#Chapter-18

Ifza's pov :

This long and everlasting day finally came to an end. It's past the midnight and all the sequences of my miserable life and scariest dreams and reality possessed my sleep routine.

I decided to offer the night prayers. It feels so safe and soothing when you bow down infront of your lord and cries your heart out.

~Quran 40:60

And your Lord says,

"Call upon me ; I will respond to you."

After completing the prayers and recitation of salutations and Duas, I felt my heart at ease.

Later I stood at the window looking at the bluish black sky and the fading moon, feeling the peaceful wind blowing through my heavy thoughts.

For a moment I forgot what I was going through until I saw him, staring at me with his eyes wide open. I don't know why his eyes always catches mine as they are waiting for mine to make a contact with them.

"Ruhaan?" I whispered. He was standing near the tree where I first learned he's not a human. While I was still standing at window. I know he could listen the whisper standing afar.

"Hello Gorgeous!" he played his favourite grin on his lips.

"Can we talk?" I asked.

I recalled his story about the past and the way he begged for me to trust him, it made my heart sank in sorrow. The people who look strong, confident and fearless, God knows what they're hiding behind their face masks.

I jumped out of skin when he whispered "I'm right here" in my ear, standing behind me.

I completely forgot about his teleporting abilities. He really needs to stops getting disappeared and reappearing thing. It scares the hell outta me.

"Was that necessary?"  I screamed stomping on the floor.

"No Gorgeous, that was easy" he replied winking at me.

"you know, the perks of being a-"

"A GHOST?" I said interrupting him.

"I'm NOT. A. GHOST." he wailed gritting his teeth.

"Huh? When a person is back from the dead, if not ghost what do you call him? A Dinosaur?"  I said mockingly.

There was a sudden change in his playful mood. His cheeks became red. This is the moment where I should really get scared of him but I don't know what's wrong with my utterly confident guts. They pop up at the wrong time infront of the wrong person. I instead stood upright glaring right into his eyes and pissing his nerves even more.

"You know what, your right, I'm a GHOST. And this is what a ghosts does." his foul mood rendered back to his mischievous grin.

The lights of my room started flickering when he waved his hand in the air.

"What the hell are you doing?" I yelled.

"Living upto your expectations. Behaving like a ghost, Gorgeous." he lifted his another arm, moving a step towards me.  All the things in my room, were now floating around us.

With his stiffen gaze and vile smirk, he pinned me to wall in between his long muscular arms.

"Tough girl Haan? Trying so hard not be scared." he teased, enjoying my restlessness.

"If you think you can scare me with these tricks, then you are very wrong Mr. Ruhaan. I'm not afraid of you." Even though my heart was pounding uncontrollably,I pretty much managed to raise my voice against him ignoring the fact how close he's standing.

"Why not?" he was confused on my reaction.

His gaze finally shifted from eyes but caught the glimpse of my lower lip when I was trying to bit it out of nervousness.

"Because I- .... I trust you" I managed to escape these words out.

There was a loud thud, in a flash every object flowing in air came crashing onto the floor. Flickering lights were back to normal altogether within a second I confessed why I'm not afraid of him.

I stood amped in his arms and he leaned very close to whisper in my ear, "Your Dad!"

I shook like a leaf to the furious knock on the door. "Princess, you okay?" my dad called.

I was agitated to the situation. How am I gonna explain this mess, all the shattered things lying around in here to my dad, once I open the door.

"I heard a loud noise. What was that?" he came in rushing traumatized.

"You okay darling?" he asked softly brushing my hairs.

I was amazed to Dad's reaction to my messed up room but there was nothing on the floor when I turned to have a look. He made the things as they were before, perfectly arranged. I was honestly impressed by his little hocus pocus tricks.

"What are you smiling at? You alright?" dad's query intruded my thoughts.

"Yes Dad, I'm perfectly fine."

"But, I think I heard the noise. Were u talking to someone here?"

"Dad! I was talking to Ramsh."

"-liar!" Ruhaan whispered which was only audible to me.

"You know how dramatic she can be. We were planning to skip the college today."

"Okay, just for your information, you know today is Sunday." he mused, raising one of his brow.

Ruhaan busted out laughing.

I was standing like a embarrassed, dumb struck."Dad, uh...there's one more hour for fajr(morning prayer). You should go and rest, bye! " I rushed him out of the room. Thankfully he left without any further inspection, laughing on my silly lie.

Zafar's pov :

-in his room

"Kinza? Wake up?"

"What happened, Khalid?" she replied rubbing her eyes.

"what's the matter? What's so funny?" confused on my laughter she added.

"I'm coming from Ifza's room." I chuckled.

"Why? Is she alright?" she yelled.

"Relax. She's fine. I heard some noise from her room, she was talking to someone. But when I asked her, she lied, made excuses and you know how terrible she's at lying. She can't look straight into the eyes while lying." I explained.

"what are you trying to say?" she was still in amazement.

"Oho, remember the days of our time. After our engagement, how we used to talk, hiding from our parents and family in the night. How we used to cover-up when we got caught while talking." I recalled the most happening moments of my life.

"You mean, it's Zain? Is she talking to Zain." she chuckled.

"I knew it, all this time she kept denying nevertheless she likes him." she added.

