Who is Thomas Crane?

Loki walks down the hallway.

Paintings are hooked to the wall. Loki can feel all eyes on him even though the paintings are lifeless. His eyes glance from painting to painting. He feels paranoid as though their eyes are stalking him. A creepy cold feeling travels up Loki's skin. Am I imagining things or is there some paintings that have the same people?, Loki thought.

Loki turns towards one painting where he saw a frightened woman on the run from moving shadows. The fear in her eyes are surely real. In his mind Loki can hear her cries for help of any sorts. Loki looks down towards the corner of the painting to see a signature 'Benjamin Lefrank'.

"I knew that man," Loki said. Loki squints at the painting once more. "I...I knew him?" Loki scratches his head feeling curls instead of spiky hair. "How can I know a dead man?"

Loki, puzzled, takes his hand out of his hair then turns towards the direction he was going and resumes walking holding a paper in his hand. Maybe I have seen other paintings this man has made, Loki theorizes, Perhaps I am a fan? Being a fan of a long gone artist is perhaps reasonable.

He stops at room 13 where there is crime scene duct tape.

Loki looks down towards the crumbled notebook paper and then back towards the room number.

"My unlucky number," Loki said, putting the wrinkled paper into his pocket. "How fitting."

Loki looks around then ducks under the tape into the apartment.

There is a left over bowl of cereal on the table that stinks. Ew, Loki thought pinching his nose, Joy forgot to clean up her mess. He walks further into the apartment until a golden text on a piece of paper on the counter caught his attention. Loki carefully takes it out of a pile of letters while still pinching his nose of the horrid stench. He can tell there is invisible ink that of a circle in the background to the letter.

"Must...Clean that bowl," Loki said, putting the letter down.

Loki puts the bowl into the sink, turns the faucet on, and moves the extendable sink part out into the bowl all the while pinching his nose. He watches the milky spoiled squares go down the drain one after another. The bowl is clean after a good rinse with soap. Ah, Loki thought taking his hand off his nose, much better. Loki puts the now clean but still dirty bowl into the dish washer with the spoon.

Loki closes the dishwasher.

Loki goes over to the letter and reads it.

"The Great Painting invites you to stay," Loki read out loud. Loki quivers his brows. "How does a painting send a invitation when it cannot?"

"I was about to ask you," Came a thick Oregon accent male voice.

Loki turns around to see Jacob Steel with a rather short man being Foryer.

"Who are you?" Jacob asks.

Loki blinks at first.

"I don't know," Loki said.

"How did you get in here without us seeing?" Foryer asks.

"I ducked under the tape," Loki said. "How did you two get in here?"

"The vents," Foryer and Jacob lied.

Loki frowns.

"I can tell you are lying," Loki said.

"We used a gate way," Foryer said. "Where is Joy?" Loki's face falters. "We are visiting her."

Loki sighs.

"Joy is currently missing," Loki said.

"But I got a phone call an hour ago from her," Jacob said.

"How did she sound?" Loki asks.

"Cautious, wary, and..." Jacob said. "Not babbling 90 words per minute...We don't call each other a lot because she prefers to use a payphone rather than a cell phone, oddly. She doesn't make much calls."

"Really, what is your name?" Foryer asks.

"The one I know of," Loki said. "Thomas Crane. I have no memory of who I am."

Foryer and Jacob share a puzzled facial reaction.

"No memory, what so ever?" Jacob asks, in shock.

"I am slowly remembering," Loki said. "But not the important parts."

"Woah," Jacob said. "That is sad."

"Who is Thomas Crane?" Foryer asks.

"That is a question I want to answer," Loki said.

"So about this painting," Jacob said. "Is there any chance the letter refers to the painting as something great?"

"Yes," Loki said. "The Great Painting."

Foryer's face turns white.

"Oh hell," Foryer said. "We need to go to the art museum!"

Foryer speeds off into the next room vanishing before Loki's eyes.

"Well, catch you later?" Jacob asks.

"You are realm travelers!" Loki said.

"Hahaha, no," Jacob said.

"Then I am coming with," Loki said.
