♡Chapter 11♡
Todoroki P.O.V
Me and Yaoyorozu have been sitting in the carriage for nearly 3 hours now and we didn't know when we would arrive at the One For All Kingdom. Yaoyorozu was asleep, her head leaning on my shoulder, while I was leaning my head against the window, looking out of it.
We were in a forest, and every now and again, I would be able to see the ocean through the tree's. Other then that, there was nothing to do.
For most of the trip, me and Yaoyorozu talked about thing's like our favourite stories.
Yaoyorozu told me about her favourite story Eragon, which seems quiet interesting, about a boy and a dragon travelling the land, fighting against the Empire.
I told Yaoyorozu about my favourite book, To The Core, about a group of friend's who end up falling through a raven, only to end up in the centre of the earth.
We also had some food, mainly cookies and sandwiches cause we never had anything to eat before we left.
It was all good until we didn't know what to do, and then Yaoyorozu feel asleep and if I'm being honest, I wanted to sleep to.
Just as I was about to close my eyes, I saw something. Light. Coming from the far distance beyond the tree's.
I forced my eye's to focus on the light, wanting to know what it was and where it was coming from.
The closer I looked, I could see the light was coming from a island just out a bit in the ocean.
The i felt the carriage began to go down a small hill. I wanted to look out the window to see what's ahead, but that meant I would have to wake Yaoyorozu up. I decided against it and just waited to see where we were going.
I must have closed my eyes and dozed off, cause the next thing I know, I felt someone shaking me roughly.
"Todo. Todoroki wake up, we're here!" Someone told me excitedly as they continued to shake me. "I'm up. I'm up" I mummbled as I sat up and rubbed my eye's. When I pulled them away and opened my eyes, I saw a very happy Yaoyorozu.
"Come on, if we miss the boat, we will have to wait another hour to get to the coronation" Yaoyorozu told me as she opened the carriage door and jumped out excitedly. I was a bit confused, so I to got out of the carriage and looked around.
First thing that caught my attention, was the large wooden ship that was docked next to a walkway next to the ocean. The second thing I noticed was that there was a lot of people around, making their way over to the ship.
I looked out over the water, only to see a large island a while away in the ocean. I could see the light coming from it and couldn't hear the faint sound of music. That must be where the One For All Kingdom was. On the island. It must also have been what I saw earlier on.
"Come on, if we don't get on now, we'll get left behind" Yaoyorozu told me as she held my hand and pretty much dragged me to the ship. Before I knew it, we were walking up the plank onto the ship. I looked down and could see the water crashing against the ship and the wooden supports the held up the docks.
To be honest, I felt kind of nervous. I've read so many stories that took place on water, and in nearly every one of them, at least one ship sinks into the water. Soon, my head started filling up with thoughts.
What if this ships hits up against some rocks and we being to sink?
I would drown cause I don't know how to swim. I never learned how to swim, so add that with the fear of sinking, and now I'm just scared.
I was dragged out of my own thoughts when I heard Yaoyorozu call my name. "Todoroki? You okay?" I turned my head to see Yaoyorozu standing next to me with a concern look. "Y-yeah I'm fine" I reassured her.
She raid her brow. "You sure? You look like your aware that a bounty had been placed on you" Yaoyorozu told me as she looked for somewhere for us to sit. I sighed.
"I guess I'm just a bit nervous, cause I've never been on a boat before. Also, I've read to many stories where ships sink and people drown, and I don't know how to swim, so that's another reason" I explained to Yaoyorozu.
She turned to me. "That fear is totally normal for someone's first time on a boat. I assure you, you'll be fine, I promise" Yaoyorozu reassured me, adding her smile at the end. I gave a small smile and a nod. "If you say so" was all I said as we continued to look for seats.
Only moments later, we found somewhere to sit near the top of the boat and we sat down. People were still getting on, so we still had to wait until everyone was on so we can go.
For a long time, me and Yaoyorozu didn't speak, not knowing what to say to one another, and it felt kind of awkward in my opinion. "Just ask he something to break the silence" I thought to myself.
"So, have you ever actually been to the One For All Kingdom?" I asked Yaoyorozu. She turned to me and thought.
"I have, but I was way to young to remember much. The only thing I remember was standing behind my father as he spoke to the King of the One For All Kingdom. What I do remember was they chatting up a storm and laughing every now and again. The King did try to talk to me and held out his hand for me to shake, by I was to shy and just covered my face with my father's cloak" Yaoyorozu explained to me, chuckling at the end.
"It's funny really. I wonder if he even remembers me?" Yaoyorozu thought out loud. "Well who knows, maybe he does if we ever get the chance to meet him" I told her.
