Falling Hard - 20

Hunter's POV

After dismissing Keegan to clean the Wing, I decided to visit my sister and see how things were going in her Wing. When I entered the door, I typed in the code and stepped inside. The Maids were in their uniforms, cleaning all the surfaces of the Wing. "Where's Suri?"

"In her room," a blonde replies, wiping the skirting board with a duster. "If you need anything, please let us know." She winks at me before swaying her hips as she moves around the room.

That move isn't going to make me go after her. She's not as beautiful as the woman who is cleaning my wing.

Moving towards the hall, I open the last door and see Suri sitting on her bed. She looks up as I close the door. "Are you okay, Suri?"

"Yeah," A smile spreads across her face. "I was thinking about what I'm going to do tomorrow. I was thinking maybe hitting the slopes. Do you want to come?"

"Sure," I sit on the bed beside her. "Are we skiing or snowboarding?"

"Skiing, I'm still not comfortable when it comes to snowboarding. If you want to, you can do that." Suri stands and moves over to her closet. Opening it, she pulls out her skis. At the side, in hot pink lettering, is her name. "Do you remember the competitions that we used to have when we came here?"

"I do." I lean back on the bed. "We'd call Mom when we were on top of the mountain and tell her to start a timer as we raced down the hill. One year, Ayden got injured because he was too busy watching a girl do a backflip from the ramp. Instead of making a sharp turn, he crashed into a tree and fractured his shoulder."

Suri shakes her head. "It didn't deter him from returning to the slopes the next day. Mom called him irresponsible, but he beat you to the finish line that day."

"I went easy on Ayden. This time, I won't be going easy on anyone. While our parents aren't here, we should find someone to time us until they come," I tell Suri.

"We could ask Keegan. For some reason, I feel you'll want her close to you, while we're here." She leaves the skis by the closet and moves over to me. "I'm going to grab something to eat. Do you want anything?"

"Nah," I stand up. "I have a few things to go through before dinner. Keegan and I will be having dinner in my Wing."

Suri shakes her head. "Brother, she's got a target on her back all thanks to Tia, being jealous that you're taking a new girl as your maid. I wasn't expecting something like this to happen when I assigned Keegan to you."

"Keegan can take care of herself." Moving over to the door, I open it. "I will see you at 9 a.m. sharp. Then we will hit the slopes. Tell the others that we'll be going out."

"Okay," Suri follows me out of her Wing. I head towards the West, and she walks to the kitchen.

A redhead is banging on the door to my wing. "Hunter, we need to talk." She keeps slamming the door, expecting me to open it for her.

If I were in there, I wouldn't be able to hear the commotion she's causing.

"Can I help you?" She turns around, and I see that it's Tia. "What do you want, Tia?"

Tia comes charging at me. "I can't work for Ayden." She moves her hair to the side and shows me a hickey that's on her neck. "All he wants is to have sex. I don't want to be treated like that while I'm here. Please, let me work in your Wing?" Kneeling in front of me. "Please, Hunter."

"No," my voice is firm. "You've got your assignment. If you're not happy, move to the kitchen. You can move to the floor when my parents join us for Christmas. How does that sound?"

"Aaah, why do you hate me this much? I thought you were different from your siblings, but now I'm starting to see that you're exactly like them. Why do you want one person working in your Wing? What does she have that I don't?"

"I want people I trust working for me. With you, there's an ulterior motive, and that's you wanting to initiate having sex. I won't allow that type of behaviour behind my closed doors."

"Are you going to fuck, that new girl?" She yells. "I know something is going on between you, because the moment you walked into the house, your eyes haven't left her."

"Get to work, Tia. I'm not going to deal with your bullshit. I have things to do, and you're wasting too much time." I cover the code box and type in the code. Once the door opens, I enter the room. "Either go back to the North Wing or the kitchen. I don't care which one. Just leave me the hell alone. I won't deal with the drama you want to cause." With that, I close the door in the face.

Keegan's back is turned to me as she wipes the leather couch with a dry cloth. She doesn't turn towards me as she hums a song. One that I recognise as Melody Stryker's.

Entering my room, I grab my laptop and walk onto the decking. I turn the heater on and go through the emails. I reply to the important ones, and then I do a quick conference call with Matteo, who is running the office while I'm away.

The screen rings a couple of times before Matteo answers. His face pops up on the screen.  "Hey, Boss. How's the break going?"

"Good," I turn towards my room and see Keegan making my bed. "There's a woman I like that's working here."

