Chapter: 2
Paige couldn't tell if Lars was right, or if Matt was just a really bad kisser.
He had left the lights off when he pushed her against the wall and began kissing her.
Paige's heart beat harder and harder until it seemed to be stuck in her throat almost choking her. She pulled away for air only to be pulled back before she could breath properly. His hand started to slither up her thigh and into her pants when she felt that it was enough. She didn't want to go any further, but she remembered what Lars had said about getting a girlfriend. She gritted her teeth and let him do what he wanted to.
He started kissing down her neck when he stumbled upon her sweet spot. Her knees gave in, but he caught her.
He was surprisingly strong and thinking about it he was tall too.
Just as she finished that thought she felt herself being pushed onto the bed. He looked deep into her eyes and something inside her went off.
Paige could feel it in every muscle and in every bone. She sighed. "I can't do this." She got up. "I'm sorry." She swiftly gathered her things and stepped out leaving a confused and slightly horny Matt behind.
She walked around in the dark, trying to find her way home. She rubbed her sleeve across her lips trying to remove that disgustig taste he had left behind. She grabbed her phone and texted him. "Fuck you."
A reply withing seconds. "Ha! Told ya so."
She threw her phone onto the cold grass and sat down beneath the moon light.
"Fuck this." she sighed. "I'm just gonna sit here and not move." She sighed.
"Well that's not exactly a good idea."
Paige shot up. There was a tall girl with long dark hair standing right behind her. She looked so tomboyish with her baseball cap and her flannel shirt.
"No worries I was just out walking." Paige still couldn't grasp the situation.
"Are you ok?" The girl raised an eyebrow.
"Um yeah, sure. Sorry. You just kinda-"
"Startled you?"
"Yeah."
The girl chuckled. "I tend to have that effect on people."
Paige looked away. Her brain was so overwhelmed by thoughts. Why is she so pretty? Why is she out at this time of night? Why am I out at this time of night? Did I make a mistake? What did I do wrong?-
"Hey," the girl kneeled down next to Paige. "You ok?"
Paige shook her head. "Yeah I'm fine."
"You don't seem fine."
Paige looked at the girl.
"Is it that obvious?"
"Yes."
Paige sighed and threw herself back into the grass. She let out a hearty sigh and rubbed her hands across her face.
The girl sat down next to her.
"So," she started. "What mistake did you make that made you go out in the middle of the night despite the fact that the dark streets of Berlin are pretty scary?"
"A guy."
"Ohhhhhh. This sounds very amusing. Shoot!" The girl rubbed her hands together in excitement.
Paige didn't move a muscle.
"There's this guy, and during summer I serve coffee to him in my uncles coffee shop. And he's really sweet and quirky and smart-"
"Sounds like you fancy him."
Paige shot up.
"THATS THE PROBLEM!"
"What is?"
"He's perfect, but~"
"But you're not interested."
"It's not that I'm not interested it's just that as soon as we touch my body feels all weird."
The girl looked concerned.
"Has anyone had 'the talk' with you yet?"
"Oh shush. It's not that I feel aroused it just feels really REALLY wrong." Paige fell back into the grass.
"And now I don't know how to get home."
"That sucks."
"No shit Sherlock."
The two sat there and stared at the clouds that glossed over the full moon like cotton ripped to tiny shreds.
"Well," the girl said while looking up. "Have you ever thought that you might not be you know... Into guys?"
"Not you too." Paige groaned. "My best friend has been trying to tell me that I'm gay for about 5 years now."
"Oh wow. Well maybe there's some truth to it. You should try kissing a girl and see if it feels better than kissing a guy. That did it for me."
"You're gay."
"Oh please I am the stereotype Lesbian. I love beer, my closet is basically one big flannel shirt and on top of that I have a cat and I play softball."
"Really?"
"No actually that last one was a lie."
"Oh."
The girl laughed.
"You're really gullible, you know that?"
"I am not." Paige pouted.
The girl held in a laugh, but it didn't take long for both of them to start laughing hysterically.
The girls phone started ringing as they lay in the grass. She pulled it out of her back pocket and cussed.
Paige looked over a bit worried.
"What's wrong?"
"My stepdad wants me to get home. My moms freakin out because I'm not in my apartment."
"Your apartment?"
"Yeah, i live alone."
"How old are you."
"18. How old are you?"
"17. Why do you live alone?"
"I got sick of having to care for other people and my parents sex. God they were loud."
"Oh wow."
"I just noticed that I didn't catch your name."
"Paige Morgan."
"Rosetta Tatch, but i beg you to call me something else."
"Ok then Rosie," Paige smiled and got up. "It was very nice to meet you, but you should probably get home."
"Are you kidding?" Rosie shot up and looked irritated. "I am NOT going to let you stay out here all night by yourself."
"Well um-"
"You're staying at my place."
"I'm sorry but-"
"Two reasons- no THREE reasons why you should not say no."
Paige smirked and crossed her arms.
"I'm listening."
"First, Berlin is dangerous in the dark. Second, you would've stayed at a strangers house tonight anyway so it might as well be me. And third, we're not actually gonna go to sleep. I'm going to stay up and get you to the bus station tomorrow. Safely."
"Well you made some good points."
"I know."
"But! I barely know you and i have no clue where i am and you might be a serial killer."
"I used to play hokey as a kid but i broke my foot and when a girl patched me up i realized i was gay. I moved here exactly 2 weeks ago. My cats name is Minka and my parents are divorced. My stepdad is awesome my mom, not so much. I'm gonna finish school around the corner from here end of this summer and we are on Haupstraße 48. You good? Let's go, it's gettin' kinda creepy out here."
And before Paige could refuse the lesbian had already pulled her down a path she never knew existed.
