Luna was walking along the shelves to find books about the Science project they need to do in pairs, but she had to do it herself because her partner said he was 'tired' of the fair which was a week ago.

She heard heels clattered behind her and a tap on her shoulder a while later.

"Luna? Oh gosh its really you!" Hara pulled her into a hug and she awkwardly hugged back.

"What are you doing here?" Hara asked.

"I'm.. Looking for books. Its for our science project."

"Oh cool! Me too. I mean I'm helping my boyfriend, Sungho. You know him right?"

"Yeah..."

"So do you want to sit with us?"

"No, I mean, Tao would be here in a minute so.."

"Hm, I like you, you're too innocent. Let me tell you something. But promise me you won't tell anyone about it?"

Luna nodded eagerly.

"Come let's sit where it's less people."

Hara pulled Luna to the History section where it was deserted and sat on the floor. Luna followed.

"So what is it you want to tell me?"

Hara inhaled deeply.

"I'm Tao's first girlfriend."

Silence.

"You're not saying anything about it?" Hara asked.

"Oh." Luna said, brain whirring as a lot of things fleet into her mind.

Hara sighed. "I'm his first real girlfriend. Don't you want to ask why I left him?

'Do I?' Luna thought.

"Why?"

"Well first and foremost, we were the most cute couple, and he loved me so much, I think he still does after all these while, considering the girls he never kept around after he slept with them."

Luna was quiet. She was half listening. Tao blackmailed her to be his girlfriend, and they made a pact that none of it was real, so why did she feel like this? Why did she feel like her heart was stabbed by thousands of needles?

"Luna, are you listening?" Hara waved her hand in front of her.

"Huh? Y-yeah."

"Thank god. I'm worried about you. I don't want you to be like the other girls who he left after he get their v-card."

"Can you repeat why you left him? I spaced out a little." Luna asked quietly.

Hara smiled. "Well, he asked me to deepen our relationship with, you know what, but I said I wouldn't do it. I don't want to get pregnant. Those things are addictive."

Luna's eyebrows were furrowed.

"He didn't ask you to do it?" Hara asked and Luna shook her head. "That's weird, usually he'll get a girl within one week. You're together for what, two weeks?" Luna nodded.

"Hm I guess it will happen sooner or later. Has he brought you to his room yet?" Hara asked and Luna hesitantly nodded.

Hara snapped her fingers. "See, I told you. You have to be careful. I gotta go. Sungho probably wondering where I am. See you later Luna!"

After Hara left Luna texted Tao saying that she could not do the project alone. Tao told her to wait in front of the library.

She did what she was told to, of course.

"Hey, you waited long?" Tao asked, casually planting his hands in his pockets.

Luna smiled dryly and shook her head. She kept her head bowed contemplating whether she was going to ask Tao about what Hara told her or not.

Tao noticed her change of behaviour but kept his mouth shut.

"You have all the books?" He asked again. Luna nodded. He was about to ask why she was acting weirdly but a voice cut him off.

"Luna!" Both of their heads looked at the direction of the chirpy voice.

Hara was hugging Sungho's arm and was waving frantically to Luna. Luna just smiled.

"Don't forget what I told you okay? See you later." And she walked off with her boyfriend.

"You know her?" Tao grumbled.

Luna shook off his question. "Where are we going to do this project?"

"At my house of course. Let's go."

***

Luna sat far from Tao in his room.

They were sitting on the floor, papers and books scattered everywhere.

"Do you want something to eat? You haven't eat right?" Tao said.

"What?" Luna said nonchalantly, not looking up from her work.

"Why do you sit so far? You can't hear anything I say if you sit that far. What's wrong with you?" Tao started to feel agitated by her unexplained change in behaviour.

"I'm fine." She replied dryly.

Tao's patience drained off. He threw a book across the room, knocking one of the painting frames, the one with girl gazing out to the town. Luna shot up, shocked. Her eyes darted to the broken frame and slowly trailed to the fuming Tao.

