your hands shook as you tried to stop the bleeding, Coriolanus screamed for help as the deep cut from Arachne's neck gushed more and more

the glass from the water you brought her laid broken and cut your knees as your tears rolled down your face

soon, Coriolanus dragged you off her body and carried you back home as you sobbed into his coat

she was dead. you saw her eyes glaze over as the medics tossed a blanket over her face and Lucky Flickerman stood there smiling

your knees stung as Coriolanus sat you at the table, cleaning your wounds as you shook softly.

once bandages covered your knees, Coryo scooped you up and placed you on his bed. you curled into him as you cried...

"Like...what was her name again?" Clemmy giggled as she bit into her bread

"Arachne." you told her and she rolled her eyes

"She shouldn't have been taunting the tributes, they're in a cage for a reason" she spoke as she chewed her food, your mouth was left open as you processed her words...

"Yeah but..." you didn't get to finish as she turned to Lysistrata to start a new conversation

you got up and left after that. finding Coriolanus in the library as he researched ways to help his tribute

you told him what they said but he only hummed softly, your brows furrowed as you looked up at him

"Isn't that just sick?" you asked, he did a double take to you as he tried to remember what you said moments prior 

"Oh...yeah it is" he mumbled and you felt a scoff leave your lips, looking at the bookshelves as you sunk deeper into thought

"hey what was the rose thing about?" you mindlessly murmured and he looked at you strangely 

"what rose?"

"the one you gave to Lucy Gray...It looked like one from your grand-"

"Oh, that...what about it?" he cut you off, keeping his sentences short as he skimmed through books. you felt your tongue dry up as you stood

"forget it." you said before walking off

You felt disgusted with your "friends" and distant from Coryo, but as you passed posters you remembered the games were only 2 weeks away
