ELEANOR WAS THANKFUL that the whole car ride was silent and the driver was Logan, not Charles. It gave her the time to think properly about her recent actions. She still couldn't believe that she was in the same vehicle with Erik, the man she had once loved with all her heart and left her for his ambitions.

She fanned herself as heat crept up her cheeks. She could feel Erik's stare behind her and it was making her uncomfortable. Ten years and he still had the same effect on her.

This brought her back to the nights where they would stare up at the sky, watching the stars and he would just watch her talk. He would then tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear and whisper sweet things that would make her heart swoon. After they had left her cabin to settle in one of their safehouses, Erik took it upon himself to often visit her, encouraging her to embrace her mutation. She clenched her fist and released a steady breath. She needed to stop reminiscing their times together, it would only hurt even more. An hour from now and she would now be away from him. She wouldn't have to lay eyes on him again.

Truth be told, despite being mad with him for his actions, Eleanor still wanted to just embrace him and convince him to just let his rage go. She just wanted him to come back to her. However, she doubted he was willing to let go of his desire to exterminate humans.

Her thoughts then drifted to Charles who was sitting beside Hank at the back, his eyes directed outside the car window. Slowly, as she studied Charles Xavier further, she came to the conclusion why she had married the man. Charles was incredibly charming and handsome. It was just that right now, he was broken and lost. Everything was taken away from him and he just wanted to forget. He wanted to forget other people's pain as well as his own. Eleanor assumed that his dull blue eyes were as vibrant as his dreams before. The man just needed a push in the right direction again.

She wondered if things would remain the same. With this reversing history, will something change? Or will she still be resigned to the same fate? Would she really move on from Erik and love Charles? How was that even possible? How did it even happen?

The car soon parked in front of a private plane. Everyone went out of the car except her. This was it. Her job was done. She had freed Valerie Swan so that means she could go home now, right? That was proven wrong when Logan knocked her car window, urging her to come out. She opened it slightly to talk with him.

"I believe I'm done here, Logan. I did what you asked of me. I'm going home." She said.

Logan shook his head, sighing. "Look, ma'am, Erik said you'd balance us all together and as much as I hate to say this, he's right. At this time, Charles and Erik are not on good terms. I won't be surprised if these two suddenly attack each other. I need someone who'll be focused on this solely."

Eleanor wrung her hands together. More time with Erik and Charles? Sounds like a recipe for disaster. She wanted to reject Logan's attempt to convince her, but as she stared up, she saw the weariness in his eyes. He just desperately wanted to change things to save everyone in his future. She then knew it in herself she wanted to help. She nodded and finally got out of the car, following him inside the plane.

She caught sight of the young Maximoff outside, carrying his bags. "Hey, kid." She called. "I'm sorry for earlier. Take care of yourself, alright? Take things slow."

"I'll try." replied Peter, cheekily. Eleanor chuckled and shook her head.

Upon entering, Valerie welcomed her inside and handed her a couple of new garments to change. After she had fully changed, she settled with Logan who was reading the newspaper. "I want to sit here. Is that okay?" She asked, brushing aside her still damp hair.

"Suit yourself, ma'am."

"So, um, what was I like in the future?" She questioned, licking her lips. She had wanted to ask that for quite a while. A little peek at what she had become would be nice.

Logan put down his newspaper and looked up. "Inspiring, kind, compassionate, always saw the best in people." described the immortal, sniffing. "You and Charles always saw the bright side of things. You two were just so damn optimistic, it's infectious."

Eleanor laughed, trying to picture herself like that. How did she return to her old self? Her eyes moved to the bottle of Whiskey at their table and she poured herself a drink. "How did Charles and I meet?" She sipped, letting the drink burn in her throat.

He shrugged. "I don't know. All I knew was that you guys met in 1974 and got married months later. The students told me it was love at first sight." He responded. "But after seeing your reaction on meeting Charles, I doubt that it was."

A brief chuckle escaped her lips. She was indeed kind of harsh with Charles when they first met, but she guessed it was the shock and the confusion of it all. "So, how did the two of us meet?"

"I... well, I..." he scratched his head, snorting. "I held you hostage because I thought you were attacking me."

"What?"

"Yeah," he grunted. "And then you blurred my vision and calmed me down."

Eleanor chuckled, trying to imagine the scenario. "That's a very interesting first meeting." She mused, crossing her arms, now intrigued to know more. Logan slightly rolled his eyes, but his lips curled into a smile. "I'm assuming we were great friends."

"We were. You became my mentor, you and Charles. Helped me retrieve my lost memories." He explained, gruffly.

"That's great to hear, Wolfy."

Logan chuckled, shaking his head.

"What's funny?"

"Just... some things never change." He poured himself a drink too. "That's what you called me when we first met." Eleanor tilted her head to the side, wanting to hear more. "You still have this weird love for creating nicknames ending with y. Icy, Wolfy, Stormy, Sunny, Beasty."

"What did I call Charles?"

"Baldy."

Eleanor bit her lip, trying her best not to burst out in laughter. Charles... bald? That would be a sight to behold. Very professor-like.

"And Erik?"

"Steely, ma'am."

"Why do you keep calling me ma'am?"

"Sorry, I got used to it. You didn't like me calling you Mrs. Xavier. Said it was too formal, so I called you ma'am instead."

"Isn't that formal too?"

Logan smirked. "Yeah, but you let me be. Grew tired of correcting me."

Eleanor smiled and sipped her drink once again. "You had a son, you know... and a grandchild." informed Logan. This piqued her interest and she leant forward.

"What are their names?"

"Nathaniel and Atlas."

