Chapter 5

We drove to the Egyptian borders and came to a check point.

"These are my people. I'm one-thirty-six Arab," Simmons said.

A very short human came up to us.

"Great, a freaking Munchkin! Little people are mean. Tell him he's tall," Wheelie suggested.

"This, this is my family. This is my son, my daughter, my other son. We're tourists, from New York," Simmons explained.

"Oh, New York!" the Egyptian human said as he told the guards something I couldn't understand.

A second later, the gate opened and we drove through.

"Thank you," Simmons said.
"Go Yankees!" the small human shouted behind us.
"So, now where?" Sam asked.

"When dawn lights the Dagger's Tip, Three Kings will reveal a doorway," Simmons recited.

"You got any idea what that means?" Sam asked.
"Nope," he replied.

We found a place to spend the night, as it was getting dark.

"You guys go get some rest. We'll stay alert," I told them.

They nodded as they got out and went into an abandoned building. We transformed and I turned toward the Twins.

"Behave and be quiet. The humans need silence to sleep," I told them and they nodded.

I sighed as I walked to the other side of the building. I crossed my arms and looked up at the stars. I started thinking about my brother and decided to check in with him.

"Hey bro. Any luck?" I asked over the com.

"Yeah. I found her, but she lost a lot of energon. We're almost back to base now. What about you?" he asked.

I could hear the worry in his voice.
"Well...we're in Egypt."
"Egypt? How'd you get there so fast?"
"Long story. Anyway, I'll let you get back."
"Alright. Talk to you later."

I was about to call Optimus, but then I remembered. I sighed and continued watching the sky.

I miss you, Optimus. I really hope this works.

The stars were very slowly disappearing under the horizon as dawn approached.

"Blue! Skids! Mudflap!"

I turned around to see the humans run out of the building.

"We know where the tomb is!" Sam exclaimed excitedly.

"Alright! Let's go, then," I said as I transformed.

They forced Wheelie and Leo to ride with Skids while Sam, Mikaela, and Simmons rode with me.

"The mountains of Petra," Simmons said as he told me how to get there.

Once we arrived, everyone got out and we transformed.

"We're trusting old Grandpa Blackbird, who can't even remember which planet he's on?" Leo asked.

"Well, in his defense, this is the biggest doorway I've seen in my life," Simmons replied.

"All right. Let me do a quick check," Leo said as he spun around.

"Nope! Doesn't look like archeologists have been here, guys?" he added.

"Hey, if you want to bail, be my guest. Have fun walking around in this barren, smelting hot desert but we're checking this out, with or without you," I told him.

"Fine," I heard Leo mumble.

I smirked and walked into the Petra only to see Skids push Mudflap into a painting as the humans dove for cover. I shook my head as I walked over and picked them both up. I smashed them together before throwing them outside. I came back to see the humans tearing away pieces of the painting on the wall. I bent down and looked closer. I gasped when I realized what was behind there.

"Cybertronian metal. This has to be it," I said.
"Can you blast it open?" Simmons asked.

I nodded and they backed away. I took out my blaster and shot at the wall. Wind suddenly blew inside but died down after a few seconds. I followed them in and looked around in awe. It was eerily peaceful. Even though they were long gone, being in the presence of some of the original Primes made me feel safe and at peace, yet on edge because I knew they were so much more powerful than I was and ever will be. Suddenly, the image of Optimus kneeling flashed in my mind. Though it only lasted an astrosecond, it was enough to make me freeze.

Did that mean anything or is my mind just playing tricks on me?

Optimus was a Prime and he is...gone.
No. He's not gone. We'll get him back.

When I came back to reality, I realized Sam was scooping dust into a sock.

"Sam, it's over. The Matrix is nothing but dust now. How's that possibly going to bring Optimus back?" Mikaela asked.

"I don't know how, but I know it will," he replied.
"How do you know?" Simmons asked.
Sam stopped and looked at him.
"Because I have faith," he answered as he stood up.
"I agree. It will work somehow," I said.

Mikaela and Simmons sighed but Sam smiled at me. I returned the smile before walking out. Skids, Mudflap and I transformed. The humans came out, again forcing Leo to ride with the Twins.

"We need to call NEST and get them to bring Optimus over here," Sam said.

"I can com Bee," I mentioned.

"Okay, but we should call Lennox too," Sam suggested.

"Good plan, except where are we gonna find a phone?" Simmons asked.

