is, follow me and I shall reveal all." Laurence says jokingly.

"Alright. Lead the way The Great Casanova." I reply following him.

"Hey! You're right! But hey!" He says jokingly picking me up. I blush a bright pink. "As my job as The Great Casanova, I am to sweep all the most beautiful ladies off their feet!" Laurence says in a funny business-like voice.

"How many other girls have you swept off their feet?" I ask quite curious.

"Well Lady Aphmau wouldn't let me get away with it so I guess you're the only lucky lady." Laurence says matter-of-factly. After that we arrive at a more private beach.

"Wow! This place is so pretty! It has SO much water!" I say actually surprised. The most amount of water I've seen in one place is actually a spring of water within one of the temples.

"You act surprised. Have you never seen the ocean?" Laurence asks searching my face for a response.

"Well I didn't really knew the ocean existed. I've never seen it before. And I never really had any parents to take me to see it." I confide before shedding a tear.

"What are you doing? You just keep letting yourself become weaker and weaker! We need to talk NOW!" A voice in my head goes off. I'm slowly being pulled into the darkness.

What? No! I don't want another lecture! I don't want to talk to you! "Laurence, help." I manage to say before being devoured by the darkness.

Laurence's POV (Ooh! New person who isn't a Dragonskin!)

"Laurence help." That's all I hear from Rift before she collapses.

"Rift?! RIFT?! GARROTH, APHMAU, ANYONE?! HELP QUICK!" I shout as loud as I can. Nononononononono! I can't lose her! I gave up on Aphmau for you! Don't leave me! Please! I don't want to lose another light in my life! As I think this I hear Garroth running at top speed directly towards us.

"Laurence what happened?! Why were you yelling?! What's wrong with her?!" Garroth fires questions at me left and right.

"I don't know! One minute we were talking about the ocean and the next thing I know she's asking for my help and passes out! Garroth what should we do?!" I ask frantically.

"Get her to Lord Aphmau's house. I'll talk to her. All we can do is wait for her to wake up." Garroth says heading towards Lady Aphmau's house.

"Alright." Please Irene, let her be ok. I think as I carry her to Lady Aphmau's house.

Rift's POV

"Gosh! When will you take responsibility and accept your role?! You can't remain as a useless human girl forever! You need to-" She starts off but I quickly finish her statement.

"'Unlock my full potential.' You think I don't know this already?! You've got on my nerves all my life about it! And I don't want to live up to it! Maybe I want to be normal for a change!" I yell right back at the purple dragon-like figure.

"Just when did you actually start listening to that hot-head of a fool?! He knows nothing, just like Magmus." She contradicts.

"The only reason you say that is because you're jealous! That I have a chance at being a normal human!" I yell at the creature as it gets closer.

"You listen to me VERY closely, girl! You WILL reunite with the others. And you WILL return to your temple like a good little Dragonskin. Got it? No ifs ands or buts about it. You will do as I say and nothing more, nothing less. You obey I and I ALONE! I made you! You have to do as I say! If you do not, I can take your life as easily as I gave it. Understand?!" The figure roars at me. I feel my knees give out. She's beaten me again. I cannot disobey or she will eradicate me. She can take my life as easily as she can give it. Words she uses to beat me into submission every time. As much as I want to remain in Phoenix Drop, I cannot, for I have to serve a purpose in this world. And being normal is not it. The others face the same conflict as I. So I know I am not alone. My heart hurts at the thought of crossing the path of Phoenix Drop, and not for the reason I wish. "Well girl? Do you understand now?" It breathes on me as it says these words. I reply with a defeated,

"Yes m'lady Twilight. Your wish is my command. And nothing shall veer me from the path you set."
