20. Witch Party
•La Fête des Bénêdictions•
Hayley called her sister to inform her that the witchy slut asked for a party for the witches and even if Aphrena didn't like the witch, she agreed with her and decided to call Elijah to tell him about her opinion knowing he hates the slut just as much as her.
"I know you hate her but please allow the party. I have ideas for presents and this is good for them and the treaty."
"Why must you agree with her? All she has been doing here is trying and miserably failing to get in Niklaus' pants. He is your sister's mate for god sake's. This woman can't seem to take a hint."
The doppelgänger laughed and shook her head.
"I know...but this isn't for her. This is for Davina. I personally don't care about the other witches. Can you please allow the party?"
"I'll take it into consideration."
She stared blankly at the wall and huffed.
"Sometimes I hate you."
"That just isn't possible, my beautiful mate."
Aphrena rolled her eyes with a light blush.
"You win. Actually, you always win. Which isn't fair. So that means I get to win once and this party is happening. Love you, bye."
Aphrena heard a knock on her door and opened it to see Hayley with a smile on her face. Shw opened the door more and allowed her twin to walk in.
"Sister, so glad you opened your door. I'm so tired of watching Genevieve try so hard. It's embarrassing. Also, I need your help with picking a dress for tonight. And of course, I got some for you too." She walked into where Aphrena had been sleeping and laid three dresses out. A red, white and black one. The red dress was beautiful and she instantly knew she liked this dress the most.
"The red. Definitely the red," Aphrena said with a smile.
"Awesome, now help me." The vampire looked between the white and black dress then Hayley trying to see which would look good. It wasn't that hard.
"The black. You would really look good if you wore black. And red and black look really good together." Hayley sighed and nodded.
"I agree-" They heard noises out on the porch and walked out to see Eve.
"Hey Eve. Look who is back," Aphrena said with a smile and gestured to her beautiful younger sister. Eve and Aphrena were pretty close. She was like a mother/best friend. She helped the doppelgänger around and talked to her about all the werewolf pregnancies she had seen.
"Oh, Hayley thank god. Aphrena never shut up about how much she misses you. She is something else when she is pregnant." Aphrena gaped at the blonde and she laughed at the brunette nudging her arm. "Kidding."
"Well, if this one would just come back home -even half the time- she wouldn't miss me as much. Now would she?" She asked Aphrena. The wolf rolled her eyes at Hayley and they started walking to another building.
"I'm still thinking."
"How long does this take to think?" Eve asked. Aphrena stared at her with wide eyes.
"First, you are taking her side, second, I'm hurt you're trying to get me to leave."
"Thank you, Eve," Hayley said.
"Being here all the time isn't necessary dear. You are allowed to come and go as you please and I don't mean just staying there for a few hours before coming back," Eve said which made Aphrena think maybe after a while of being gone maybe spending some more time with her mate and her other family would be good.
"I hate that you guys are so good at persuasion."
"And she cave's!" Hayley cheers as we approached another porch.
"That wasn't a complete yes."
"It wasn't a no either."
Hayley and Aphren get some tea and food from inside as they start to talk about all the new werewolves who have shown up in the Bayou and flooded the encampments.
"You've gotta be kidding me. Seriously, what is going on?" Hayley asked finding all these werewolves here really weird.
"Yeah, who are all these people? Why are they standing out here all weird and lurk-y?" The vampire doppelgänger asked.
"They've come from all over. All the packs." Eve informed.
Hayley raises an eyebrow. "Why? To see the baby's that aren't even born yet?"
Oliver comes out from inside the house. "Forget the babies. These freaks, they come here to see you, Aphrena. You know, given the place both your parents held in pack hierarchy, maybe they think you're gonna be the long-lost werewolf messiah or something."
"Wow, there's totally no pressure there or anything," Aphrena said sarcastically. Oliver's phone then rings, so he walks away to take it.

Elijah meets with Diego and the rest of the Vampire Faction about the Feast of Blessings.
"You want us to go to a witch event on a bended knee and give them a gift? I'm sorry, but I just remembered. We're busy doing just about anything else that night." Diego retorted not happy with having to make the witches happy.
"Diego, this isn't a request. Your name is on that treaty. Now, if you have any difficulty whatsoever with your new-found position, I'd be more than willing to remove you." Elijah threatened.
"I never thought I'd see the day. Vampires bowing down to witches," he said angrily.
"I see it as a demonstration of strength, acknowledging a lesser faction."