"Really?" A smile spreads across his face. "Damn, I thought you were going to stay single for the rest of your life. Tell me all about the woman that's making you smile."

"Her name is Keegan Jennings. She lives in Los Angeles, and I offered her a ride here on my private plane, and she accepted. This woman is different from those I have been around, but there's also something familiar about her, and I can't figure it out."

"If she's keeping secrets, she will reveal them in time. Living in Los Angeles can be too much for some people."

"Thanks, I will keep that in mind. So, what's been going on in the office?"

"Boss, it hasn't been an entire day that you've missed work, and it's the first thing you want to talk about?"

"Yes, it is. So, tell me. What's happened?"

"Sofia, came by the office. She wants to know when you will take her out again. It's been three months since she heard from you."

"I don't want her near the office, Matteo. Everyone I've dated shouldn't be allowed to enter the building. They will cause drama, and that's the last thing I have time to deal with."

"Okay, Sir." Matteo flips through some papers on the desk. A few things need your signature on them. I will email them to you. The Cole Group wants to do a conference call tomorrow. Give me a time, and I will make sure that happens."

"The Cole Group they are in the French Alps, right?"

"Yes, I'll send you the address if you want to meet them instead." He types something on the screen, and then the email icon with Matteo's name on it pops up.

They are fifteen minutes away from where we are staying. "Tell them that I will see them tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. It will be better for us to have this meeting face to face."

"Why later in the day? I'm used to you doing everything in the morning and leaving the afternoon free."

A smile spreads across my face. "I will be hitting the slopes with my siblings. I'm not going to cancel our plans for anything."

"What does Suri think about you working?"

"Suri doesn't care. As long as I have fun, that's all that matters to her. I'm taking two weeks off over Christmas and New Year's." We talk briefly before we end the call, and I go back through the emails until Keegan opens the door.

"Mr Westbrook. I've finished cleaning the Wing."

Why do I hate it when she calls me that?

"Good," I look up from my laptop. "I want you to shower and dress nicely for dinner. I will have someone bring us food while you get ready. When we're in the privacy of my Wing, could you call me Hunter? None of that Mr. Westbrook bullshit."

"Yes, Sir." She salutes me before walking out of the room.

Smart ass.

Grabbing my phone, I call the kitchen and wait for someone to answer. The phone rings a couple of times before it is picked up.

Voice: Hello, this is Chef Dean.

Me: It's Hunter. I want to eat in my wing tonight. Can you bring two plates to me? Also, I would like you to personally take care of my requests and not give the job to someone else.

Dean: Yes, Sir. The food will be ready in fifteen minutes.

Me: Thanks, Dean.

After hanging up the phone, I pack away the laptop and phone. I put everything on the nightstand, and then I head to the bathroom to have a quick shower.

After the shower, I put on a suit and then walked towards the door. Opening it, I saw Dean walking towards me with a trolley. It had our meals on it. "Thanks, Dean. Did you get rid of all the nuts around the place?"

"I did. Who is allergic to nuts? I want to ensure that if something ends up in the food, I know how to take care of it if the worst-case scenario happens?"

Turning towards my room. "Keegan, my maid is allergic to nuts. If you've done your job right, we won't have to worry about anything happening to her. Unless someone out there wants to hurt her, then we have a problem."

"As long as Tia doesn't know about the allergy, we should be fine. When you finish the meal, leave the trolley outside, and I will pick it up later tonight. Have a good night, Mr. Westbrook." Dean turns around and heads back towards the kitchen.

Bringing the trolley in, I take it towards the decking, set the plates on the table, and wait for Keegan to walk out the door. It doesn't take long before she wears a long-sleeved dress that shows off her figure.

Damn, she's so beautiful.

My cock begins to stir as I look at the beautiful woman in front of me. "Keegan," I pull her chair out and wait for her to sit. Once she was seated, I pushed the chair in.

"Thanks, Hunter." Keegan pulls the cover off the dish, and a steak with mashed potatoes, carrots and peas is on the plate. Pepper steak sauce is on it. "This smells amazing."

A smile spreads across my face. "Yes, it does." I start cutting up the steak. "What do you have planned for tomorrow?"

Keegan looks towards the slopes and smiles. "I was thinking about going snowboarding. I have to hire some equipment."

There are a couple of snowboards in my closet. Just take the one you want and keep it in your room. One day, I will go to the slopes with you, and you can show me your moves."
