♢Chapter 19♢
WARNING! THIS CHAPTER KINDA GOES VERY DARK. SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT....I'M SORRY!
Yaoyorozu cried into Todoroki's chest for another good 30 minutes before she calmed down enough to pull back from him. Her eye's were all red and puffy from the crying.
"S-sorry" Yaoyorozu chocked out as she rubbed her eye's, hoping to get rid of the blurriness from them.
"It's okay Momo, there's no need to apologise" Todoroki told the girl as he rubbed her back in circles, hoping to calm her down a bit more. The two hadn't even noticed that Uraraka left, until she came back and handed Yaoyorozu a glass of water.
"Here. You'll be dehydrated after all the crying" Uraraka told the black haired girl. "T-thanks" Yaoyorozu replied as she took the glass with shaky hands and drank the water.
Once she was done, Yaoyorozu handed the glass back to Uraraka and placed her head on Todoroki's shoulder.
"You okay?" Todoroki asked Yaoyorozu, and she nodded. "I'm fine, I just feel tired and have a headache" Yaoyorozu replied with. She was quiet for a moment before her eye's shot opened and she stood up, confusing everyone.
"Momo?" Todoroki spoke, but Yaoyorozu interupted him. "I need to see if it's true. I need to see if it really happened" Yaoyorozu spoke as she rushed down the hallway. "Wait Yaoyorozu" Midoriya called out, but Yaoyorozu didn't reply or even turn around to acknowledge him.
"I'll get her" Todoroki told Uraraka and Midoriya as he raced after Yaoyorozu down the hallway.
After searcher for a while, Todoroki found Yaoyorozu outside, heading towards the gates of the castle. "Momo wait!" Todoroki called out to her.
Yaoyorozu turned her head and stopped as Todoroki made his way over to her. "Where are you going?" Todoroki asked Yaoyorozu. "Home. I need to see if it's true. If it is, I at least want to see if my father is still somehow alive" Yaoyorozu explained to Todoroki.
She desperately wanted to see her father again, and she still didn't want to believe he was dead, not until she saw his body for herself. If he father was dead, she at least wanted to give him a proper burial.
Todoroki sighed. He knew that going would be dangerous, incase they ran into his father, but he knew Yaoyorozu wanted to go, to see for herself, and he knew he wouldn't be able to stop her, even if he tried.
"Alright, but I'm coming with you" Todoroki told Yaoyorozu with a small smile, which she returned. "Thanks. Cause if I'm being honest, I didn't want to go alone" Yaoyorozu spoke as she left the castle and walked down the street down to the docks.
Luckily, they made it on time to get onto the boat and boarded on to the ship. They sat down quietly for the whole 10 minutes during the trip until they got to the mainland.
Once they did, they made their ways to the horses that they arrived on and mounted back onto them.
"You know this isn't safe, right?" Todoroki told Yaoyorozu with concern.
If it's true that his father was on their way to the One For All Kingdom, he'd be very close by, probably a hour away if he was in a rush to get to the kingdom, and he doubted that his father's army would need to take a break after invading the Yaoyorozu Kingdom, since they were one of the more peaceful kingdom's.
Yaoyorozu nodded. "I know, but I'm not going to let that stop me from seeing what happened" Yaoyorozu told Todoroki sternly as she whipped the reins and her horse moved forward swiftly.
Todoroki sighed.
He knew he wouldn't be able to talk Yaoyorozu out of going, so he might as well go along to keep her safe in case they do run into any trouble. With that, Todoroki also whipped the reins and followed closely behind Yaoyorozu.
The trip was quiet mostly, the two teens not saying much to one another, only looking around in case there were signs that Endeavor was close by or passed through the area.
They travel through the forest, through fields that were filled with daffodils and across a small river. They wanted to go back on a different path, since the public path would probably be what Endeavor would go down to get to the One For All Kingdom.
After what felt like forever of silence and a long journey, the two teens saw something in the distance.
Black smoke that was raising into the sky.
Yaoyorozu faced twisted into horror, at the realisation of what it may be coming from. "Please don't be what I think it is" Yaoyorozu told herself as she sped up quickly, passing Todoroki swiftly. Todoroki didn't move for a few seconds, already knowing what the smoke was coming from.
He quickly whipped the reins and followed Yaoyorozu in the direction she was going.
As Todoroki got closer to the source of the black smoke, it seemed the air became more hard to breath with the smoke in front of him. The smoke was also dense, so it became harder to see in front of him.
Todoroki had to slow down, in case he ran into anything and he didn't want that to happen. He stopped his stead and hopped off, tying it to a branch close by.
Todoroki thought it would be better if he went by foot from there, since he didn't want his horse to probably trip over something and injured itself or breath any more of the toxic air.
Todoroki ran for what felt like forever, but the further he went, the harder it was to breath. It felt like his lungs were on fire. Todoroki then pulled out a cloth and covered his noses and mouth with it, hoping it would help.
"Momo!?" Todoroki called out the girls name.
No response.
"Momo!?" Todoroki called out and gain, hoping for her to call back.
Again, no response.
