•Bayou Checkup•

Over the course of two days, Aphrena had been out getting some food for Hayley since the other two were to busy to get the wolf something to eat. Aphrena watched the small bump that was forming. At times when the doppelgänger was alone her thought consumed her and she thought of never being able to have her own children. But then she'd remember that she could be this little girls aunt and take care of her as well. And she felt better about not being able to have her own.

The days that the two were alone were spent with the two reading, listening to music, watching something or in most cases: talking.

Aphrena remembered when Hayley told her about how her baby came to be.

She said something about feeling a connection that wasn't just sexual. Aphrena just said maybe the troubles the two have gone through in life have connected them and that was why she felt that way. And Hayley shrugged it off, agreeing with the girl.

Rebekah had several conversations with the two whether it be alone or together but it was surprisingly nice for Aphrena to be with the Mikaelson's. She had a home and people who cared. In their own way they cared and she knew that.

Aphrena woke up this morning feeling a slight pain in her heart but it was gone quickly which worried her because she didn't want Hayley hurt but as soon as Aphrena burst in Hayley's room to ask if she was okay, she had said she didn't feel a thing so that was a relief.

The doppelgänger didn't know what was wrong but everything seemed fine and thought maybe it was just a random pain and not something to do with the supernatural.

Aphrena later learned that Klaus had the very human girl- Cami helping him and although she felt bad for the human she believed Klaus wouldn't harm her. Seeing as he hasn't yet.

Currently Hayley and Rebekah sat in the room talking to a witch about a check up while Aphrena stood behind the couch Hayley sat on, looking at the witch skeptically.

"I told you, Agnes, I feel great," Hayley said, skimming through a book.

"You are overdue for a checkup." Agnes insisted.

"What am I gonna do, pop into the quarter for a quick ultrasound? A pregnant werewolf escorted by a witch? Nothing to see here," Hayley said sarcastically.

"A lot of women would kill to have a child. Strikes me as odd that you're not taking better care of yours," Rebekah told her as if that would help sway the wolf I to going,

"I know a doctor out in the bayou off the beaten path. Now I took the liberty of making an appointment for you tonight after hours, just us. Vampires will never get word of it." Agnes added hoping that it would convince her.

Hayley looked up at Aphrena who stood over her, silently asking if she should go. Aphrena glanced up at Agnes, eyeing her carefully before looking back down at the girl and nodding. She should get a check up to make sure everything was good to go.

"Okay. Fine. Bayou baby doctor it is." Hayley conceded.

The doppelgänger looked away from Hayley and to Agnes. "I'm coming with so don't get any ideas witch."

Agnes drove the two to the clinic deep in the woods and Aphrena could tell something wasn't right with the atmosphere. And with Hayley looking ridged she felt more on edge and protective.

Once we stop Aphrena looked at Hayley then the clinic unsure of all this. "This is the doctor's office?" Aphrena asked skeptically as she pointed to the place in front of them.

"Dr. Paige is only this far out because Marcel's men kept terrorizing her patients. Go. She won't bite." She inhaled one more time and then the two open their doors to get out. Aphrena stood slightly behind the wolf while standing alert listening for anything in the clinic or around it but to busy to pick up Agnes on the phone.

The doctor had Hayley lay down while she set up her equipment. The pregnant wolf lifted up her shirt as Dr. Paige walked over with the gelled probe.

"This is a little cold." Hayley nodded and the doctor gently placed the gel and probe on her stomach. Aphrena held her hand as the doctor moves it around, the heartbeat loud on the screen. The two supernaturals smile at each other than look at the doctor. "Your babies heart rates are perfect."

"I knew it. They're tough ones." The doctor gave Hayley a wipe and she took the goo off before getting up and putting her shirt down.

"That's a unique birthmark you two got there." The doctor said looking over at them.

"We're pretty much done here right?" Hayley asked as she pulled her cardigan back on. Just then Aphrena's phone rings and she went to check it.

rebekah- where are you?

"Your blood pressure's a bit high. I've got something for it." She walked out and I show Hayley before replying.

aphrena- out in the bayou at the clinic with Hayley it's off the beaten path if you want to come down here. something weird is going on here...

The two almost immediately hear a howl off in the distance as soon as she hit send. Their heads shot up quickly in question. Hayley fully got off the table and the two walk near the window to see headlights and a car through the window in the opposite room.

Aphrena nudge Hayley when the doctor cane near them. "Uh, you know, I'm actually not that good with pills." Hayley lied.

"Well, me neither truth be told." The doctor walked over to the counter behind them while they hear people enter the place.

The doctor walks closer to her and she tried to stab her with the needle but Hayley headbutts her while Aphrena kicked her legs from underneath her. Hayley tossed the vampire the needle and she swiftly jabbed it into her neck causing her to scream in pain.

While that happens Hayley slammed the door shut before they could get in and locked the door.

Aphrena got up and rushed to the window so she could get it open as the random people bang on the door. Aphrena used her palms to open it better before vamping out so she could get Hayley.