True, they got acquainted and became close in a short matter of time, but that does not mean her fear toward him was gone.

Although her hands started trembling, and her heartbeat fastened its pace, she commanded herself to appear calm. She grabbed her pen, gripping it hard to cover her slightly shaky hands and began to write about random things in her book.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Tao yelled.

Luna quickly stood up and locked the door, worried that his Mom might hear his yell.

"Quiet, your Mom is here." She said, getting annoyed by his attitude.

She glared at the guy who was clenching his jaw hard. There was a moment of silence before he opened his mouth.

"Is this about her? You talked to her right?"

"Who?" Luna asked innocently and when he did not reply she turned toward the door. She cannot stay in the same room with him right now, his anger was choking her and it scared her so much that she actually cared.

Tao caught her wrist and spun her around.

"Tell me."

He tightened his grip on her wrist that she was sure it will leave some marks.

"Stop. You're hurting me."

"Tell me!"

"Fine! She told me you used all the girls for your satisfaction and when you're satisfied you end it like it was nothing. You dumped them and left them crying for something that wasn't real. She told me that I am your next play toy, and you are using me! So let me go. I don't want to be your next victim." She cried, trying to peel his fingers off her throbbing skin.

"And you believe her?" Tao asked quietly.

"She's your first love! You can't even love anyone after her. So tell me why I should not believe her."

Luna was close to tears. She bit her lower lip to keep those sobs from escaping her mouth.

Tao let her go and she ran home.

Tao was sitting on his bed, eyes locked at the project left scattered on the floor.

It was true that he treated girls like they were nothing after Hara left him. It was true he never considered of how they felt, because he thought they were all the same. It was true that Hara was his first love and that he never fall in love after her.

But all that has changed after Luna.

Finally making up his mind, Tao stood up and went to his nightstand, opened the drawer and pulled out the blue container. He slipped on his jacket, the very one he lent to Luna that day on the fair, and drove to her house.

***

He stood before the two storey house at the end of street, staring at the colourful lawn while gathering his guts to ring the bell.

When he finally rang it, he was greeted by an older version of Luna.

"Hello, may I help you?" She smiled.

"I, um, is Luna home?" Tao asked.

The woman's eyes lit up instantly.

"Oh, are you Luna's friend?"

"Yes."

She opened the door widely. "Please come in. I'll call Luna."

"No thank you, I just want to meet her awhile. I'll wait here." Tao raked a hand through his hair.

The woman smiled and nodded.

A moment later Luna poked her head from behind the door.

"What are you doing here? Go away." She whispered.

"I need to talk to you. Can you please come out for a while?" His voice made her changed her mind.

"Fine. I'm going to take my scarf, wait here."

"So what do you want to say? Make it fast." She crossed her hand over her chest. Tao wanted to just give her the container and put an end to it, but he had grow to love her, and he will not leave before making one last effort.

"Can I ask you to trust me? For one last time?"

Luna bit her lip. "No."

"Please, Luna, I- you might not believe me but I've changed. We've only been together for two weeks, don't you feel it's a waste if we stop this now?"

Luna was shocked by his sudden outburst. She never thought he would ever open up to her. But she was willing to break now than later when she has really fallen for him.

"No, if you only think me as Hara's replacement." Tao choke back his words at that.

Did he ever thought about that? Never. He did blackmailed her into being his girlfriend, but it was just because he wanted to prove Hara that she was wrong. Maybe he has been searching for her replacement all these while, that was why he could not stay with one girl.

He stepped back, and Luna felt her heart fell. She was really hoping he would say no, that he would say he really had fallen for her, just her, not a girl in Hara's place.

Tao gave her the paper bag he was holding all these while. She opened it and saw the blue container inside. Her eyes widened and she looked back at him in shock.

"You're right. I'm sorry. Your job is done, you don't have to pretend anymore. Goodbye Luna."

And he left.