Todoroki began to worry and he sped up. As he did, Todoroki could see orange light in the distance ahead of him. Todoroki ran to it, only to see that it wasn't a light, but fire. Multiple fires burning down broken and destroyed houses.
Todoroki already knew where they were.
The Yaoyorozu Kingdom. Or, what's left of it.
"Momo!?" Todoroki yelled out, hoping to hear her.
No response once again.
Todoroki walked further, looking at the remains of what was left. Houses were reduced to rubble and what was left standing was burning. The air smelt like smoke and rotten flesh, probably from the bodies of the people that were burnt alive.
Todoroki scowled.
He knew his father was capable of terrible things and could do alot with his power, but this!? Burning a whole Kingdom to the ground for so reason, destroying homes and murdering innocent people.
It was sickening.
Endeavor was truly a monster.
"And I can't believe that I am the son of that horrid monster" Todoroki spoke to himself, clenching his fists tightly.
After another minute of walking, Todoroki could hear something further up ahead. It sounded like crying. It sounded like Yaoyorozu!
Todoroki ran up what was left of the main street and to where the castle was. He ran passed the wall's, that was now knocked down and the rumbled from it scattered everywhere.
Todoroki ran to where the steps of the castle was, only to see Yaoyorozu, sitting on the remains of them, her knees tucked into her chest and her head on them, sobbing.
Todoroki rushed over to Yaoyorozu and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Momo, are you okay?" Todoroki asked Yaoyorozu as calmly as possible. He wanted to slap himself in the face for saying that.
Of course she wasn't okay! He whole home was burnt down to the ground and he asked her if she was okay!?
Yaoyorozu lifted her head and chocked out a sob. "T-t-the t-t-throne r-room" Yaoyorozu sobbed out as she went back to her sobbing. Todoroki gave a worried glance. What about the throne room?
Todoroki was almost afraid to look, but he had to see what was there. Todoroki left Yaoyorozu there to collect her emotions as he went inside. One look inside and it looked like the place was about to collapse, which it probably was.
Todoroki quickly made it to the throne room, but the doors to it was opened a little. Todoroki pushed opened the heavy door, and what laid beyond them, made him nearly throw up right there and then.
In the centre of the room, was a mountain of bodies, all laid on top of one another, ranging from men, woman and even children. There were all covered in blood and burns, and their last moments still cemented on to their faces.
However, at the top of the pile, was a large stick, which held the head of King Yaoyorozu, stock on to the top of it, his eye's carved out and dried blood staining his face.
On that stick, just below the Kings head, was a sign, written in blood, saying;
You're next
Todoroki slammed the door and had to take a breather, taking in deep breaths of the smoky air. He felt like he was about to vomit. So many bodies. So many faces of pain. So many people who knew.
In the mountain of bodies, Todoroki could recognised a few people. There was the old man who played music close to the bar. There was a woman who worked at the flower shop, who was so sweet and kind, and her daughter, Eri he remembered the little girls name. She was the one who made flower crowns from both Todoroki and Yaoyorozu.
But now...they are all dead. Slaughtered like animal's!
Then there was King Yaoyorozu. Todoroki teared up at the thought of the man. For the time Todoroki had known the man, he was a pretty funny guy. He joked around, was chill, but also very caring to everyone and never saw violence was a way to solve a problem.
If anything, King Yaoyorozu was more father like to Todoroki then Endeavor ever was.
Todoroki walked sadly back outside, where Yaoyorozu still was on the steps, but now she had calmed down. Todoroki sat next to her and stayed quiet for a while.
"I saw it" Todoroki spoke.
"I did to".
"It's disgusting".
"It's true. You father is one disgusting man" Yaoyorozu spoke as she rubbed her eye's furiously.
Todoroki nodded.
"I know. He's a monster".
"Well you nothing like your father, and I am happy for that" Yaoyorozu spoke as she stood up and held out her hand to Todoroki.
"And I know you never will be like him" Yaoyorozu spoke with a small smile on her lips. Todoroki returned that smile and held Yaoyorozu's hand as she helped him up from the steps.
"And I'll promise you that" Todoroki replied, promising that saying. He will never end up like his father.
"Should we go back now?" Yaoyorozu asked Todoroki. He nodded.
"Yeah. Let's go" Todoroki spoke as he walked in front of Yaoyorozu. However, Todoroki stopped when he felt Yaoyorozu grab his shoulder.
"What now M-" Todoroki began, but was silenced when Yaoyorozu gave him a quick kiss on the lips before letting him go.
Before Todoroki could get a work out, Yaoyorozu spoke.
"That was just being here with me" Yaoyorozu told him with a wide saddened smile. "It's no problem Momo. Now let's get back before Endeavor gets to the One For All Kingdom" Todoroki told Yaoyorozu as they began to walk back.
"So, how long will it take us to g-" Yaoyorozu spoke, but suddenly stopped. Todoroki didn't notice for a few seconds, until he stopped hearing Yaoyorozu behind him.
"Momo, what were y-" Todoroki began as he turned around to talk to Yaoyorozu, but was silenced at the sight.
Yaoyorozu was standing there, a pained, shocked expression on her face, and small stream of blood dripping down the side of her mouth, and a blade right through her stomach.
