Yaoyorozu P.O.V
Me and Todoroki walked down the hallways of the castle hallways to the ballroom, which I was excited to see. I herd from other people who have gone to Masked Balls here, that it is amazing and beautiful.
I have been invited to Masked Balls here, but I never went, cause I'm to shy and feel like if I did go, I would just be hanging in a corner trying not to have a panic attack if anyone asked me to dance.
I was stuck in my own thoughts, that I didn't even notice Todoroki stopped, and I accidentally ran into him. I walked into him and nearly feel back before catching my balance again. "S-sorry" I apologised and bowed, felling embarrassed. I'm supposed to be a princess and I keep messing up in front of one of the son of one of the most powerful kingdom's.
I felt Todoroki place a hand on my shoulder. "It's okay, I know you were just lost in thought and didn't notice" he told me, surprising me. How did he know that? I looked up to him. "How did you know? " I asked him. "Cause I do it myself sometimes, when I'm reading a really good book, I forget where I'm going and run into someone or something. It's kind of silly, isn't it" he asked me.
"No no not at all" I reassured him. He nodded and looked to the doors in front of us. "This is the ballroom" Todoroki told me as he pushed open the large oak door's. I gasped at the sight and walked inside.
It was just like how everyone described it. The room had many window's that nearly reached the ceiling. The ceiling was held up by golden pillars, and the ceiling had pictures and painting on them, almost like a church. At the end of the room was two stairs that merged into one to lead to a small platform and to another door, which I guess lead to a different room.
I just walked around and took in the sight, my shows hitting against the marble floor. I turned to Todoroki. "This place looks amazing!'' I exclaimed to him. "I guess it is. I have danced in this room at many balls. Have you ever danced at a Ball? " Todoroki asked me. I instantly frowned.
"No its haven't" I told him. "Why is that?" He asked me. I clenched my fist as I held my dress, trying to not go control my emotion of being embarrassed once again. "Well I have never..em...learned..how to..dance" I told him as I looked down. He's probably thinking what kind of princess doesn't know how to dance? I didn't hear him say anything, but could hear him walking over to me, stopping a few feet away from me.
"Would you like me to teach you?" He asked me. I looked up to him swiftly with shock and surprise. "W-what?" I asked him, not sure if I herd him correctly. "I can teach you to dance if you want. Would you like that?" He asked me again. I was kind of taken back. I thought he would find it funny that I didn't know something so simple like dancing, but instead, he's offering to help me?
"S-sure. I would appreciate that" I replied shyly, averting my eye's a bit. Yet again, I felt kind of embarrassed to be thought something so simple and basic.
"Okay let's start off simple. Pretend we are at a Ball, and I offer you a dance" Todoroki told me as he bowed down.
"May I have this dance" he asked me, and I couldn't help but smile. "Yes indeed" I replied as I take his hand and he stands up straight. "Okay now, you put your free hand on my shoulder and I put my free hand on your waist, okay" he told me. I nodded and I placed my hand on his shoulder, and he placed his on my waist, which I tensed up at a bit, not use to the feeling. I guess he noticed, so he didn't say anything until I relaxed a few moments later.
"Okay, for you, you take two steps backwards, and I take two steps forward" Todoroki told me. I nodded and looked down at my feet, to make see where I was stepping. As he said, I toll two steps back, and he took two steps forward. "Okay now, you are going to take a step to your right, and I take a step to my left" he instructed and we did just that. "See, your already getting the hang of it already" he told me, making me smile.
"Thanks. Now what's next" I asked him. "Well we do the same one more time. Two steps back, one step right" he told me. "Okay, two steps back, one step right" I told myself as we did it again.
"See your already got it. Now you do it the other way. Now you do it two steps forward, and one step left and do that two times" Todoroki explained to me.
I nodded and did as he said. Not long afterwards, we were dancing. "See you got it, your a natural already" Todoroki complemented me. "Thank you" I replied with a smile, truly grateful. We continue to do this and we were dancing around the room. It was fun; dancing and having some small talk.
Todoroki P.O.V
We were scoring around the room as we danced. Usually when I dance with other girl's, they either don't talk at all, or they only talk about themselves or talk about me,and I hated it. Yaoyorozu on the other hand, wasn't like that. I watched he as she whispered the steps to herself, hoping not to mess up. I found it kind of cute, how she was consecrating on her steps and kept mumbling to herself.
Finally after a few minutes, she looked up at me. "Thank you so much Todoroki. I really appreciate you doing this for me and teaching me to dance" Yaoyorozu told me with her smile across her face. All of a sudden, I felt my face go a bit warm and I'm not sure why. Was it getting sick? No I couldn't be, not all of a sudden and I never get sick in the first place, so it wouldn't make sense.
"Yeah no problem" I replied as we slowed down and stopped. I looked towards the window's and seen that the sun was almost gone and it was getting dark outside. How long were we dancing for. "I should show you to your room now" I told Yaoyorozu as I let go of her and stepped back. I could see slit bit of disappointment on her face, but she covered it up quickly.
Was she upset that we stopped?
I got rid of the thought as we walked to the door to leave the ballroom, Yaoyorozu following close behind me. When we exited the room, I closed the doors behind me. "Well that was really fun" Yaoyorozu spoke, mostly to herself. "Okay follow me" I told her as we walked away from the ballroom and up to the bedroom level of the castle, which was the top level.
