Branch stares at Poppy confused as Poppy does the same towards her. Poppy doesn't understand that usually men are not themselves on the first date? But, he's a man and Branch doesn't doubt the idea that Poppy went on dates! How could he not understand?

" You can't be serious! You seriously don't know that most men don't be themselves on the first date? Your a guy yourself. ",Branch says in disbelief.

Poppy brings his hand to the back of his neck. He starts scratching it with a blank look on his face. He honestly doesn't know much about the how other men act on a first date unless you count his male friends but, they were usually just nervous and Smidge didn't think his crush would like him as he is. It was all completely different to Poppy. Looks like male vampires have other ideas on how to act on dates... Then Poppy slowly removes his hand from the back of his neck.

" Well... I always was trying to be myself on first dates and my friends would just act a little different sometimes because,they were nervous or afraid. I don't really know about what the other trolls and vampires do on first dates... ",Poppy admits honestly and slowly.

The Queen just looks at Poppy for a moment thinking about what he just said. His answer does make some sense to her. Maybe the troll community is just more open than she originally thought or something else she doesn't know about... Branch never went to the troll village or kingdom because, she has no interest in getting caught.

" I see...",Branch comments understandingly.

" Yeah. That's pretty much how it is... Also I noticed you didn't answer my other question. ",Poppy admits honestly.

Branch raises an eyebrow then puts one hand on her hip. The only reason she didn't answer the other question is that he interrupted her. Branch doesn't normally talk about her dates and private matters with vampires who bump into her but, something about Poppy encourages her to do so. She won't admit but, Branch kind of likes it.

" That's cause you interrupted me,mister.",Branch points out jokingly and seriously.

Poppy chuckles happily at her point. He knew it is truth and likes how Branch talks back to him. Then Branch simply smiles at Poppy as she removes her hand from her hip.

" It's tomorrow night after a local art gallery charity event I have to attend. ",Branch admits honestly.

" Wait! Is it a party? ",Poppy asks hopeful and excited.

Poppy's eyes look like they are lit up and his smile is big. The turned vampire loves parties! It's been a while since he been to one so he wants to go to a vampire party. Branch is surprised by his sudden behavior at first then it melts away quickly. The Queen knows how much the trolls love to party. Sometimes the music is so loud and the fireworks are so big that the Vampires of Vampdom can hear it and see it!

" It is partly a party. The first quarter of it is an oration then the rest of it is a simple party to celebrate how much money was raised. It probably won't be anything like your use to. ",Branch explains honestly.

Poppy's light up more at the fact the event will be a party. Now he really wants to go to the party! Excitement fills the pink vampire's soul. Branch notices his behavior and is surprised by excited he is! It's like Poppy is a kid in an candy store.

" Can I come? Can I? Can I?",Poppy asks hopeful and excited.

" Hm... Well yeah you can go to it. Anyone can come to the charity event but, I'm not sure you would like this kind of party. It's more like a dance than a wild party... ",Branch says honestly.

Poppy is very happy to hear that he can come. Now knowing that it is a dance it doesn't change his mind at all! A party doesn't have to be wild for him to enjoy it! So why does she think that he won't like it?

" What makes you think that? I have went to balls and dances before so I'm covered. How would this dance be any different? ",Poppy says happily.

Branch doubts that the balls and dances back in the troll village are the same as ones in Vampdom. She looks at the vampire before her for a moment unconvinced. Poppy smiles at her happily.

" So what time does it start? Maybe we could go together. You know where Art Gallery is.",Poppy says cheerful and innocently.

Branch is taken back by Poppy! Her eyes widen in shock! Is he implying that they go to the event as a date or does he really mean something else? A small part of the Queen feels strangely happy but, Branch is too shocked to notice it. Branch's heart had stopped at this moment.

" Like a date?", Branch asks softly and shocked.

Poppy's eyes widen in shock! He didn't mean it like a date! He meant that they arrive at the charity event together! What did he say that gave her the idea that he was suggesting an date? The pink man didn't want to go on a date with her but, at the same time a subtle, quiet and small part of him strangely and actually likes the idea. Poppy doesn't notice the voice at all. His heart feels like it is stopping too.

" No! No! I didn't mean like that. I meant that we just arrive at the dance together like friends. Not like we going together together. You know. No strings attached...",Poppy says in a mix of panicked and shocked then softly trying to sensitive to her feelings.

Branch's lips mouths a short "Oh" after Poppy said what he said. Her eyes become dim. The Queen's heart feels a tiny and strange pin of disappointment. She now understands what Poppy meant but, she doesn't understand the strange pin her chest. Branch just ignores it. Now the air feels awkward between Poppy and Branch.

" Oh... Good then... For a second I thought...",Branch says awkwardly.

Poppy understands what she means. His heart had restart beating and so did Branch's heart. Poppy isn't use to being in an awkward position like this. He hopes didn't make things too weird between them.

"Yeah...That's was my bad...", Poppy replies awkwardly.

They stay quiet for a long minute avoiding eye contact. The tense air could be cut by an knife. Poppy let's out a small cough which sounds loud to them both. Then Branch and Poppy finally look at each other.

" So when did we become friends? I don't really remember us becoming friends... ",Branch says awkwardly.

" Oh,we're not? Then I will make you my friend. There's nothing wrong with making friends every now and then. ",Poppy says surprised then positively.

Making Branch his friend is part of getting her trust but, that it isn't the complete reason why he wants to be her friend. It's part of his nature to make friends and Branch is like nobody he ever met. Branch raises an eyebrow at Poppy's positivity of her becoming his friend. She didn't make any promises.

" Oh really? Your gonna convince me to be your friend?",Branch says jokingly and unconvinced.

Poppy playfully nods his head smiling at her. Branch can't believe what is now happening. Then she looks down at her watch. Her eyes widen as she realizes what time it is! The Queen must go back to her castle to help her granddaughter. Branch looks up at Poppy and he notices her expression.

"I'm late to do something. ", Branch says honestly.

Then just as Branch is about to leave Poppy stops her! Poppy grabs her hand and gently pull her arm. He needed to know to know something. He needs an answer. Branch looks up at Poppy confused.

" What?",Branch asks confused.

" Are you up for arriving at that Art Gallery with me like future friends? There's still no strings attached...",Poppy says hopeful and softly.

The Vampire Hunter has an hopeful look in his eyes and innocently smiles. Branch's heart subtly skips a beat in that moment. She gazes into his eyes as she thinks about what Poppy asked her. Then a soft and sweetly smile forms on her face.

" I will be going before it's starts so you must come over to the castle before seven O clock if you are going. The dress code is formal. Don't count on this happening every time you ask me something. ",Branch says softly.

The pink man's heart skips a subtle beat. His smile becomes soft and happy. Poppy couldn't be happier.

" It's a not date...",Poppy replies happily.