The werewolf quickly jumped out the window, trusting the girl enough to catch her.

Aphrena sat her down and the two take off running. Aphrena not using her speed because she didn't know what it could do to the babies in Hayley.

They hid behind a tree, hearing that they were catching up to them and Hayley couldn't run forever. The group of all men ran past them. Aphrena looked up at Hayley with a mischievous smirk before taking off after them. Aphrena sped past the group and up to the farthest one, snapping his neck. Aphrena looked behind her to see the other one and quickly snapped his neck snapped causing him to fall in a face plant. The third guy who is closer to her tries to give her an aneurysm but she was practically immune to it so she quickly pounced on him and kicked him to the ground while simultaneously snapping his neck. The fourth dude just got brutally beat by Hayley with a log.

Aphrena rushed to Hayley as her werewolf face comes out and the last guy walked closer. Rebekah rushed behind him and snapped his neck while Aphrena helped Hayley up.

"I have to say I'm impressed," Rebekah says looking around at the bodies.

"How'd you find us?" Hayley asked.

"Aphrena's worrying text got me half way vamp hearing did the rest. Who are they?"

"Witches, warlocks, whatever," Hayley said exasperated. The three look around the woods and Rebekah quickly noticed lights and heard more foot steps.

"There are more of them. Run!" Hayley ran off at Rebekah's command, knowing she had to protect her kids.

Aphrena nodded to Rebekah and went after the werewolf to make sure Hayley stayed safe. She soon heard arrows shoot and a thud.

"Rebekah!" Hayley stopped as Aphrena yelled. "Hayley!" She chastised. Hayley got shot in the shoulder followed by herself getting shot in the shoulder. Hayley looked down at the arrow then faints. "Bloody hell..." Aphrena muttered then was soon consumed by darkness.

As Aphrena and Hayley wake, the doppelgänger heard a wolf howl again. She grabbed the arrow, yanking it out with a slight hiss then looked over to see Hayley's was already gone. Aphrena quickly healed up and got Hayley up and onto her feet.

Hayley was covered in dirt and blood around her clothes and had scratched up clothing, and Aphrena had no doubt she looked the same.

Without a word spoken, to tired to speak the two started walking in the direction they thought was where the clinic was. She stumbled a few times but Aphrena placed a hand on her back to make sure she didn't fall. Her eyes droop as they continue on.

Aphrena spotted the clinic and made sure they got their without incident.

"Hayley? Aphrena? What happened? Tell me what happened." Klaus asked worriedly. He walked closer to them and Hayley shook her head.

"I can't remember." Klaus took Hayley out of Aphrena's grasps and into his arms. He gave her a hug and Aphrena smiled drowsily at the interaction.

He pulled away slightly giving her a kiss on the temple then pulling away fully looking her over. Aphrena smiles at Rebekah. This is good. Very good. "You've completely healed. There's not a scratch on you."

"One of the perks of being a werewolf, remember?" Hayley asked.

"No. Not that fast," Klaus said shaking his head.

"Leave her alone," Rebekah said. She wrapped her arm around her waist then Aphrena's, noticing how drained she looked. "It's the baby." Hayley looked at her with those half-closed eyes in shock. "The vampire blood, Klaus' blood in your system. It can heal any wound." She sat the two down on the porch as Klaus slowly turned to them. "Your own children healed you."

"How did you two escape? You were outnumbered, unarmed. Those men were ripped to shreds." They all look at Aphrena but she just shook her head.

"Not me I was knocked the fuck out plus I can't exactly change. I think it may have been the wolf." She looked to Hayley because she knew what Aphrena was talking about.

"I think It's trying to protect us," she said.

"The witches were supposed to protect you both. When I get my hands in Sophie Deveraux--" Klaus started but doesn't finish.

"It wasn't Sophie." Aphrena cut in. "It was Agnes."

"Fine. Agnes, Sophie. It's all the same to me. I'll slaughter the lot of them."

"Not if Elijah gets there first. He won't like that he tried to hurt h- the girls or the babies."

"Good save sister," Klaus said sarcastically under his breathe.

"Elijah? Did you find him?" Aphrena asked with wide eyes, her mind rushing with thoughts of him.

"He's been in touch, and he has a plan. All he asked is that we take care of you two." Aphrena smiled at Rebekah thankfully.

Hayley and Klaus looked at each other and the Original female and the doppelgänger swore she would have taken him right here if they weren't around. Apparently, Hayley noticed and looked down with a blush.

"Hey. So can we go home now? I'd really like to sleep for a few days." Aphrena got up and Hayley slowly got herself up without help until she buckled and almost falls but Klaus was quickly by her side and picks her up bridal style.

"I've got you, love. I've got you."

Aphrena slightly hobbled behind as the siblings walk side by side. That link tying them together causing her to become weaker.

Once they got home, Aphrena just walked right to her room.

Klaus took Hayley in her room and they fell asleep together while Aphrena took a quick shower before heading to bed.
