Chapter: 3

Paige was weary. She was going with a person she barely knew, and yet she wasn't weary at all. Her gut said that this was the right thing.

She opened the door to her apartment and flew her keys onto the table. It was huge.

"Sorry this place is a mess." Rosie gathered a few of her things from the floor. "I didn't expect company tonight." She looked up and stood still for a second, thinking.

"Wait no, i did. Never mind. I'm just a slob and lazy. You see," she started reassuming the collecting of various items which were scattered across the ground. "I thought it'd be dark."

She threw her things into a corner and suddenly everything went black. Paige squealed as she was pushed against the wall.
"Like now." Rosie huskily whispered into her ear.

Paige gulped and tried to stay calm, but her heart seemed to beat at a thousand miles an hour.
She squeezed her eyes shut. She was genuinely scared.

Rosie moved back and turned the light back on. "Told you, you were gullible." She laughed. "Straight girls are so fun to mess with."

She turned around and disappeared into a room. Paige stood in the door frame for a while until Rose peaked out from behind the door.

"You comin'?"
Paige hesitated. "I won't bite." She teased. "At least not yet."

Paige timidly hung up her jacket and slowly moved to what seemed to be the living room, where Rosie was already sitting, waiting.
"Rom-com, chick flick, soap opera or horror?" The dark haired girl asked without batting an eye.
"What?" Paige was too startled to actually process the question she was being asked. "Which movie do you want to watch?"

The part time waitress sat down on the edge of the couch. "Soap opera?" She asked timidly, scared that the other girl would mock her for her bad taste, but to her surprise Rosie just grabbed the remote and switched the channel to a sappy old show. "Soap opera it is!"

"Oh Julio!"
"Margarita my darling!"
"Julio, don't ever leave me again!"
"I won't my darling. Not ever again."

The man grabbed the woman by her shoulders and kissed her deeply.
Paige pulled her knees up to her chest and let her chin rest in the crease between them.

"Now that's love." She sighed. Rosie scoffed. "That's acting, my darling."
Paige turned to the side and glared at the girl.
"I can't, and I won't believe that they were not in love before filming this. You can't act that kind of passion."

"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Then let me kiss you."

Paige jumped up.
"What?! Why the hell would i do that?"
"Why not?" Rose smirked.
The other girl gulped.
"Look," Rose moved closer. "If you let me kiss you, i can show you that it's not real."
"I don't know."
"If you don't want to, that's fine too. I'm just saying that you kissed someone weird today already and i just wanted to make it better, by making it actually enjoyable."

Paige squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her hands into fists.
"Fine." She sighed and looked at the girl before her.

"Close your eyes." She hummed.
Paige did as she was told and felt her moving closer. She tensed up.
"Relax." Her voice was so soft and soothing it felt like she was encased in a warm pillow.

She moved her hand up to her face and a spark of electricity ran through her as she felt those soft lips against her own.
Rose slightly parted her lips. The kiss grew hotter and hotter as Paige melted under her touch. She It was like the air was being sucked out of her, but instead of pulling away for air, she didn't feel the need to breathe. She never wanted it to end.
She lost herself and then, it was all gone.

Within seconds it all vanished as she pulled away.

"See." Rose shrugged. "I told you."

Paige just stared at her wide eyed. She shook her head to snap herself out of her trance.
"W-whatever." She stuttered and cleared her throat. Paige reassumed her position from before and watched the drama.

Rosie laughed.
"You ok there, cupcake?"
"Shut up and watch the stupid movie."

The dark haired girl had to hold in a laugh.

"There is nothing funny about-"
Paige stopped and pulled out her phone. "Lars texted me."

"The guy?"
"No.. NO! EW! No, he's my best friend."
"Oh ok. What'd he write?"
"He wants to know where I am, so he can pick me up."
"Tell him. It's cool as long as he picks you up."
"Yeah..."

Silence.

"You don't want to go, do you?" Rose smirked.

"Of course I want to go!" Paige blushed.
"So you don't like it here?"
"That's not what I meant."
"Relax, kitty." Rose laughed. "I'm just messing with you."
"Haha very funny." Paige growled while typing. "He'll be here in five minutes."
