Melody's POV

The limousine pulls in front of the house, and the driver opens the door and waits for us to get in.

I look around the property and notice the guards around us before climbing into the car.

Suri looks at me as I enter the car. "Is everything okay, Keegan?"

"Yes," I open the cooler and pull three bottles out. Handing one to Suri and Luna. "It's been a long time since I've had a girls' day out."

Luna opens her bottle of water. "The only time I've had a girls' day out was with Mom and Suri. That was three years ago."

"What did you do?"

Suri smiled at her sister. "Mom took us bowling."

Luna shakes her head. "I was terrible at it. The ball kept going in the gutter. While Suri kept getting either spares or strikes."

"The music was the best part of the day. I spent most of the time there dancing."

Looking out the window, I watch as we head towards the spa.

"I haven't been bowling since I was fifteen. When my sister begged me to take her, it was fun until some kid dropped a ball on her foot. My toe was fractured, and I was in a boot for six weeks."

"Ouch," Luna says. "I don't want to think about how much pain you were in when that happened."

"I was in a lot of pain. The workers at the bowling place called for an ambulance, and I was taken to the nearest hospital to get treated."

"Where was your Mom?"

"At work. I had to call Mom out of the office to pick Maggie and me up."

The car stops in front of Blackwood Spa. The driver steps out and opens the door for us.

Luna and Suri quickly get out of the car and enter the store.

Climbing out of the car, I see a grey car parked on the side of the road.

A man is sitting in the driver's seat with a phone to his ear and a cigarette in his mouth.

Another guy hides behind trash cans, but I can't determine who he is.

The bodyguards step out of the black SUV and wait for me to enter the spa.

Opening the door, I walk into Blackwood's Spa. The walls are cream-coloured, and soft music plays in the room.

Suri and Luna walk over to the counter and tell the girls behind the counter that we have an appointment.

The door to the spa opens, and I see Clive enter the room. He moves towards me and whispers, "There's something going on outside. If anything happens, protect yourself and the girls. I'm not sure who the target is."

"Thanks for the heads up. I will protect them."

I watch as Clive walks out the door.

One of the girls behind the counter steps out and says. "Follow me to the waiting room. I have some papers for you to fill out."

The girl leads us through a corridor that has timber walls. She gives us folders with pens.

We read through the papers before signing them.

The girl returns and takes the paperwork from us. She looks at us and says. "Through those doors are the change rooms. Get changed, and then you can go into the spa."

"Thanks," Luna, Suri, and I walk into the change rooms.

I put on my two-piece swimsuit and exited the room. I put my stuff in the locker, locked it, and put on the dressing gown.

When the girl walks out of the room
They put their stuff into the locker and put on their gowns.

Before heading to the spa, I notice a side door open. I turn towards Luna and Suri and say. "Get back into the change room and lock the door."

Suri looks at me. "Why?"

"I will tell you later." I look at Suri and Luna. "Do you trust me?"

"Yes," Suri closes and locks the door.

I scan the room and say. "You can come out, asshole."

The man stepped out from behind the spa's curtain. He has a sinister look in his eyes. "Look at who we have here. It's the girlfriend of my ex-employee, Hunter Westbrook."

I know this man is Peter Wynn.

Crossing my arms, I look at him and say. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm taking something close to Hunter. If I can't take his business, I will take his girlfriend and sister's. That sounds fair?"

"That's not fair at all. Taking someone's life. That's disgusting, but what should I expect from someone who tried to kill Hunter yesterday? You didn't get away with it then. You sure as hell won't get away with it now."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yes,"

The side door opens, and the guy behind the trash cans enters the room.

These guys are so stupid.

Shaking my head, I say. "Peter Wynn, this isn't your lucky day." Then I point at the other guy. "You're a bodyguard that Zane employed. You're also the Uncle of Peter and Matteo."

The guy's mouth drops open. "How do you know all that?"

"I know more than you expect." Pointing at Peter, I say. "You're here because of the Wynn Group. Did you know your family had a chance to take back the Wynn Group but didn't want it?"

Peter turns towards his uncle. "Is that true?"

The uncle looks his nephew in the eyes, before shrugging and saying. "I don't know if this is true. If it is, we are in trouble for going after innocent people."

Stepping toward them, I say. "It doesn't matter if we're innocent. We were going to cause collateral damage to the family. You two won't be alive by the end of the day."

"How do you know that?" Peter asks.

"Zane and his men have trackers, and the moment I set one off, they were making their way here." Turning my attention to the bodyguard. "Zane won't be happy that he has a mole in his group."

