Epilogue.

E m m a

I've been waiting for this day to come for a long time and I'm proud to say that I'm a part of it. I think from the moment I saw Niall sat in front of Hayles in that small coffee shop in London I knew they had something - whether it was a budding friendship or love at first sight, I have no idea - but I knew they had something.

I had that feeling in my stomach, you know the feeling. The one instinctive feeling that let's you know you're about to witness something great - something different and special. That's the feeling I felt, and today just proves my prediction. Niall has always gone on about finding his 'princess' someone so perfect and faultless in his eyes that he is willing to spend the rest of his life showing her how important and one of a kind she truly is, well, he found that person.

And it just so happens to be my best friend.

Niall wanted this day completely perfect, as did Hayles. They spent numerous hours, and months at a time researching venues and caterers and florists - making sure that everything about this day would be unforgettable. Two and a half years later, they're finally experiencing their dream wedding - a day where they unite and become one beating heart and soul - it's a pleasure to behold and I'm beyond grateful to be here and be a part of it.

Quite a big part actually considering Hayles appointed me as her maid of honour. I gladly accepted the role and was to assist Niall on all of the 'man duties' as Hayley put it, so basically, what the groom and best man were to wear. Of course, the rest of the lads were an option but Niall decided to have his brother Greg to be his best man and the other lads to be groomsmen, it seemed more fair considering Greg was blood related and also knew Niall a lot longer. The lads gracefully accepted their role of groomsmen without hostility and simply thanked him with wide smiles, I wouldn't expect anything less of them.

Considering it's summer the wedding venue has been moved from the indoor comfort of the hall, to the beautiful landscape it resides it. The trees decorated with beautifully hand-crafted lanterns in a birdcage shape with jewels and flowers entwined with them - truly beautiful.

Rose coloured petals hang from the trees that create a peaceful canopy above the tables that the guests will occupy. I can't help but stare at it's magnificent beauty, so effortlessly perfect. Lavender ribbons delicately tied into bows cover the backs of each outside dining chair, matching the lavender runners that line each and every circular table; a centrepiece of flowers - chosen by Niall - becoming the tables main feature.

The photographers' cameras are set up in almost every single corner of the outside area - if that's possible. Hayles made sure that her day would be a day to remember and by the amount of cameras she's using I don't think we'll be able to forget it. I can't help but smile at how proud I am that my best friend got the happy ending to her fairytale, Hayley deserves to be nothing but happy in life and I'm glad that Niall is the key to that happiness.

Today's theme is 'pastel colours' considering most things within eye sight are any and all sorts of pastel shades; Hayley couldn't decide which colour she wanted to be most prominent so she decided to use them all - I'm not surprised really, she's very indecisive. I wouldn't expect anything less from her. Although this doesn't mean that the lads are in lavender suits and pastel blue ties, it basically means that the venue decorations and bridesmaid dresses are all pastel. Don't worry, the lads are all in their black tuxes as the fans were hoping for.

There are five bridesmaids, two hair stylists and one bride rushing around in one room getting ready. All of them laughing and shrieking as I sit comfortably in the elegant armchair; I was first to get ready out of all of us. Hayley asked Lou if she would do all of the girls hair for the wedding and she kindly accepted - deciding to do me first so I could roam around the grounds instead of sitting bored and waiting around, like I have been.

Eleanor, Danielle, Sophia and Perrie are all in their bridesmaid dresses, and Lou only has Rose's hair left to do. Everyone looks stunning, especially Hayley, even if she is panicking and running around like a headless chicken. "Guys I'm going to go for a walk, I'll be back in a sec." They nod at me as I struggle to get up from the chair, my bones stiff and aching from being sat there for over and hour.

The venue is even more beautiful as the sun drifts lower in the sky, it's noon now and everyone is getting excited as the time draws closer. I wander mindlessly through the halls of the castle and down the cobbled walkway to where the ceremony is being held. The emerald grass is freshly cut releasing a refreshing smell of summer, I can hear the band not too far away tuning their instruments.

Sweet flowers are the only thing I can smell, my senses filling with the delicate scent as two arms wrap around my waist; the single touch creating goosebumps on my skin and a delicious shiver up my spine - a shiver that I gladly welcome.

I take in his familiar scent and calmly rest my head onto his shoulder, feeling nothing but complete peace. Comfort is what this man erupts within me whenever he's near, I feel safe knowing that I'm in his presence; there's just something about his charming personality that puts everyone at ease when he's around. It's a fine quality to have acquired.

The light breeze brushes past us and I have no desire whatsoever to speak first - the silence we are surrounded by is enough to keep me truly satisfied in his homely embrace. However, he speaks.

"I love you." Dreamy, that's what I feel, completely dreamy due to his words, and baffled as to what is real anymore. Surely someone this incredible and perfect is merely a hallucination; but no, he's here, and he's mine. I smile at his words, my eyes closed and embracing those perfect words being sculptured and brought to life by the effortless flick of his tongue. "You look breathtaking," my smile widens further at his compliment, not ashamed at all knowing that he has me in the palm of his hand.

My body swivels in his embrace, his hands falling from my stomach and clasping each other at my lower back, thumbs tracing over the familiar dimples that reside there. He knows them oh so well, he knows every inch of skin that covers my body because after five and a half years of marriage, he has no doubt by now, inspected every pore of it as if it were his own. "And you, look just as incredible as you do every time I see you, Mr Styles." He chuckles and rests his head on mine, a gesture that we have named ours since before we even started dating.

"Shall we walk Mrs Styles?" Harry asks continuing our playful facade.

"We shall." Our arms link and we walk alongside each other, occasionally bumping hips or shoulders as we walk - he feigns being hurt a couple of times making my heart race at the thought of hurting him, though he quickly pulls me out of it with a wink and that cheeky smile I adore.

