♢Chapter 28♢

Todoroki sat in the large cell, leaning against the wall and looking down at his hands, that were bound together in handcuffs that covered his hand, trapping them in a steal metal box. The only sound that could be heard throughout the lower deck was the sound of the waves outside, footsteps above them, and Bakugou walking back and forth, while swearing to himself under his breath.

Todoroki sighed and looked across to the other cell where Bakugou was.

"Going back and forth and worrying isn't going to help us get out of here" Todoroki told Bakugou as he crossed his arms. Bakugou glared at Todoroki dangerously.

"Shut the fuck up bastard. My friend is hurt, and for all I know, being tortured while we're fucking stuck down here doing nothing!" Bakugou yelled as he kicked the wall with his boot in anger and frustration. "And the only thing we're doing is sitting around, doing absolutely fucking nothing!".

Todoroki only gave a saddened look as he looked away from the angry male across from his cell. "If we try to fight back or escape, my father will definitely kill your friend with no mercy" Todoroki explained to Bakugou. The ash blond haired boy let out a yell of frustration, as he kicked the wall.

He knew his father and his tactics. He remembered that when he was younger, his father would return from a battle with a bunch of his allies and men, and have a feast to celebrate their victory. However, when his father looses a fight, that's when Todoroki became scared.

He would be rushed into his room by his mother, who would clearly be scared as her hands would shake. She would usher him towards his closet, and in the back, was a small secret space. She would tell him to hide there until she returns, and his mother would cover the secret space with some boxes.

He would then hear his father yelling his mother's name, and swearing words about her and the battle. Todoroki would hear his mother leaving his room and, well, he didn't like to remember what happens after that.

Late at night, his mother would return, with bruises and gashes covering her, mostly her arms and face, and how he would just hug her, hoping to make her feel batter. Now that he looked back at it, it probably either didn't help at all, or helped a lot for her.

Todoroki became saddened at the thought of his mother. His mother suffered for so long, and it was all because of Endeavour. Who knows what would her life would have been like if she never did marry him. She would probably still be free, free as a bird, travelling the world with her family like she always wanted to.

Todoroki leaned his head back against the wooden wall, and closed his eye's. He might as well sleep now while he had the chance. He wanted to save his energy in case anything were to happen. As Todoroki closed his eye's, a few different thoughts came to his mind.

What was Yaoyorozu doing?

* * *

Uraraka and Midoriya watched as Yaoyorozu was walking back and forth, looking down at the ground and biting her nails in worry. If she kept up like this, she was going to create a trench with how much she was walking back and forth.

"Y-Yaoyorozu, please came down" Midoriya spoke nervously, trying to comfort the girl a little.
"Calm down? Calm down!? Todoroki, Bakugou and Kirishima were shot out of the sky and are now hostages and prisoners!" Yaoyorozu yelled in anger and frustration as she went back to walking back and forth.

She was beyond worried. She was terrified. She would never forgive herself if anything happened to the three of them. This was ridiculous. Why isn't anyone doing anything!?

"Yaoyorozu, what Midoriya meant was that worrying isn't going to help. We need to think about what to do" Uraraka spoke, hoping that she worded her words better then Midoriya did.
Yaoyorozu let out a sigh.

"I know. I'm just overwhelming with emotions, so I apologise for my outbursts" Yaoyorozu apologised as she stopped, and turned back to the two other teens. "What is King All Might and the others doing anyways?" Yaoyorozu questioned.

"I-I'm not sure. I tried to go into the council room where there is a meeting, but I wasn't allowed access" Midoriya explained to the two girl's. "Then they must be talking about something really important if they won't even let you inside" Uraraka spoke as she looked to the other two. "What now?".

"We try and listen to what they are saying. We need to know what they are planing" Yaoyorozu spoke with determination as she looked to Uraraka.
"Do you have any books that may held up overhear what they are talking about inside?".

"Wait, I have an idea" Midoriya suddenly exclaimed, catching the two girls attention.

"Ever since I got here, I found secret passageways throughout the castle. I know one that can help us get close enough to hear what's going on" Midoriya explained to the girls. "Secret passageways? That's awesome, why haven't you told be before Midoriya!?" Uraraka exclaimed with a pout, feeling left out on the fun.

