IT WAS A HOT AND SUNNY DAY when camila and serene kept taking turns driving from new york to denver, colorado the 26 hour ride was tiring for both of them.

it was like 2 am when it was serene's turn to drive while her mom sleeps for a few hours , she was feeling happy and sad at the same time , she knew this was a good start for her and her mom but she couldn't help but feel scared that this move could end in a tragic way

serene and her mom had a house on the rich side of town, well- i wouldn't say it was their house. it was technically chris's house since he bought it for them but serenes mom still had to get a job so she could keep up with it, so serene decided to get an after school job to help out.

before the divorce , they were all supposed to move there as a happy family but guess it wasn't in her luck.

she knew her mom loved her very much and that she was going but she just couldn't help feel invalidated by everyone.

" hija , what time is it ?" her mom's voice startled her thoughts.
"i think its like 2 am ma you should go back to sleep , im not sleepy yet". that was a lie , she was so tired but she wanted her mom to rest after the last hard few weeks.

"why didn't you wake me up rena ? you need to rest honey" her mom scolded her worrying about her daughter.
"its fine ma please just go back to sleep we still have like 5 hours till we get there i think." she said trying to convince her mom to go to sleep.

"you are so stubborn just like your father"her mom said softly chuckling as she went back to try and get some sleep.

serene chuckled sadly at her mom's words she was afraid that if she were to ever to be in a relationship she wouldn't be committed and be like her dad.                         she knew her dad wasn't really wasn't really a bad person , but all she needed was a dad who cared but i guess that wasn't really meant for her.

she blocked her thoughts wiping a few tears that fell and focused on her driving.

IT WAS ALMOST 7AM when serene and her mom arrived in denver.                   her mom had already woken up and held the map up to tell her where exactly to go.

when they arrived , serene was looking at the house in awe. i mean she knew her dad was rich , but she never knew the house was this was out of sight.

"serene honey stop zoning out and come help me get the bags into the house" her mom snapped her into reality. looking st her mom seeing her struggle with the baggage.

she chuckled softly at her mom , she apologized and quickly grabbed her bag out of the car.

"here is the key , take the key, go in to the house and unpack you room i will do the rest" her mom told her not looking back trying to get the heavy bags out.

"uhh no im helping you" being the stubborn girl she was. her mom let her help

after the bags and boxes were in the house. they stood in the kitchen talking about what they were going to do while drinking coffee

" hey ma do you think it will be okay if we walk around  town , there this diner i heard about , we can have breakfast there" she suggested to her mom

"yeah of course mija , lets just change tenemos que causar buenas primeras impresiones" her mom said giggling as she grabs her bag and goes to her room. smiling at her mom she grabs her bag to go change.

camila always cared about first impressions. she always says that whenever you meet a person , that first impression always stick with you.                                    that stuck with serene her whole life, if she met someone and they didn't meet her expectations, then they weren't worth of her time.

serene cared for the people she loved but no one really stuck around with her that long to find about.

she shrugged away her thoughts and changed in a purple vest with some bell bottom jeans and her black heel boots , putting a bit of makeup on to make her not look dead as she hasn't slept in a day she let her hair down. smiling at herself in the mirror feeling satisfied.

"ay rena , you done o no?" her mom shouted from downstairs.

"sí mami, im coming down now" she said hurrying down the stairs, careful to not fall. she walked down saw her mom wearing a strip floral red dress.
her mom was beautiful that's  no joke. she knew she had to be protective over her mom when they go out.

"ma you look beautiful" she conplimented her mother smiling at her.

her mom smiled brightly at her compliment " eso es todo tu mija  , now come on let's go im hungry" she said running for the door.

"ok ok lets go" running after her mom chuckling. linking her arm with her mother as they walked out the door together.

"you are driving" they both said at the same time. laughing with each other as serena took the car keys from her mom getting in the car and driving away.