"I think she's scared of admitting it to us." I know it is hard for a daughter to confess her feelings.

"Khalid, I think we should fix the date of engagement now, What do you think?"

"If this is what she want, I don't have any problem. And actually I've been waiting to see her as his bride." I can't even express my happiness. I never wanted her to marry Zain forcefully. She made up to my expectations. Zain can be the best partner she can get.

"Okay, I'll call Saman today itself. No more delays now." she jumped in happiness.

Ifza's pov :

I turned towards the Ghost who caused all this mess, who was still laughing.

"What's so funny? It's all because of you." I groaned.

"Wait, what? -heh...you cannot lie and that's my fault? You silly."

"No...you made me lie and that's your fault."

"My apologies" he replied in a heart melting tone like a gentleman.

"-but, God seriously, you got caught twice while lying. I'm sorry I couldn't hold it" he started laughing again.

"Innocent people are bad at lying." I whined.

"or maybe your friend Ramsh, she's so unlucky for you" he said sarcastically.

"Ramsh can't be unlucky for me, she's a blessing, she's my family. I'm the one who's unlucky. Misfortune surrounds me." tears found their way down my cheeks. I realized what a messy, spooky and terrible life I'm living.

"Hey, you crying?" he whispered wiping off my tears.

"you are the strongest person I've ever seen. Don't give up so quickly without a fight. Everything will be fine, okay!" he held my face, caressing my cheeks with his cold palms.

"I'm scared Ruhaan." I couldn't help but to cry my heart out to him.

"Don't be. I'm here for you. I'll help you in every possible way. I promise." he mumbled looking into my eyes. His mesmerizing, exquisite hazel eyes has a hypnotic effect on me. I knew, if I stare any longer into his eyes, I'll be lost in the deep oceans of secrets they were hiding.

"Ahem...uh...why are you in this situation." I changed the topic, parting myself away from him and his intimacy.

"Do you have some unfinished business in this world? Like finding true love or a revenge something?" I added.

"Firstly, I'm not a ghost. Secondly my life is not a horror movie. Things doesn't go like the way you are describing. And the last, I'm here to discuss your problem, so kindly we shall get on to it." he replied mockingly.
Whenever I consider him as a gentleman, he'll definitely proves me wrong.

"Why me?" I managed to whisper taking my measures not to piss him with my ignorant query.

"Honestly, I have no idea, why and how you can see me, while the rest of the world can't" he exclaimed.

"This should be connected with my dreams and all those threats I'm facing."

"Bravo!" I rolled my eyes on his ridicule comment.

"Yeah, this has some connection to your dreams. You said threats?" he added glancing over my annoyed expressions.

"Yeah, all the time in my dreams, I either have been running or you have been giving the same warnings to run. I even saw my Janazah and that white ghost girl she warned me to stay away and not to get involved. I don't know what I've to avoid?"

"She's not just a ghost, she's a jinn." he mused.

I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard him saying jinn. I've heard of Jinns but never thought I'll be coming across any of them. Jinns are the supernatural creatures, they're called spirits or demons.

"They're warning you, not to get involved in their actions." my heart was pounding as if it is gonna explode inside me on hearing every word coming from him. Tears found their way down my cheeks again. No matter how strong I pretend to be, the situation is getting darker and terrible.

"Don't waste your precious tears, gorgeous. You are a tough person. Won't be easy to defeat you, no matter whatever the creature opposing you." he whispered wiping my tears in his mesmerizing tone.

"Beside, I know exactly who can help us out with this sh*t." nothing but the word 'us' echoed a bit louder in my mind. I imagined myself beside him. His intensely ravishing eyes captured my teary eyes making me blush.

"I'll be back soon." he before disappearing, dragged me out of my delusional world. I shook the insanse thoughts running over my mind.

"Ohh god, Ifza how stupid you are. He's a ghost." I scolded myself.

Ruhaan's pov :

"I'll be back soon."

I left her, to find the appropriate man who could answer the mystrey. And here he comes.

I saw Hodja coming out of the mosque offering the morning prayers.

"What the hell do you want?" he stopped in the middle of his way back home.

"Hello to you too!" I replied making myself visible to him.

"I think I made myself very clear. I will not help you." he wailed.

"Yeah, yeah, you're not interested in any of my matters. You don't want to me help. You'll cage me in and blah blah blah." I smirked. I don't know the reason behind your annoyance but I love getting on his nerves.

"Then you must know, I wasn't joking. Go away." he turned around to leave.

"There's a girl, who could see me." I yelled.

"I know, you don't believe this. But trust me it is. She could see me. She talks to me, and even she can...she can...feel me." I claimed.

"No way." he shuttered.

"She's needs your help. I think she's been haunted by some spirits." I continued. Thank god he decided to listen me out.

"Jinns?" he mused.

"Yes. Jinns. They're reaching her through dreams. She saw her Janazah, and some darkness dragging her,  a man eating dead bodies, a stuffed toy talking to her, and she's been seeing red blazing eyes--" I tried explaining her situation.

"That's you?!" he seemed a lil worried. I know he's a lot more concerned when it comes to me.

"You think so? And yeah all of these dreams, she's been warned by the Jinns to avoid something."

"Allah hu Akbar (Allah is greatest)! She's cursed." he mumbled.
