Chapter 11: Drunk
Taehyung had been watching us intently while he played the saxophone. When the song ended, he went over to Jin. Jin was still on the dance floor, heartily laughing at my reaction.
Flushed and with my heart racing, I sat down at the table.
"What's wrong Cora?" Heather asked me with a grin on her face.
"I just need a minute." I huffed, taking a deep breath.
"The two of you looked so good out there dancing!"Heather said approvingly.
"I'm rusty at dancing, but it was easy with Jin leading." I replied, starting to calm myself down.
"I saw how you two were looking at each other!" Heather's face lit up so brightly. She was having way too much fun at my expense.
"What are you talking about?" I laughed and shook my head.
"Yeah, like it's not obvious you two like each other." Heather rolled her eyes.
"Stop it!" I tried making her hush and glanced around to see if anyone heard her. Luckily, everyone was too busy chatting or enjoying the live band.
I didn't want people to even assume something like that.
"Well anyways, I'd like you to meet Mr. Park our COO and Mr. Kim, he's our CFO" Heather introduced me to all the Executives in the company.
I felt more confident with the wine in my system, and spoke with each of them briefly. They seemed to approve of me, and commented on how well I danced with Jin. After meeting every member of the executive board, I finally went back to our table again.
Jin and Taehyung were chatting and laughing in a corner, Mr. Bang came and joined them in their lively conversation.
"Cora have you met Mr. Bang?" Heather asked me as she pulled me towards the three men.
I suddenly felt nervous as I approached them. Mr.Bang did create this exceptional boy group that has taken over the world with their incredible music and message. There would be no BTS without this man.
I nervously bowed, "Annyeonghaseyo. Jeoneun Coraimnida. Cheoeum boepgesseumnida. (Hello. I'm Cora. Nice to meet you.) I'm a new intern with Skye incorporated."
"You speak Korean?" Mr. Bang asked me with a warm smile.
"A little bit." I answered meekly.
"That's great! I am pleased to meet you too." He looked happy to see I attempted to speak Korean.
There was a moment of awkward silence. Unsure of what else to say, I bowed and said, "I'll leave you all to finish your conversation,"
Mr.Bang bowed back and returned to talking to Jin and Taehyung. I backed away towards my table but kept an eye on the men.
"Heather, I think I'll get going." I sighed bored.
I felt ready to leave this place.
"Why? It's so early!" Heather exclaimed disappointingly.
"I have things to do..." I stared down at my hands.
"Like what? I know you don't have anything else planned." Heather saw through my lie.
"Have another drink." She poured me another glass from the bottle of wine on our table.
She knows I'm a lightweight, what is she doing?
I know my limit, and it's about two drinks. Anything past that, and I become a very flirty drunken fool. I was a bit worried about drinking at a work party, but I noticed a lot of people had several drinks already. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, drinking and dancing to the live band.
One more drink should be fine.
After I drank the glass, I felt the effects immediately. My legs felt wobbly, and I was a bit dizzy. Looking towards the two handsome men. I stood up with liquid courage coursing through me veins, nothing could stop me. I stumbled up to Jin, while he was still talking to Taehyung in the corner. I suddenly felt the urge to talk to Jin. I needed to tell him how I felt!
"You know your very handsome, Mr.Worldwide handsome!" I hiccuped and giggled, I've always loved his cute nickname.
The two men both paused and glanced at me wide eyed.
"Are you okay Cora?" Taehyung looked concerned, as he tilted his head like he was studying me.
"I'm fine, I just couldn't help it anymore, you guys are just so handsome! Both of you!" I slurred my words sloppily and grinned crookedly.
"Are we now?" Jin asked grinning, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes! I've had crushes on you guys since I was a teenager! I dreamed of marrying you!" My face flushed red from my sudden confession. After the words left my mouth, I quickly covered my mouth.
"Oh really?" Jin asked intrigued.
"Hyung, she's drunk we shouldn't encourage her." Taehyung turned to Jin.
"I'm not drunk! I'm just confessing my feelings for you guys!" I felt so free to say what I wanted with that liquid courage flowing in me.
