♢Chapter 21♢

Rei Todoroki looked out the window of her sons room, sitting on the window seat, her sons favourite book in hand as her hand felt over the cover of it.
She looked as far as her eye's could see out the window to the world she could no longer be apart of or experience for herself.

Although, she was happy for her son. If Princess Yaoyorozu never convinced Endeavor, her son would still be here, depressed and miserable, just like her.

All she felt these days was depression. After being locked away in this castle, having her 3 children taken away from her and her only child now probably never coming back, she only felt depressed.

She always felt like she wanted to cry, cry her feelings out until they were all gone and flooded the room. She felt like she had no motivation in life any more, and honestly felt like ending her own life, which she nearly has on multiple occasions.

The first was after her daughter was taken away from her by Endeavor. She remembers clearly as she and Fuyumi were sitting in the thrown room, reading together, when Endeavor walked in, a angered expression across his face.

He marched over to the two girl's and grabbed Fuyumi's arm roughly. "Ow!" Fuyumi called out in pain, a terrified and confused expression across her face by her father's actions.

"Your coming with me girl" Endeavor spoke coldly as he dragged Fuyumi out of the room with force. Rei remembered as flashes of her two previous sons being taken away came to her mind.

"No.." she whispered to herself as she got up. "No please" Rei called out as she ran over to her husband and grabbed his arm. "You can't take her away, not like Toya and Natsuo!" Rei begged of him, feeling tears running down her face.

"Let's go of me woman" Endeavor ordered, but she refused. She wasn't going to let this happen. Not again. She didn't want to loose another child.

Rei remembered that exact moment she was smacked over the face with full force, causing her to fall to the ground and stay there, her body shaking and blood running down her nose.

"Mom!" She heard Fuyumi cry out, and that was the last she ever heard from her.
After that, Rei tried to kill herself, but couldn't bring herself to jump.

The second time she tried to kill herself was when she was expecting her fourth child. It shattered her, knowing that this cycle of having a child, raising them, only to be taken away from her again would continue.

She didn't want to live and she didn't want her unborn child to live the life her previous three children had to go through.
Rei tried to poison herself with a cupcake, but couldn't bring herself to take a bite.

The closest she was to killing herself was after she poured boiling water over her own son's face. She felt like she didn't deserve to live after doing such a thing to her son. When she was locked up by Endeavor, she refused to eat for day's, thinking it was best that she just starved.

However, after days of hunger and horrible food delivered to her, it was her own son Shoto who convinced her to eat, and to keep living. She remembered how he was the one to come down to her cell with her food, that he made himself.

Rei remembered how he ran over to her, sobbing, and begging her to eat cause he didn't want her to die. He told her he didn't want to stay in the castle by himself with his father cause he was mean.

"Don't do this mom, please stay. I don't want to be left alone" he cried.

She remembered stroking his white hair and her own tears starting to fall.
"Don't worry Shoto, I'll stay here and protect you to my dying breath" she promised him softly.

And she intended to keep that promise for as long as she could. If Todoroki were to be taken away for her at any time by Endeavor, she wouldn't stand by and watch. She'll get up and fight, no matter what that man would do to her.

Rei heard the door to the room open. She turned her head around, only to see Endeavor standing by the door, in battle armour. She gave him a confused and worried look.

Why was he wearing that? She hadn't heard they were going at war with anyone or that he was going to fight someone.

"Follow me" Endeavor spoke with no emotion to her. Rei could already feel there was something wrong, but she listened any way. She slowly stood and, and placed Shoto's favourite book on his bed for when he came back.

Rei followed Endeavor out of the room and down to the ground level of the castle. A chill ran down her spin as he opened the door to the dungeons.

Why were they going down there? She hadn't disobeyed any rules that he had given her. However, she walked down in front of Endeavor down the steps, knowing that if she protested, she'd be in trouble.

As they walked, Rei couldn't shake off the feeling that something terrible was going to happen, but what was it? The silence was killing her. She wanted to leave, but she wasn't aloud to.

As they reached the bottom of the stairs, they walked down the hallways until they got to a cell, where they entered. Rei was confused why he followed her in, since Endeavor would just shove her in, lock her in and leave.

Suddenly, Rei felt a death grip on her wrist, and she yelped in pain. She looked up to see Endeavor was the one who was squeezing her wrist.

"W-what are you doing?" Rei asked him, knowing something was about to happen. Endeavor didn't speak, but pulled out his sword from its holder.

Rei froze at the realisation.

She began to hit him and kick him, but it was no use. She was to weak to fight him. She begged him to let go, until she felt the cold blade ram through her.

Rei let out a silent gasp at the feeling, the blood coming up her throat and out of her mouth. She heard as he blood splattered on to the cold ground under her, her blood soaking her dress.

Rei looked at Endeavor with pleading eye's, not wanting to end like this, but all that his eye's held was no remorse.
"I have no use for you now" he spoke with no emotion as he let go of her wrist, allowing her to fall.

