Rift's POV

As if he were answering my prayers, I see him in my mind. He's smiling, telling me everything is going to be okay. He rarely smiles. I remember he only did that around me. I don't know why though. Not only that he's sensitive. He rarely shows any emotion.

???'s POV

I can hear her. She needs help. To control her emotions. I need to get to her soon. Not only because she needs me, but because she helps me FEEL. Something I was always incapable of doing on my own. Feeling emotion. Except for when I was with her. Her smile lights up my emptiness. When she's sad, I'm sad. I'm furious at whoever hurt her. She makes me feel so many things I've never felt before. Usually before I became aware of these feelings, I was incapable of caring. I tried, but I didn't understand anything we all used to do. Like playing in the spring. It's just a bunch of water in one place. Woohoo. Everyone would tell me to lighten up, but I couldn't! It was just impossible. I believe it has to with my element. When you're a Dragonskin, your personality is decided upon element. Well it's that way for the Firstborns. Not everyone was like that. But when she and I would spend time alone, I would actually FEEL things. She makes me happy when she's happy. Somehow when she cries, it makes me want to cry. Emotions are weird. I don't understand them. I just know how to keep them in check. I need to at least help her. With that I send her an image from the past of when we were together. Not separated. I send an audio as well. Don't worry Rift I'm coming. In Avaland's name I won't lose you.

Rift's POV

"Rift! Please open up! We need to see you! C'mon! At least let us know if you're dead or not!" Garroth yells through the door.

"I'm not dead! You should know that! I'm fine! I don't want to be treated like a baby anymore! I can take care of myself!" I yell right back at him.

"Rift please." Laurence pleads.

"Fine! I'll come out." I say in defeat. I move everything out of the door way and open it. "Happy?" I ask sarcastically.

"Yes now come on. Lady Aphmau and Lady Katelyn want to ask you a few questions about the weather lately." Garroth says as he heads out of my house with Laurence and I close behind.

"Why me? I had nothing to do with it!" I say defensively.

"Lady Katelyn isn't so sure. She thinks because you disappeared before the two natural disasters happened, that you had something to do with them." Laurence explains.

"That's crazy!" I say as we arrive at Lady Aphmau's house.

"Just don't say anything that you will regret." Garroth whispers before we go in.

"You! What did you do?! How did you start two natural disasters?! Why did you stop them?!" Lady Katelyn fires assumptions one after another.

"Okay. First off, I had nothing to do with it! Second, I was passed out!" I say in my defense.

"That proves nothing!" Katelyn retorts.

"Enough!" Aphmau cuts in. "Katelyn stop making assumptions! Rift, you need to calm down! We need to work together to stop the blizzard that's coming." Aphmau chides.

"What?! There's a blizzard?! Why didn't you tell me?!" I ask, expecting an answer from someone in particular. He has to have something to do with this! I know it! I pay close attention to the body language of the two women and the two men. Come on Rift. You can do this. Just focus and see who's lying. I wait for an answer as the room goes silent.

"Rift, do you have anything to do with it?" Aphmau asks me.

"No. That's impossible. I can't control the weather." I answer. As long as it doesn't have anything to do with the sun. I'm not telling a complete lie.

"See Katelyn, I told you." Aphmau says.

"She could be lying." Katelyn retorts.

"And she can be telling the truth. Rift you can go. Garroth, Laurence, both of you go with her." Aphmau orders.

"Yes m'lady." Garroth and Laurence reply unanimously.

Great. Now I have to lose both of them. But how? I try to come up with a plan to escape when I realize, it's night. I can use that against them. "Guys, I'm tired. I'm gonna turn in for the night." I say with a yawn. I had adopted human speech patterns quite quickly if I do say so myself.

"Alright. We'll guard your house while you sleep." Laurence confirms.

"Cool." I say before heading in. It's all good. I can just sneak out the window. I walk into my bedroom and lock the door. I put some pillows to act as a bed dummy. I then quietly open my window and put on of my legs out. Okay think this through Rift. You're on the second floor and you have no other way to get out of the house in detected. I try to come up with a plan as I remember. Wait. I'm the girl of darkness! I can just teleport! Thank you Twilight for picking the Enderman! I teleport to the ground and that takes a good amount of my energy. Gosh. Now I remember why I never do that. I use the shadows to my advantage and successfully sneak away. Okay. Got away. Now. Where are you? I think before reaching the walls. Dang it! I forgot they actually had walls. I decide to swim around it and to much avail I get soaked. I keep pushing farther into the woods until I start to get colder than before. I decide to call out. "Hello? Are you out there? Please I need your help." I yell waiting for a response.

"You need to be more careful. Who knows what could be out here." I hear a quiet voice chide me from behind.

Before I could react fast enough, a pair of hands surround my arms and waist, catching me off guard. "Let me go!" I say in between struggles. He just lifts me up and puts his face close to my ear.

"You're angry. You aren't very good at this are you?" I hear the voice ask and I suddenly realize who it is.

"Eli?"

Hey guys! Ha! Take that high school! You can't stop me from posting! Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh sorry! I'm just gloating in high school's face right now. So! That's all the characters I'm introducing for now. I'm going to post a filler chapter next then we can get into the fun stuff. I will explain what I'm talking about later. If you're THAT interested then message me.