"There's a city a few miles north of here," I replied.

"Then we go there. They should have a public phone somewhere," Sam said.

I drove as fast as I could. When we got there after about half a megacycle, they got out.

"Skids, Mudflap, Wheelie, go with them. Recon only. Understand?" I told the Twins.

"Yes ma'am!" the replied in unison.
Those two are going to be the death of me.

"I'm gonna scout ahead and com Bee," I said before driving off.

I drove to a big hill just half a mile outside the city. I went behind it and transformed.

"Hey Bee. How's Star?" I asked.

"Hey sis. She's awake and alive. How are you guys in Egypt?" Bee replied.

"Well, let's just say our only way of bringing Optimus back turned to dust. However, Sam and I believe it will still work somehow. The humans are calling Lennox right now, so get ready to come over here," I explained.

"Sweet! I've always wanted to see the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx," he commented excitedly.

"Haha, don't worry. We'll have plenty of time for sightseeing. Besides, I'm sure the Pyramids at night would be romantic," I said with a smirk.

"Very funny. Actually, she knows," Bee said.

"That's awesome! I'm so happy for you two!" I told him.

"Anyway, I should get back to the others. The Twins might have already gotten themselves into trouble," I added.

"Right. See you soon," he said.

"See you soon, bro," I replied before transforming and driving back to the city.

I found the others easily.
"So?" I asked.
"We' good," Simmons replied.
"Alright. Next mission: find the machine," I said.
"And how exactly do we do that?" Sam asked.

"Split up. Simmons, Leo, you two go with Skids and Mudflap. Sam, Mikaela, Wheelie, you three stay with me," I said.

Everyone nodded, except for Leo, who just groaned. I laughed silently to myself as they got in. The Twins went east, but I stayed near the city to help out NEST. Plus, we kinda needed Sam to somehow miraculously resurrect Optimus.

*time skip a few hours brought to you by the Orange Smoke*

A few hours passed by peacefully. The thunder from a flock of military airplanes suddenly rumbled through the air. I stopped driving and looked up to see many humans, along with Optimus and the rest of the Autobots gently floating to the sand below. It was then that I realized I had accidentally driven a few miles away.

"Scrap," I mumbled as I quickly drove back.

We were almost there when something exploded in front of me, forcing me to transform. I landed on my back and saw Sam and Mikaela quickly getting up.

"Run!" I called to them.

They nodded and started to run as fast as they could. I got up and looked around quickly before following close behind. I shot at the Cons as we made our way to Optimus. Suddenly I got shot from behind and fell to the ground. A burning pain ran through my body. I tried to get up, but I couldn't. My vision became blurry and blackness overtook me.

"BlueStreak."

I opened my optics and stood up. I looked around and realized I wasn't on Earth anymore.

"Where am I? Who are you?" I asked.

I saw six figures walk in front of the light. Even though I couldn't see specific details, I immediately knew who they were. I knelt down on one knee out of respect because they were the original Primes.

"Rise, young warrior. You have proven yourself loyal to the Autobots," one of them said.

Huh. I didn't know you had to prove yourself.
I stood up and noticed a smaller, chubby Prime.

"We have been watching you very closely every day of your life. We have seen how you care about others," he said.

Thanks...I think?
"Do you love Optimus?" one of the taller ones asked.
"Of course. I love him with all my spark," I replied.

"So then you are willing to die for him?" the chubby one asked.

"I would die a million times for him if I had to," I answered right away.

They looked at each other for a moment.

"Very well. Return then to the battle. The team needs you," one said.

I gave them a nod. The scene faded away and soon blackness overtook my vision once again.

********************

I opened my optics, back in the real world. I saw Star right by me.

"Hey, you made it," I said.

"Well dur who else is going to make sure you don't die?" Star asked as she put her stuff away.

I chuckled as I stood up.

"Thanks," I said with a smile before running off to find Sam and Mikaela.

After a minute, I found them with Epps and Lennox.
"I hope those F-16s got good aim," Epps commented.
"Yeah? Why's that?" Lennox asked.
"I told them to hit the orange smoke," Epps replied.
Lennox slowly looked over to the right.
"You mean that orange smoke?" he asked.
"It wasn't my best toss, okay?" Epps admitted.

Lennox looked back at him for a moment before both of them yelled, "RUUNNN!"

They started to run as fast as they could. Ironhide and I followed.