He turned his back to her and left the cell with out another word, his footsteps fading as he walked away.

Rei struggled to grasp her breath, finding it to difficult to do such an easy task.

"N-no...I-i can't die" Rei whispered to herself as she clenched her bloody hand tightly.
"I c-can't die like this...I-i want to l-live...I d-don't want to die" Rei chocked out. After all these year's or wanting to die, she finally found a reason not to to give up, but now she was.

She wanted to live, she wanted to survive and raise her son till he becomes a man, until he takes over or leave, but now that promise to live for her son was taken away from her.

"I-i-I'm sorry S-shoto, I-i couldn't keep my p-promise".

"Take this to the One For All Kingdom" King Yaoyorozu ordered his servant who nodded quickly. "B-but what about you?" The young man asked the king.

"I'm taking a stand like all kings should" replied the king with a determined smile on his face, reassuring the man. "Now go, take the secret underground tunnels and run for dear life" King Yaoyorozu ordered.

"Yes sir" the young man replied as he ran out of the throne room as quickly as his legs could carry him. King Yaoyorozu watched as the doors closed, leaving him sitting in his throne, waiting.

He listened to the world outside his castle, and couldn't stand to listen to it, his heart feeling like it was about to shatter.
The cries and screams of his subjects as Endeavor and his army burned everything in his path.

The king stood up, his hand in the handle of his sword.

"This may be my last fight, but at least I'll die doing my best" he spoke to himself.

He already knew he was going to die. Many people believed he was the best swordsman in all the kingdom's, but he didn't believe it. He knew he was going to loose to Endeavor, no matter what.

He mind wandered to other this, like his wife, his daughter, and the memories he had of them. There were so many of them, the good and the bad. The first time him and his wife had their daughter, to his wife passing away.

He knew that if he must die today, he'd be leaving his daughter behind in this cruel world, but he can watch on from the other side.

King Yaoyorozu heard as the doors slammed opened, revealing Endeavor, covered in the blood of his people.
"King Yaoyorozu" Endeavor spoke, the words dripping like acid from his mouth.

"King Endeavor" King Yaoyorozu spoke calmly as he stood up from his throne. "How dare you come marching to my Kingdom and killing my innocent subjects" King Yaoyorozu spoke with anger.

"I did what I must" Endeavor replied. The king glared.
"I will avenge the death of my people" The king spoke with determination.
"Revenge is not the Yaoyorozu way, is it not" Endeavor mocked.

King Yaoyorozu didn't speak, as he pulled out his sword, the light from the fires outside glistening off of it.
Endeavor smirked as he charged with full force.

The king was able to block the attack with great difficulty, as he struggled with the force. He may be good with a sword, but his disadvantaged was his straight. Endeavor was larger and more powerful then he ever will be.

The two men fought, trying to disarm the other, but Endeavor proved to be better the king Yaoyorozu. The king was cut many times, and his blood was dripping on to the floor by now, and he could already feel himself getting dizzy.

After many clashes, Endeavor saw a opening in the man's fighting and struck him in the side with his sword.
King Yaoyorozu cried out in pain at the feeling, grabbing his side as he fell to his knee's in pain.

He could feel the sticky warm liquid spilling out of his hands. He pulled his hand away and looked at it.
Sure enough, crimson blood stained his hand.

King Yaoyorozu was about to stand, about to fight again, when a soft hand placed into his blood one.

King Yaoyorozu looked up, only for his eye to widen and tear up.

"Hello, Oji" the woman spoke softly with a warm smile on her red lips.

"K-Kireina" King Yaoyorozu chocked out as he looked at his wife. She was as beautiful as the days they had spent together, with her long black hair flat down that would blow in the wind, her red lips and her pale skin.

"H-how am I able to-"
"See me? It's easy really" she spoke as she frowned. She gave him a saddened smile as she cupped his face in her own hand, as he leaned into her warm touch, his tears now falling.

"I have a lot to tell you, but in order for that, you must lay down your sword" Kerina spoke sadly as she held his hand that he held his sword in.

King Yaoyorozu opened his waters eye's to look at his wife, knowing what she meant. "But what about Momo? I can't just leave her?" He questioned.

"I know you don't. I didn't either, but she'll be okay. We can wait for her here for as long as we want to" His wife spoke, closing her eye's, holding in her own tears.

King Yaoyorozu looked to his wife. He already knew he was going to die anyway, so he might as well finally lay to rest and lay down his sword and be with his wife, but wait here for his daughter when her own time arrives.

King Yaoyorozu gave a smile as he let go of his sword in his hand, hearing it clang to the floor, and he held his hand with his wife.

"Let's wait together" he spoke with happiness as tears ran down his face, feeling nothing as his opponents sword sliced his head.

Okay, this was very difficult to write for me just for how much I cried writing this while listening to the music.
Even now as I'm writing this, I'm still crying.
I hoped you enjoyed this chapter and leaves ideas for the next one.