Midoriya chuckled nervously as he scratched the back of his head. "S-sorry Uraraka, but I wanted to keep them secret" Midoriya apologised to the brown haired, brown eyed girl.

"Okay, Midoriya, tell us how we get inside" Yaoyorozu asked the boy calmly. "W-well, have you two ever been in the council room?" Midoriya asked, which the two girls nodded to.

"And how you ever say the small bronze gate things that circle the wall close to the top of the room?" He asked, and again, the two of them nodded.

"W-well the entrance to the passageway leads us to that. The passageway is actually in the stairway up towards Uraraka's library. Out of the 7 paintings on the wall going up, the third one can be swung to the side, and you have to climb into the passage way. It's pretty dark, but one you get to the end of the tunnel, you come to the bronze vent gates that circle the room, and you can look down into the room" Midoriya explained to them.

"Wow, and you found that? How do you find these passageways?" Yaoyorozu questioned the boy curiously.
"Hahahaha eh, that's a secret" Midoriya replied quickly, not wanting to admit he finds these things by accident.

"Alright, then let's go" Yaoyorozu replied as they walked down the hallways towards the stairwell that led up to Uraraka's library. Once they reached the door to the stairwell, Uraraka opened the door, allowing Midoriya to go first, and Yaoyorozu to follow him, leaving Uraraka to close the door and follow the two up the stairs.

The two girls followed Midoriya up the stairs, but Yaoyorozu walked a little slower, her stomach hurting quiet a bit from the stab wound she revised a few days ago. Midoriya then stopped when they came to a painting of the castle when it was being built many years ago.

Midoriya held the frame of the picture, and moved it to the side, only to show a small tunnel, with a little light at the end. "Wow Midoriya, this is so cool" Uraraka spoke with surprise. "Haha yeah, but I didn't make it, I just found it" the green haired boy replied as he allowed Yaoyorozu to crawl into the small passageway first.

The climbed up and crawled slowly into the secret passageways. She was glad she wasn't claustrophobic to much, or this would be terrifying to her. She could hear Uraraka following her, and Midoriya following after the other girl.

As Yaoyorozu crawled deeper into the tunnel, she could see a light, and the sound of a few voices. She must have been getting close.
Soon, she saw something ahead of her. It looked like, a vent? Yaoyorozu got closer, and looked through the opening.

Just like Midoriya told them, they could look down, and see the council room. As Yaoyorozu peered through, she saw more vents lining the wall's. "See anything?". Yaoyorozu looked back, and saw Uraraka and Midoriya behind her. She nodded.

Yaoyorozu turned her attention back towards the room and looked down, only to see a large table,  and people surrounding it, all of them talking and arguing about something.

"We can still fight! Send out our battle ships and take down the main ship!" One man yelled.
"We can't! Three teens are on that ship! We can't afford to destroy the main ship with them still on it!" A woman yelled.
"It's only three lives! We can't afford to not act and fight cause three lives are at stake! Think about all the people on this island! 673 people are on this island as we speak! If we don't do something, or get food here somehow, we will all die of starvation! Dehydration will kill us first if we can't get our water supply working!" Another yelled.

"He's right, many lives are worth a lot more then just three!".
"But we would be killing children! Children I say!".
"Well they aren't children if they choose to go out and try to fight!".
"Even if we do want to fight, we can't!  We don't have the man power and fire power against our enemy force's!".

The yelling continued, and Yaoyorozu became angry. She could see where they were coming from. She could see why they wanted to attack, even if it would cost Todoroki's, Bakugou's and Kirishima's lived, but to her, it angered her. Yaoyorozu didn't want to see Todoroki die in a plan that may not even work.

"Silence!".

The room became quiet, as all attention was on King All Might, who had his hands clasped together, and it looked like he was deep in thought. There was no sound for a few moments, until he spoke.

"I can see where many of you are coming from. Some of you want to attack. Some want to stay put. Some want to reach out for help, but many of those options will not work. We don't have many weapons, we'll run low on fresh water and food soon, and we can't get any word out cause of the blockade" King All Might explained as he lifted his head.

"So what are you suggesting then?" A member of the council questioned the king.

There was silence.

"We have 2 choices at this point in time. We can either fight till the end, or surrender".

Instantly, people let out gasps of surprise and shock, while others began to speak with one another.