The brunette didn't know why, but her heart clenched after hearing their names. Was it possible to long for a child you haven't given birth to? She swallowed. She already had an experience with that after she lost one years ago. She was about to ask what her son was like when Erik suddenly emerged from the comfort room, buttoning up his shirt. His gaze immediately fell on her, but she averted her eyes, looking outside the window. She heard him sigh and reach out for the newspaper in the table, but Logan trapped it with his skeletal claws, preventing Erik from taking it.

The tall man snorted and walked away. "Imagine if they were metal." remarked Erik. "Where did they dig you up?"

At this, Logan leant forward, serious. "You're gonna find this hard to believe this, but uh... you sent me. You and Charles, from the future."

Logan then clarified everything for him and Eleanor chose not to listen to their conversation. Her mind was too busy thinking about the future. She had a son. She had a son with Charles. What was he even like? Was he --

"Why are you here, Eleanor?" asked Erik, taking her away from her thoughts.

Not turning around, she responded, coldly. "I don't know."

As if he didn't catch the hint of irritation in her tone, he continued. "Last time we've seen each other, you were..."

"NaΓ―ve?" She offered, bitterly.

"Kinder, vibrant, happier..." Erik enumerated.

She tsked. "Life killed the Eleanor you knew. I'm not her anymore."

A tense silence soon followed between them all. "Who insisted she come along?" Erik inquired to Logan.

"You and Valerie."

He was about to ask another question, but the others soon entered the plane. Charles sat across Erik, eyeing him intensely. Eleanor knew it would only take a spark to ignite the fire. It was as if there was a ticking time bomb between them. A few minutes later, the plane was finally in the air and Erik chose to speak first which would prove to be a wrong move later on.

"How did you lose them?"

"The treatment for my spine affects my DNA."

"You sacrificed your powers so you could walk?" exasperated Erik.

"I sacrificed my powers so I could sleep." Charles angrily replied. "What do you know about it?"

"I've lost my fair share."

The English man let out a bark of derision. "Dry your eyes, Erik." He snarled. "It doesn't justify what you've done."

"You have no idea what I've done."

"I know you took the things that meant the most to me." Charles argued.

"Well, maybe you should have fought harder for them." countered Erik, angrily.

And there goes the bomb exploding.

Charles stood up, abruptly and so did Erik. Eleanor shared a panicked glance at Logan and they both knew they had to get in between them. "If you want a fight Erik, I will give you a fight!"

"Sit down!"

"Let him come." Erik prompted. At this, Charles seized him by the front of his shirt, now fully emotional and murderous. "You abandoned me! You took her away and you abandoned me! As if that wasn't enough, you took Valerie with you! Convinced her to join you!"

"Charles, enough!" Valerie yelled from the cockpit. She was co-piloting with Hank.

"Angel." Erik started, furious as he continued reciting. "Azazel. Emma. Banshee. Mutant brothers and sisters, all dead!" As his voice grew louder and angrier, the jet began to shake and decompress. Eleanor had to grab tight on her seat as the plane started to fall. Erik's anger affected the plane's stability and she knew she had to do something before they'll all be killed. "Countless others experimented on, butchered!"

"Erik!" Valerie and Hank shouted his name, attempting to get his attention. Eleanor saw a blue forcefield slowly cover the outside of their plane and telepathically heard the co-pilot's struggle to level it.

"Where were you, Charles?!" Erik fumed. "We were supposed to protect them! Where were you when your own people needed you? Hiding! You and Hank! Pretending to be something you're not! You abandoned us all!"

"I can't hold the plane any longer! Can somebody fuck the calm out of him before we all die?" Valerie cried out. "Erik!"

Eleanor stood up from her seat and released a scarlet red mist-like tendrils from her palm. It circled around the plane and with all the energy in her body, she attempted to level it. "Erik! Control your fucking temper!" She gritted her teeth. A moment later, he finally relinquished his control of the plane and everything stabilized once again.

"You abandoned us all!" He emphasized and the plane finally regained its balance. Eleanor watched Charles walk away from them, entering the cockpit. Erik spun around and their eyes met again, blue to green.

"You really had to destabilize the plane to prove your point?" Eleanor asked, narrowing her eyes at him as she let go of her hold on the plane. "Were you out of your goddamn mind?!"

"You're like them, El. Until now, you're hiding your identity. You're still afraid to tell the world that you are a mutant." argued Erik, stepping forward towards her.

"I'm afraid of persecution, you know that. We live in a time where people fear what they do not understand. Your friends were experimented, Erik and Valerie was soon to be one of them had I not interfered."

For a few moments, they continued to gaze at each other. Both of them didn't say a word. Eleanor knew what was going on in his mind. "Killing people will not bring them back."

"You don't understand the feeling of losing someone important to you." He narrowed his eyes down at her. "Because you have never experienced it. You always had everything in your life."

She scoffed, looking away. "I lost someone important to me too, Erik. I lost our... baby years ago." She swallowed, forcing herself not to remember it all. "And you know what? I had to deal with it alone because you were off somewhere, doing your world domination shit!" Eleanor punched his chest twice before sitting back down.

Stunned at this revelation, Erik collapsed on the seat beside him. "How? When?"

"I-I learned a month after you left. Obviously, I was going to tell you when you return, but two months later, I, uh, I... got into a car accident. A drunk driver crashed on my side of the car and I had a miscarriage due to the impact." Eleanor explained, biting back the tears that started to form in her eyes. She sniffed, refusing to cry.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you." he apologized. "Had I known, I would've..."

"Would've what?" She interrupted. "Leave this all behind? You wouldn't, Erik. You're in too deep in your aspirations of building the empire you desire. You wouldn't let this all go. For all I know, you'll convince me to stay with you and I'll be forced to watch you eradicate humanity. So, don't get my hopes up."

With that, Eleanor walked over to the comfort room, slamming the door shut and the moment after she took in her reflection in the mirror, she collapsed.