I was quiet curious about the King of the One For All Kingdom. For years, my father always spoke about how much he hated him. How much that our kingdom should be the number one Kingdom, not One For All.
So now that we are going to the One For All Kingdom, I wanted to see the king for myself, wanting to know if all the things my father said about him are true. My father said he was selfish, cruel, demanding and always looking for more power, which I don't believe.
"Well we might be able to see him tonight, later on, there is going to be a party for royals, and since we are royals, we might be allowed in and you could met all my friend's" Yaoyorozu told me.
"What are your friend's like? "
"They're are great. There's Uraraka, she's a sorcerer and preform amazing spells. There's Iida who is a knight at the One For All Kingdom" Yaoyorozu chuckled as she continued.
"Then there is Kaminari and Jiro who were originally training together to become sword fighters, but now sail the sea together. There is also Tusyu and Tokoyami and way more" Yaoyorozu explained to me. I was a bit shocked by how many friend's she had, and felt a bit saddened, cause I didn't have any, except for Yaoyorozu.
"And I'm sure that you'll make friends with all of them tonight if we met them" Yaoyorozu spoke, catching my attention. "How do you know that any of your friend's would want to be friends with me?" I asked the girl next to me. She just smiled. "Cause your an amazing person, that's why" Yaoyorozu told me.
When she spoke those words, I felt my cheeks heat up. Was I blushing? I was! To cover it up in turned my face away from Yaoyorozu as looked to the plank of the ship, only to see that it was being pulled inboard, meaning we were leaving soon.
I then had that sinking feeling in my stomach. You know that feeling you have when your so nervous or scared, you fell your stomach having a weird feeling and you feel sick. I was feeling that.
Then I felt something grab my hand, I looked down at my hand, only to another hand holding it. I looked up to see it was Yaoyorozu. "Just to make you feel a bit better" was all Yaoyorozu told me as we stayed quiet and the ship began to sail. We sat there in totally silence for around 15 minutes until we finally got to the island.
The island was small, but it held the whole Kingdom on it. I could see the docks, then the shops and houses and homes and in the centre at the top of the island, was the castle, which was massive. I waited till the ship pulled into the docks and stopped.
Then people began to get up and leave the ship, one by one down the plank once again. I stood up and so did Yaoyorozu. We slowly followed behind people as we made our way off the ship. "You excited?" Yaoyorozu asked me, revering to the coronation. "I guess. I've never been to one, so I don't know what to expect" I told Yaoyorozu as we finally got off the boat.
"Trust me, it's going to be fun" the blacked haired girl told me as we made our way into town. The first thing I noticed when we began walking was that the street was wide and had many shops on either side of the street, and lanterns hung above the street to, giving it all a yellow/golden hue.
The street was also very crowded, which I didn't like. You could lose someone very easily here. "Yaoyorozu" I spoke, catching her attention. "Yeah?".
"Let's link arms so we don't get separated when we're here and don't lose each other" I explained to her.
"Alright" she replied as she wrapped her arm with mine, now walking side by side one another. As we walked, I kept glancing around the area. King Yaoyorozu did tell me to look out for some shady people here, so that's what I did, and already, I could spot a few.
Most of them looked very under-dressed and scruffy looking, eyeing people, mostly female's I noticed. I watched as some of these older men would look at girls passing by and some one even cat call them, saying this like "Hey darling" or "What's up baby".
It disgusts me that that men would do that to girls. Some girls they did it to were even young girls around the ages of 13 from what I seen here. It made me sick.
As me and Yaoyorozu passed one of these men, one of them took notice of Yaoyorozu and decided to try his luck.
"Hey baby girl, where you going tonight?" He cat called, me and Yaoyorozu turning around and glaring at him. Although Yaoyorozu looked disturbed at first, she replaced it with a brave face.
"To the coronation like everyone else" Yaoyorozu told him, and I glared at him. He chuckled. "How bout when it's over, you and I go back to my place and the two of us can have some fun together in my bed" he told Yaoyorozu, giving a wink at the end.
Yaoyorozu's brave face was now gone, and she looked truly disturbed at the comment. I felt like I was fuming with anger. "Do you even know how old she is" I asked him, anger dripping from my words, but it looks like he paid no attention to it. "16" he replied, which was true.
"Yeah, so that means she's underage for anything you have planned out in that sick mind of yours" I told him sternly. He chuckled once again. "Doesn't matter to me, all I care about is getting a pretty lady like her into my bed and having some fun with her for the whole night" he spoke, reaching to take her hand.