••
Elijah meets with Francesca, the Human Faction leader.
"But you're not asking, are you?" She laughs. "Oh, I see it's true what they say about you, Elijah. You make even strong-arming seem noble. Well, the tourists do read this stuff up. Can you imagine what they'd think if they suddenly found out it was all real? I take it you want me at the public show and the private party afterward?" She asked.
"That is correct."
"I'd be happy to attend. And in return, you will owe the humans a favor."
••
Elijah next meets with Jackson, Aphrena, Oliver, and Hayley on behalf of the Crescent wolves.
"Your people are uniquely poised to set an example for the rest of the French Quarter. Which is why it's important for the wolves to attend," Elijah said.
"Thanks, but no thanks?" Hayley said.
Oliver sighs, "Let's hear the man out," he said defeatedly.
"The witches are the ones that cursed your pack. And they've been nothing but crap to us since I first came to town." Hayley turns to Elijah. "No. We're not going."
"Yes, Hayley we should," Aphrena said. Elijah listened to Aphrena, now it's time for her to get her sister to agree.
"It's a new day in the Quarter, Hayley. I agree with Oliver and Aphrena. If we're gonna coexist, we have to play ball. We'll send a representative with a gift, " Jackson said then looked to Elijah who nodded.
Elijah frowns as Hayley, who is annoyed, walks away grabbing Aphrena as well. He catches up with them to speak privately.
Elijah whispers to them, "That was too easy. Don't trust him. Don't trust any of them." Aphrena frowned at him wondering what that meant.
•••
Aphrena and Hayley come out on the porch to join Jackson and Oliver but they stopped talking when they come outside, which makes them suspicious.
"What is this? Middle School? High School?" The doppelgänger asked annoyed.
"Why don't you take the hint and mind your own damn business?" Oliver spat angering the hybrid.
Hayley tries to calm her sister down but instead, she shrugs her hand off and grabs Oliver by the arm, spins him around, twists his arm behind his back, and pins him up against the wall, face-first.
"This is my pack. That makes it my business." She sneers. "Say anything like that again, you will definitely wish you hadn't."
"No need to get her all riled up, Oliver." He told his friend not happy with the lack of respect he shows to the girl he had learned to love. "This is not good for you, Aphrena," He said which made Hayley raise an eyebrow in her twin's direction. She wondered if Jackson knew about her and Elijah and if he did why is he still acting like he is in love unless-
"I have tried to play nice," Aphrena says interrupting her sister's thoughts and she twists Oliver's arm harder. "The last month of pregnancy is all hormones and mood swings, so unless you want me to snap your arm like a tiny little twig, I suggest that you tell me what is going on." She demanded harshly.
"You can go to hell." He spits out.
Aphrena scrunched her face up and moves his arm more, using some of her hybrid strength to make it hurt more. "What was that? I didn't hear quite catch that."
"Knock it off. There's no reason to keep it from her." Jackson told him trying to defuse the tense situation.
"I can think of a reason. Always has heart eyes around her, he's tall, immortal and wears a pocket scarf," he said getting under Aphrena and Jackson's skins.
Oliver tries to fight against her, but she forcefully pins him back down again, this time harsher. Kol would be so proud of her.
"Uhh!" Oliver yells out in pain.
"Aphrena, Hayley, you're one of us. You both deserve to know. Now, go on." He urged Aphrena to let go.
The werewolf reluctantly releases him and turns to Jackson for an explanation.
"We made an alliance that's gonna change everything for the wolves." Jackson starts.
"An alliance with who?" Hayley asks.
"Klaus."
"Tell us everything," Aphrena said wondering what's happening between the brother's and how much she is missing.

The sky has darkened as the Feast of Blessings parade begins. The witches marched down the street as Davina, Monique, and Abigail - the three current and alive Harvest girls - were hoisted above the crowd on thrones. The girls were each dressed for the element they represented in the Harvest, Monique in floral earth tones as she represents earth, Davina in bright red-orange as she represents fire, and Abigail in white as she represents air.
Aphrena joined the celebration on the side with a happy smile on her face. Her doe-brown eyes immediately found her little kitten and she smiled at her. Davina looked around trying to find her sister figure and smiled happily when she did.
The men carrying the throne-like chairs stopped and placed them down. The Harvest girls went up on stage as Genevieve followed after them.
"Now in accordance with Féte des Bénédictions, the witches of New Orleans bless you all!"