"But now that I met you, I'm going crazy!" I pointed to Taehyung, "Taehyung you were my bias and you always used to make my heart flutter." I turned to Jin , "but now Jin, you're the one making my heart flutter! Why must you torment me so!"
"Oh wow, I make your heart flutter?" Jin couldn't contain his growing smile.
"Yes! I wish I could make it stop, but I..."
"Heather, your friend is speaking nonsense, please take care of her." Taehyung interrupted me, calling Heather over to us. She was nearby watching us, enjoying the spectacle I was making of myself.
"Oh my, I didn't know she had that much to drink! Oh, but I have to talk to Mr.Park about a business deal he's been wanting to talk to me about..."Heather said unconvincingly. "It's going to be at least an hour, before I can take her home." She glanced at Jin slyly.
"I'll take her home, where is her car?" Jin said suddenly, getting the hint.
Taehyung looked surprised, and opened his mouth to say something. "Are you sure hyung? I can take her." Taehyung offered.
"It's okay, I already know where she lives. I'll drive her in her car, then get a taxi home." Jin said to Taehyung.
"What are you guys saying over there?" I slurred my words as I clumsily joined them.
I was stumbling and almost fell! Damn these heels! I tried to get my footing, these heels were hard enough to walk in while sober. I felt my ankles shaking again.
Oh no!
I felt myself falling backwards, luckily Jin instantly caught me before I fell. His strong arms were holding me securely by the waist. He smelled divine as he held me close, looking into my eyes. I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach and an urge to stay with him like this.
"Let's go Cora, I'll drive you home." Jin said softly, our eyes locked into one another.
"Oh I'm fine Jin, I'll get a taxi home." I tried waving him off.
"I insist." Jin grabbed my wrist, and pulled me away.
"Bye Heather! Bye Taehyung!" I said as Jin dragged me away.
Taehyung's eyebrows furrowed as he watched us leave. Heather could barely contain her excitement, and quickly gave me a thumbs up. I suspected she planned this would happen. People were watching us leave and whispered among themselves, but I didn't care right now! All I could think of was that Jin was holding my hand!
Jin called over the valet to bring the car. I felt drowsy, and sat down on a bench as we waited. The valet brought the car promptly. Jin helped me up and helped me get into the car. I held on to him and looked up at his handsome face as he buckled me in. Those plump kissable lips looked so juicy. I licked my lips as I watched him close the door and walk around to the driver's side. Normally, I'd be embarrassed of my tiny old car, but all I could think of was how tired I was.
I'll take a short little nap while he drives.
I rested my eyes for just a moment, but was suddenly awoken by Jin shaking me, "Hey we're here."
"Huh? What? We're here already! Wow! Okay thanks for the ride!" I drunkenly said in confusion as I tried to escape the car.
"Let me help you inside at least," Jin offered.
"I'll be ok..." I stumbled out of the car, and walked up the steps.
That nap didn't help at all!
Okay Cora just walk, I'm doing great!
Like a newborn deer, I wobbled slowly towards my door to open it.
"Cora, that's not your apartment!" Jin shouted, as he saw me struggling to open the wrong door with my key.
"Oh right, yes it's the one next to it." I giggled when I realized my mistake.
"Here let me help you." Jin scoffed and walked over. He impatiently put my house key in to let me in.
I turned around, and Jin was standing there looking absolutely breathtakingly handsome. I wanted to hold him so badly, and feel those strong arms wrapped around me again. He looked me in the eyes, and my cheeks grew hot. Those butterflies were in my stomach again.
"Good night Cora, get some rest!" Jin said as he stepped away.
"Wait!" I said, before he closed my door.
Okay here goes nothing!
I went in to wrap my arms around him for a hug. Right before I could, he took my hands, and gently pushed them away.
"What the hell?" I stood in disbelief.
"Look Cora. I think you're a nice girl. I don't want you to get the wrong idea. I'm just helping you out. Go inside."
I slammed the door feeling like I would die of embarrassment.
Why did I do that?!