"I'm not a mole." The guy looks at his nephew and says. "I was doing right by my family."

The door opens, and Zane walks in with his
Men and Levi.

Levi moves over to me. "Are you hurt?"

"No, I'm not." Looking at the door to the change room, I say. "I have to get back to Suri and Luna. I can't leave them hiding in the change room all day."

Turning my back on him, I walk over to the door and open it. "It's safe to come out." I lead the girl to the spa, and we get in.

The woman pulls the curtain across, giving us privacy from what's happening outside the spa. "I'll ensure the men are gone when you get out."

"Thanks," I say. Pulling the robe off and stepping into the spa.

On the side of the spa, there is a tray filled with crackers, cheese, chocolate-coated strawberries, and a chocolate each for each of us. Next to that is a glass of juice.

Luna climbs into the spa and moves straight towards the food. "I'm starving," she mumbles.

Suri follows closely behind and says, jokingly. "Are you pregnant?"

The food is halfway to Luna's mouth when she freezes and looks at her sister. "Is that obvious?"

Suri shakes her head and laughs. "I was joking, Luna. However, how white your face is like a ghost's is true. Have you told Mike?"

Luna shakes her head. "I found out a couple of weeks ago."

"Before you two broke up?"

"Yes," she looks away from us. "I'll be three months on Christmas Eve. That's when I want to tell the family. I wanted to get over the first trimester as it's a crucial time."

"I won't say anything," I tell Luna. "Let Mike know before you announce it to the family."

Luna nods. "I have to tell Grandma and Grandpa. They will be happy to have their first Great-Grandchild." She looks at us and says, "The family will expect more Grandkids."

"Hey," I say, holding my hands up. I'm not part of the family."

Suri leans over me and whispers. "Yes, you are. You're the first woman Hunter wanted more than a night with. By the end of the year, the family will accept you into it."

Luna nods. "They will. It's going to be fun having another sister." She moves over to me and hugs me. "We should do something like this more often."

"A girl's day out?" Suri asks Luna.

"Of course," Luna says, with a smile spreading across her face. "Without the drama, though. What was that about?" She refers to what happened before we got into the spa.

Looking at Suri, I ask. "Would it be okay if we told Luna what was happening?"

Suri looks at Luna and says. "Last night, before karaoke, Hunter and Keegan were in a near collision."

"What do you mean by near collision?"

I take over telling the story: "A car was going to crash into ours. With the added security around us, my security team rammed the car, stopping anything from happening to Hunter and me. We found out the guy behind it was Peter Wynn, a former employee of Westbrook. However, he wanted to destroy Hunter and take his company because it's what happened to his family's company."

"Fuck," Luna says. "I didn't think Peter Wynn would do that to my family."

"Sis, how well do you know Peter?"

Luna looks away from us. "Peter spent a lot of time in my office helping me with things and,"

"And what?" Suri asks.

"We had sex a couple of times in the office. Not while I was with Mike."

"Is the baby Mike's or Peter's?"

This conversation is something that I shouldn't be hearing.

"I don't know," Luna admits. "That's the problem with my pregnancy."

"If Peter's the father, he won't get to know about it as he'll be dead within a couple of hours."

Luna's mouth drops open, and then she shakes her head. "How do you know that?"

Looking in her brown eyes, I say. "Peter wanted to hurt your brother, and he did that through us. Any one of us was his target. I got to him before he could get to us."

"Is that why you went after him and told us to stay in the change room?" Suri asks.

"Yes," I grab a strawberry and pop it into my mouth. "I didn't want anything to happen to Luna or you. I didn't trust Peter around you."

"Peter wouldn't have hurt me," Luna says. "He has feelings for me."

"Peter was using you, Luna. He wanted all the information he could get about Hunter, and you gave it to him freely."

Luna shakes her head in denial. "Peter wouldn't do that to me."

Suri places her arm on Luna's shoulder. "I believe Keegan."

Luna shrugs her arm off. "You don't know anything about us. I loved him." She wipes at her face as tears fall. "I can't believe that Peter would do that."

Suri hugs her sister. "You can talk to me when you want. I'll have your back when you need it."

Luna smiles at her sister. "Thanks," she says as she grabs the glass of juice and drinks.

I remain quiet as the siblings continue to talk and leave me out of the conversation.

Standing, I move towards the stairs and climb out. I head to the restroom, where I send a message to Hunter.

Me: Peter and his Uncle have been taken care of.

Hunter: What do you mean?

Me: They followed us to the Spa.

Hunter: Did they hurt you?

Me: No, I sent an alert to Zane, and he came in time to deal with them.