Instantly, I slapped his hand away, which he held in pain. "I don't think so you sicko. Your not doing anything with her, you understand" I told him, raising my voice a bit. He laughed. "And what would someone like you do if I did have my fun with her" the perverted man asked as he looked to Yaoyorozu, smirking.
"If you even so much as touch her, I swear I will get the closest weapon I can find here and slit that throat of yours and watch as you chock on your blood as it spills to the ground" I told him with no emotion in my voice, showing I meant business and I was serious, which I was. The man stayed quiet and didn't say anything for a while, so I took that chance to to wrap my arm around Yaoyorozu's arm and lead her away.
"You okay?" I asked her, knowing she must have been shaken up by what he planned to do with her. She didn't say anything but nodded. "T-thanks. I appreciate you standing in like that for me. I was really disturbed by what he wanted to do with me. He pretty much wanted to ra-".
"Let's not talk about that. I don't want you thinking about what happened back there, I don't want that to ruin your night here. Don't worry, if that ever happens again tonight, I'll make sure nothing happens to you" I reassured her.
I didn't get a response, except her hugging my arm tighter and her leaning her head against mine. I then felt very protective of Yaoyorozu in that moment, but was happy that she was okay.
We walked through the crowed street, we could finally see the gates to the main castle. "Finally, almost there" I spoke as we got closer to the gates.
I then felt Yaoyorozu lift her head off my shoulder and she spoke.
"Wait before we go in, I need to tell you something" Yaoyorozu told me as she began to drag me away from the crowd. She dragged me down some streets before we ended up in an empty alleyway, lighten up by the lanterns above us. "Why did you drag me into an alleyway just to talk to me and tell me something" I asked the girl, quiet confused why we had to be here.
"I-i.." Yaoyorozu started but stopped as she let out an angry sigh of frustration and began to pace back and fort, fidgeting with her hands. "Yaoyorozu? Is something wrong?" I asked her, confused what was going on. She didn't respond, but after a moment, Yaoyorozu stopped.
She turned to me and stood in front of me and stayed quiet for a moment. The next thing she did, shocked me.
She placed her two hands on the side of my face and brought her face closer to mine. The next thing I knew, I felt her soft lips on mine. She kissed me.
For that small moment, I was frozen. Here, this girl that has done so much for me, this girl that I had known for a short time but felt like I've known her for years, this girl who is brave, strong, independent, and who've I've fallen for, was kissing me.
It felt like a dream to me.
The kiss only lasted a moment, but it felt like hour's to me before Yaoyorozu pulled back. When she pulled away, I was almost desperate to ask her do do it again.
When Yaoyorozu pulled away, she had a blush across her face.
"I-i wanted to say that i-i-i love you".
If I could of died of pure joy in that moment, I would a thousand times over. Did she just say I love you? To me?
"Y-you love me?" I asked, still in shock, which she nodded to.
"Yes. You have been so kind to me. You listen to me talk for hour's, you didn't turn down my silly ideas and interests like that game when we first met in the garden's. You took time out of your day to teach me how to dance and you let me sleep in with you when I was scared of a storm, and you didn't make it feel awkward for me. You were concerned for me. You made me a beautiful necklace out of a shell you found when we first got to the beach and you talked about your personal problems with me. You even stood up for me only minutes ago against that man, and I can't ever thank you enough for it. I thank you a hundred times over. You make me feel loved and special like no one else ever had, and I feel truly happy and safe with you. Those are some reasons I truly love you" Yaoyorozu explained to me, reminding me of the time we spent together.
I was in shock for a moment, but ended up smiling.
"Yaoyorozu, your more unique to anyone I have ever met. Your brave, independent, strong, kind, funny, clever and much more then I can ever describe to you. You stood up against my father which was daring, you took me to the ocean which was my dream, and you made me feel like I could be myself. When we first met, you weren't like most girl's i met, who only talked about themselves or all about me, or think I'm ugly with this large scare. You were never like that. You talked about books, poems, games, you asked about my life asked and interests and didn't see me as a way to gain power. You just saw me as a person. And to be honest, I love you for that.
I love you" I ended my speech.
I looked to Yaoyorozu who looked like she was on the verge of tears of joy. "You really mean that?" She asked me wiping her eyes. "Every word of it" I replied and leaned in, her doing the same. This time, I enjoyed that kiss, savouring it and enjoyed every moment of it. I wrapped my arms around Yaoyorozu's waist, and she wrapped her arms around my neck.
Never in my wildest dreams would I see myself here.
Gone to a far away land that was bright and colourful with so much to see and do, seeing the ocean and getting to splash around in it, and this. Falling in love with an amazing girl who've I deeply cherish, and sharing a kiss with them.
This was truly the best nights of my life, and a night in would carry with me forever.
