That Night

"So, you were saying that the pager you just found was a caller for a girl who was wearing a tight suit?" Rhodes repeat as Steve nod while the others was listening carefully and quite interested.

Suddenly, a blast outside was make them blind and then Carol suddenly appeared with a straight face making the other look at her in shock even Steve, Bruce and Natasha.

"I thought...you were in the room?" Steve said looking at Carol dumbstruck.

"Sorry, I just want to test something." She said plainly as her eyes wandered through the new faces with a confusion of her own face.

"Who is she?" Nebula asked emotionlessly making Carol look at her up and down then look back at Steve.

"She was the one we were talking about." Natasha answered making the others let out a sound of understament.

"The dinners ready, let's eat." Steve announced making the others walk through the big and long table, taking a sit. Steve turned back to Carol with a smile making Carol feel a little uneasy about his smile. It's so pure, innocent and...cute. She shake her head at that thought and look at the Captain who was waiting patiently for her answer.

"Let's go?"

"Yeah."

Natasha look at the two with a smile as they walk towards the table and take a sit opposite to each other.

'Well, something's going on between the two Captains.' She thought smiling at herself before taking a bite at her steak.

teve suddenly feel a nudge at his side making him look at his side (which Natasha by the way) and look at her with raise brow.

"Sorry." Natasha said with a teasing tone making the innocent Captain smile at her taking it as a real apology.

"It's okay." Steve comforted and start eating again making Natasha sigh internally while chewing the steak she bite.

'This ship will be a quite tough to seal.' Natasha thought shaking her head at how dense her Captain/friend is and thinking about Carol, she didn't quite know a human feelings because of how she lost her memories and became a half-kree making it twice harder than Natasha expected.

"I'm so full." Scott whine as he rub his stomach.

Nebula scoffed. "You just ate 5 plates of that food." She said harshly making Scott look at her defended but as he inhale and exhale it hurts.

"Okay, we need to rest now. Tomorrow is a tough day for all of us, because we're gonna do it." Steve said with a serious tone making the other look at each other in determination but yawn as they really want to jump on there beds.

"Good night, Cap." The other Avengers said as they walk past to Steve who was also whispering good night to them.

And when he though he was already alone suddenly, Carol appeared out of nowhere making Steve turned to her with a curiousity burning through his blue eyes as he raised a brow.

"What are you still doing here?" He asked not wanting to sound rude as he watch her walk through the couch and sit.

"You, what are you still doing here?" She repeat his question.

"I was about to walk back to my room, when you suddenly appeared and sit on the couch." He answered making her nod as she stands up and walk closer to him making him gulped internally as their eyes make a contact and a sudden unfamiliar feelings bloom into their chest.

"Do you need me to accompany you to your room?" Steve asked politely still not wanting to broke the contact between their eyes, Carol smiles making his heart skip a bit as his eyes wandered down to her lips but after a second he brings it back to her brown eyes.

"If you don't mind." Carol answered making Steve smiles.

"I wouldn't." Steve answered as they walk to their rooms but Carol's room was closer so as they make it to the door the two Captains bid a good night to each other as they went to their rooms with a visible smile on their faces as they go to sleep.