We walked down the hallways and I stopped at the door. Again, Yaoyorozu ran into me and this time, fell onto the ground. I turned around and offered a hand. "Are you okay?" I asked her. "Yeah I'm fine. I really need to stop doing that and actually pay attention to where I'm going" Yaoyorozu spoke as she took my hand and I helped her up.
"Em this will be your bedroom for the next few days" I told her as I opened the door and showed her the room. It was a simple guest bedroom. A large bed, a wardrobe, a shelf of books, a night stand and a window with a small balcony outside. "Thank you Todoroki" Yaoyorozu thanked me as she yawned a bit.
"I'm guessing your tired, I'll leave you to get settled in then. If you are looking for me, my bedroom is down the hall and down the left, last door" I told her as I began walking away. "Okay. Thanks again Todoroki, see you in the morning" Yaoyorozu told me as she entered her guest room and closed the door behind her, shutting it tightly.
I made my way into my own bedroom, and looked out the window as u walked. I could see the sky had gotten much darker and the clouds were also a dark grey. "Looks like it's to going to rain tonight" I muttered to myself as I continued to my room, finally reaching my destination. I opened the door to my room and entered, got ready for bed and grabbed a book.
I sat on bed for around a hour, just reading my book, until I could hear the heavy rain hitting against my window. I turned my head and seen the rain pouring down and wind blowing wildly. It's probably a storm.
I decided that I should probably get to bed, since it's probably around 11 or 12 at night now. With that, I turned my bedside light off and went to sleep, the rain as background noise and eventually putting me to sleep.
* * *
I woke up to the sound of knocking at my bedroom door. "Who would be up at this time?" I thought to myself. I yawned and rubbed my eye's, reaching over and turning on my bedside like. The sudden brightness hurt my eye's and I looked away and covered my eye's from the light.
I rubbed them once again. I threw the covers off of me and stood up and stretched my arm. I looked out my window, the rain still pouring down and the wind was still blowing, with the added sound of thunder. "So it's a thunder storm?" I thought, my thoughts broken when I herd another knock at my door.
"I'm coming I'm coming" I mumbled as I walked over to the door and opened it. I expected to see my mother to check if I was okay, or a servant to return something of mine, but it was neither of them. Instead standing at my door was Yaoyorozu. Her hair was down from her height ponytail, she wore a nightdress and she held a cushion in her arms, and she looked exhausted.
"Yaoyorozu? What are you doing up this late?" I asked her as I wiped the sleep out of my eye's again. "I-I'm so sorry for waking you up at this time. I-I was just scared of the thunder and couldn't get to sleep and I didn't know where else to go. Since you told me where your bedroom was, I just came here" Yaoyorozu explained to me.
I sighed. "Would you like to come in?" I asked her. "N-no I wouldn't want to intruded. I just wanted to ask if there was any other bedroom that maybe wasn't as loud as my one" Yaoyorozu asked. "No not really. The quietest bedroom's in the castle are my parent's room and my room" I told her. "Oh okay. I'll go back to my room then" Yaoyorozu told me as she turned.
I could tell she didn't want to go back and looked a bit scared. I sighed and grabbed her hand from leaving. "I said it's okay. You can sleep in here for the night. Okay?" I told her. "You sure it's okay?" Yaoyorozu asked, which I nodded to. She nodded. "Okay then" she said as I let go of her hand and she walked into my room.
When she did, I closed the door behind her and watched as she looked around. "So where will I sleep?" She asked me. "In my bed" I told her. "Then where will you sleep?" She asked me with confusion. "In my bed" I replied simply. "What? Don't you think that's kind of wired? Us sleeping in the same bed?" She asked me. To be honest, I was still half asleep and didn't really think about things at that moment.
"It's fine" I said as I walked over to my bed and hoped back to bed. Yaoyorozu stood there for a moment before slowly walking over, lifting the covers and sitting down in the bed. I could tell she looked uncomfortable about the situation. "Look, I won't tell anybody about this okay? If anyone finds out, I'll just tell them that you just got really scared and came in here to talk, and eventually fell asleep" I told her.
"Okay" Yaoyorozu whispered as she laid down and stared at the ceiling. After a few moments, she had her back to be and looking out the window. I was nearly asleep when Yaoyorozu spoke. "I'm sorry for being a bit rude" she told me. "How are you being rude?" I asked her as I turned my head to her. "Well I woke up up in the middle of the night, and when you offered me to sleep in here, I turned it down until you convinced me" Yaoyorozu explained.
"Basically, I feel like I'm intruding and should have stayed in my own room" Yaoyorozu told me. "Your not intruding at all" I said as I sat up and looked to her. "Your just scared and that's totally fine, it's normal. I remember when I was younger, I was terrified of thunder storms and my mom would stay with me the entire night" I told Yaoyorozu.
"Yeah I guess your right. I just feel a bit awkward that's all, sleeping in the bed with a guy I have only known for a day" Yaoyorozu told me with a chuckle and then yawned. "Well goodnight" I told her as I reached over to the light and turned it off. I snuggled into my pillow, and soon feel asleep.