The crowd applaud and cheered as Genevieve steps offstage. Monique steps forward first as she lifts her arms to the air and creates a mild earthquake that rumbles the ground below them. The young Deveraux which had a nasty smug look on her face.
Monique placed her hand down and the earthquake subsided before she stepped back and Abigail stepped forward.
She raised her arms and created very strong winds that blow around the crowd of tourists. When she was done Davina stepped forward.
She raised her palm to the sign behind her, which immediately ignites with fire and sets off a dozen of fireworks, in turn, making the crowd cheer loudly. Davina turned to the crowd and smiled at them before looking at Aphrena, who smiled proudly at her an applauded her along with the crowd.
•••
Aphrena and Hayley enter the feast just as Genevieve leaves. Hayley sends the witch a glare while Aphrena smiles and rolls her eyes at her sister.
Elijah smiles as he sees his mate and heads over to her. "Strange. I thought you'd be in the company of your colorful friends."
"Oh. You asked for a representative for the werewolves, so take us or leave us." Hayley says unhappily. Obviously, she didn't know about the exclusion of their family and was still salty.
"Take you, of course." Elijah smiles and holds out his arm, which Aphrena happily takes and leaves her sister so she could find Nik.
•••
Aphrena and Elijah stood off in a corner as they watched the three Harvest girls, Davina, Monique, and Abigail stood on a small stage with Genevieve standing beside them.
"Welcome. As is our time-honored tradition, you are all welcome to deliver your offerings," the redhead said and featured towards the Harvest girls. "It is our custom that no one should be turned away, no blessing be denied."
Genevieve smiled as she lifts her champagne to everyone before walking away.
Guests began to line up to bring their offerings to the Harvest girls. Aphrena stood with Elijah and watched Hayley try to give hers to Davina but someone makes her give it to someone else. The werewolf furrowed her brows and look up at Elijah confused.
"What are they doing to poor, Davina." He shook his head and Aphrena got out of his arms to give Davina her gifts and if someone decided they wanted to stop her then that someone is losing a few brain cells. She walked towards her when an attendant tried to get the werewolf to give her gift to another witch and she happily gave her her threat.
"Try and stop me, you'll go brain dead." Aphrena smiled sweetly and walked to Davina. "I got this specifically for you, kitten. I'm sorry they are being so rude to you." The werewolf smiled at her and gave a dirty look to Monique who was glaring at Davina. "It's three bracelets and three necklaces. Would you like to see them?" She nods and Aphrena watches as she opens it. She knows Davina won't be getting anymore so why not enjoy watching her open the gift she did get.
"Is this for me and you?" She asks with a smile and tears in her eyes.
"Our relationship? Yes." Aphrena smiled at the girl who gets up and hugs her.
"Your the best big sister ever. Thank you so much. You don't know how much this means to me." The doppelgänger nodded and helped her get on the two necklaces and the moon with the cat bracelet on. Davina saved the others for later.
"I'm gonna go now. But don't let these snotty little witches get to you. You are far better than them." She nodded and sat back down as Aphrena made her way to Elijah again with a smile.
Her smile fades slightly when she sees Niklaus dragging Josh towards the stairs with Davina in tow.
"Ladies and gentleman, may I have your attention, please. We are gathered here today to pay homage to our beloved witches, but one very special which has been utterly ignored and only received one gift from a very special woman and that seems a little unfair to me, " Nik says loudly as he handed Davina a small box as his offering.
Davina frowned at him. "No. I don't want your gift," She said as she shook her head.
Aphrena smiled at Nik having a guess at what his gift was. She was happy that he did what she asked.
"I understand why you would reject me, given our past. In truth, many of us here today have been wronged in the conflict which my brothers treaty ended," He said then pointed at Josh. "Your friend Josh was involved in a plot to kill me. It would be well within my right to execute him here and now. But, in the spirit of solidarity, and for your favor, Davina, I hereby pardon him." Klaus then stood in front of Josh. "Josh from this day forward, you have nothing to fear from me."
Nik handed his gift to Davina once again. Davina looked over at the doppelgänger, who gave her a wide smile and nodded her head to take the gift. She sighed before taking the gift from him. Nik walked over to Aphrena and gave her a light smile.
"Thank you for giving that to her Nik. I honestly wasn't expecting you to hand it over."
"Anything for my favorite doppelgänger." He kissed her forehead before walking off.
I had this for a while but I decided to cut it off here and give you something.
Also just watched ENDGAME and I cried like a baby. I wasn't ready.
Hope you enjoyed.