Yaoyorozu, Uraraka and Midoriya fell silent. Fight or Surrender. That word just sounded so wrong coming from All Might. Surrender. To give up. It just sounded so wrong.

"I will let you all discuses those two options. When I return, which ever option has the most votes, we will do" King All Might spoke calmly as he stood from his Throne, and left the room. Instantly, people began to argue with one another, another which option was best and which action to take.

The three teens sat there quietly, not knowing what to say. "W-what now?" Midoriya nervously asked Yaoyorozu, who only glared down at the crowed bellow. "We wait. Wait till we hear their answer, and then we'll think about what to do next" Yaoyorozu replied seriously, not taking her eye's off of the council.

So, the three of them waited. They waited for what felt like hours, until King All Might came back, catching everyone's attention. Everyone kept their eyes on the king as he walked passed, and made his way to his throne.

Everyone sat down at their chairs, and waited for the King to speak.

"Rise if you have chosen to fight" King All Might spoke calmly, looking at the people at the round table. Out of the 20 or so people at the table, only 8 stood up slowly. Yaoyorozu felt her heart shatter. So they were going to surrender!?

No, they couldn't. The couldn't! The mightiest Kingdom shouldn't do this! Giving up!
Yaoyorozu felt herself get angry. No. She wasn't going to let this happen.

"So it's decided. We will surrender to King Endeavour" All Might spoke sadly, as he was handed a sheet of paper by one of the servants along with a pen. Everyone watched as the might king wrote a letter of surrender, and the room was silent.

Yaoyorozu couldn't watch any of this anymore. She just couldn't deal with this.

Yaoyorozu swiftly turned around, and made her way back down the passageway they had come from.
"Y-Yaoyorozu!?" Uraraka whispered yelled, quickly following the girl, Midoriya following close behind.

By the time Midoriya and Uraraka made it back to the stairwell, they could see Yaoyorozu running up the stairwell, up towards the library. "Y-Yaoyorozu! Wait!" Uraraka yelled up to her, running after the girl, Midoriya close behind.

The two of them ran up the stairs, until they came to the library door, which was already opened. Midoriya and Uraraka ran inside, only to find Yaoyorozu looking through some shelves of books, looking for something.

Confused, Uraraka ran over to Yaoyorozu while Midoriya just watched from where he stood. "Yaoyorozu, what are you doing?" Uraraka questioned the taller girl, not knowing what she was doing.

"Do you have any books on healing"

"What?"

"Do you have any books on healing, or to speed up recovery or to stop pain?" Yaoyorozu questioned Uraraka as she turned to face the brown haired girl.

"Y-yeah, I do. Why?"

"I need you to heal me so I can go"

"G-go? Go where?".

Yaoyorozu turned back to Uraraka once again, with a worried yet determined look. "I'm going to go and do what I can to help Shoto, Bakugou and Kirishima".

"W-what!? You can't possibly do that! How are you even going to get over there? What would you do once you get there? What would your plan be if your caught!?" Uraraka questioned Yaoyorozu with worry. She didn't want any other of her friends getting captured of hurt.

"Uraraka, listen, the council and All Might are going to surrender. If they do, Endeavour's forces will swarm the island, and either kill everyone or enslave us all, and I don't want that to happen. If the adults won't fight, I will. I might get hurt or even killed, but I rather die trying to help then by cowardly and being killed by some solider" Yaoyorozu explained to Uraraka, calming down.

"Please, I know what I'm doing. I have a plan" Yaoyorozu reassured the girl, placing a hand on Uraraka's shoulder. Uraraka was silent for a moment, unsure.

"....okay, but you better come back".

Yaoyorozu smiled and nodded. "I promise, I'll do my best".

Uraraka nodded as she turned to Midoriya. "Midoriya, see that book on the lower shelf next to you, the Green and gold one? Pass that over" Uraraka explained to the green haired boy, who only nodded as he bent down and grabbed the book.

While he did that, Uraraka lead Yaoyorozu towards the large table in the centre and told her to sit down on it. Midoriya walked over a minute later, passing the book to Uraraka.

"Thanks" Uraraka thanked the future Prince,  as she turned the book on to a page, that had a bunch of writing and a picture of a green potion of some sort.

"Alright, this potion will speed up your recovery a lot faster, but you have to stay completely still for 15 minutes in order for this one to work" Uraraka spoke as she turned to a different page.

"And this potion will ease the pain a lot more, to the point you won't feel it. Downside is that it only last 4 hours and moving to much cane cause more injury" Uraraka explained to Yaoyorozu as she looked to her.

"I'll go first one. I can sit still for 15 minutes. I just need you to do a few things for me while I'm immobilised" Yaoyorozu told Uraraka.

"Okay. I'll give you the potion, which is quiet quick to make, and then I'll get some things for you" Uraraka explained as she went to make the patients. As she ran around, Uraraka spoke, "Midoriya, can you clear the table, just enough for Yaoyorozu to lay down on".

"Okay" Midoriya replied as he removed some books from the table, enough for the tall girl to lay down comfortably on.

Within minutes, Uraraka was brewing the potion, and Yaoyorozu started to become nervous. She glanced outside the window, only to see it was starting to become dark. Time sure was passing by swiftly. Yaoyorozu couldn't even remember what time it was or what date it is by now.

"Alright, here you go".

Yaoyorozu turned her head away from the window, to see Uraraka holding the green potion to her. Yaoyorozu thanked Uraraka and drank the disgusting green liquid in one go. Once she did, she laid down and focused on not moving.

"Alright Uraraka, I need you to be me light black clothing, like a short sleeved shirt and shorts, along with boots, in case I have to use my quirk. If you feel like it and if it's okay with you, just give me anything you think I might need" Yaoyorozu explained.

"Alright. Midoriya, keep an eye on her, and made she she doesn't move or go to sleep. I'll be back in a few minutes" Uraraka instructed to the boy as she ran out of the library and back down the stairs before Midoriya could even reply.

Yaoyorozu laid there, finding it very hard not to move. Her mind was racing with questions, worries and scenarios. Was Shoto okay? Would her plan work? What happens if All Might surrenders before she can even do anything? What if she doesn't get there on time? What if she hesitates?

Yaoyorozu closed her eye's shut. No, she can't be thinking like that. Not at a time like this. She needed to focus. She needed to be calm. She had to stop think of everything that could go wrong, and think about what she can do right.

Now that she thought about it, she was very different compared to herself only a few weeks ago. Weeks ago, she was living in a huge castle with her father, right next to a small village in her Kingdom. She would walk around the cheery blossom gardens, sing, help people and normal things like that. The best word she could describe herself back then would probably be innocent.

She wasn't effected by war. She wasn't effected with all these horrible things things that was going on around her right now. Panic, fear, pain and death. Even though Yaoyorozu's mother did die, sure she was upset about it, but she wasn't killed by a blade or poison, she died from illness, which was common back then. Other then her mother's death, everything was all so happy and perfect back then to her.

Now however, she was different.

She got stabbed, and survived.

She watched as her home burned and crumbled.

She watched as war unfolded around her, and how she was dragged into it. Or maybe she choose to go to war. Maybe she choose to be here.

There are so many things she could be doing now.

Curled up in a room, crying that her friends are probably dead or how at any moment, enemy solders could come in and kill her.

She could be out in the village, handing out whatever food there was left, and watch as days pass by and people start dying of hunger.

She could be arguing with the council about their actions, and get into a lot of trouble.

But now. She was here. She was here, planing to help her friend. To save them. She wasn't going to be a coward. She was going to be brave, even if she was scared.

How did this all come to be?

Well, because of him.

Shoto Todoroki.

Yaoyorozu did have to admit, that ever since the two of them met, things have been awful. Not in the way of their relationship. Their relationship was what probably pushed Yaoyorozu on, but how their relationship effected everything else.

If the two never met, non of these events would have happened.

If they never met, maybe Shoto's mother would still be alive.

If they never met, Endeavour probably wouldn't be doing all of this.

However, a lot of good things came out of their meeting.

But would Yaoyorozu change anything about what has happened? Would she change anything about their first meeting?

No.

Not at all.

Yes, ever since they first met, terrible things have happened, but at the same time, those moments ever since they met were some of the best times in her life. She met someone who understood her, and she understood Shoto just as well. They had many great moments with one another, like the beach and the coronation, and their first kiss in the alleyway.

Yeah, she wouldn't change anything that has happened so far.

The only thing Yaoyorozu wanted to change was how the outcome of this fight ends, for better or for worse.