"I'll see you later baby, look after yourself." His words convey and underlying message and I know it's that fear in him that he wants me safe, he wants me protected from harms way.

I roll my eyes, not knowing what harm I could be at my best friends wedding, "I will." Harry purses his lips at my eye rolling, not too happy with my less than polite gesture.

"Careful." He slaps my bum quickly before running off, not leaving me enough time to scold him, or even turn around for that matter. He's most likely gone back to the lads now, prepping Niall for the biggest day of his life.

Everyone is seated carefully in their places, security guards and all - some of them standing up on a couple of occasions to help Niall and Hayley's grandmothers walk across the grass in their vintage kitten heels.

The venue looks indescribable, flowers poised to perfection, music delicate and elegant, and the archway perfectly outlining Niall as he stands and waits for his bride. The girls have all walked down the aisle and stood to the right hand side of the centre, it's my turn next. My pastel orange dress flows beautifully as I walk in my small heels - Harry banned me from having high heels because he didn't want me to 'slip and break my neck', I take in a deep breath feeling nothing but happiness and pride looking up at Niall in his black suit and tie with a nervous disposition on his face.

I hear the odd person cooing as I walk, small whispers between everyone seated as they marvel. I stand out slightly from the other bridesmaids as I'm the only one with a pastel orange dress, my hands clasp on the small bouquet of flowers and rest comfortably on the five month old bump of my stomach.

I glance at Harry who smiles lovingly back at me, 'be careful' he mimes in a playful warning. I roll my eyes teasingly and smile, watching as his teeth take a firm hold of his lower lip as he attempts to hold back his persistent grin, failing of course, his dimples betraying him as always.

Finally, I stand in my correct position watching the two and a half year old ring barer walk down the aisle. An ear splitting grin on the little girls face as she waddles carelessly down the aisle, the crowd 'aww' at her beauty and I chuckle at how incredibly adorable she is. I gesture over to Imogen and she walks over to me silently, standing where I place her in front of me.

The crowd stand as the band play and Hayley appears at the back of the aisle, her father stood gracefully beside her, probably more nervous than Hayles is. I watch Hayley's mother and my mother whimper together on the front row, shedding tears as the second and final girl of the two families gets her dream wedding. Hayley's dress is absolutely incredible, I remember being there with her when she tried it on for the first time and being absolutely breathless, it was a perfect fit and complimented her beautifully - she would have been silly not to have it for the biggest day of her life. The straps are thin with lace flowers sewn on, and the front of the dress is covered with a sporadic lace design before fading effortlessly into a beautiful train. It's simply perfect for her.

Her smile brightens as all eyes are on her, except mine - I watch Niall's reaction. All of his nervous disposition fading as he notices her walking towards him, his smile widening and complete confidence emulating off him as he straightens his posture and watches his soon to be wife intently. My eyes flicker down to Imogen craning her neck to stare up at me, a big smile on her face most likely having no idea what is going on. I press a kiss to the pad of my index finger and place it on her nose, hearing a beautiful giggle erupt from her.

The happy couple share their vows and within no time are declared husband and wife. Everyone claps excitedly and cheers as they then make their way over to the seating area, getting ready for the five course meal that is due to come any moment. I follow on and sit with the rest of the bridesmaids on one table, Harry sat with the rest of the lads and Greg as Niall and Hayles occupy their own table at the front of the venue.

The photographers make their way round whilst the speeches take place, making sure - by Hayley's commands - there is a picture of everyone and no one is left out. The meal is fantastic, a beautiful selection, of course, mainly chosen by the most highly known and well rated catering business London has to offer. It's safe to say they didn't let us down.

"May I have this dance?" I hear a familiar voice, turning around to see Niall, realising soon enough that my husband has already asked the new bride to dance.

"Your husband stole my wife." I smile at his words, it feeling slightly foreign coming from his lips. Niall seems to think the same as well, "wow I can't believe I can say that now." I place my hand in his offered palm and walk gallantly to the dance floor, the sun setting in the distance and the entire venue occupied with a beautiful orange glow.

"I'm so proud of you Niall. You look so happy."

"I am happy." He utters quickly, not hesitant whatsoever. His crystal blue eyes are alight with joy - a sight I never wish to forget, I love when the lads are happy. They deserve to be, they work so hard and it's times like this when they can take a day off and just live in the moment; not rushed by management, chased by fans or followed by paps - they can be nothing but themselves.

"You deserve to be. You all do." I voice my thoughts.

"You seem quiet today. Is everything okay?" His next questions throws me off but my reply is substantial.

"Niall, I've had Hayley down my ear for the last two and a half years whilst planning this wedding and she was running around like a headless chicken not two hours prior to now. It's too much for a pregnant woman to handle."

"Oh give over, you're fine." I chuckle at his response, knowing that my excuses don't work with these guys. They know me too well. "And you think you've had it bad? You've not had to live with her."

Our banter continues before being cut off by a tap on Niall's shoulder. "May I cut in?" Harry smiles as Niall disconnects the two of us from our swaying.

"Yeah, I've had enough of her." Niall teases, receiving a light nudge on his bicep from me. "Only joking, love you." He leaves a small kiss on my cheek before bouncing over to his wife.

The smell of newly lit candles surrounds the outdoor area, the breeze surprisingly warm as I wrap my arms around Harry's neck. Small giggles are heard from behind me as I assume the children are laughing and playing together, mumbling grandparents chatter and clips of shoes are heard as more people start to dance. And once again, Harry and I are silent, just enjoying the peaceful moment.

He smiles down at me, his clasped hands resting on my lower back like before and his warm spearmint breath - most likely from his previous chewing gum - fanning across my face. "I love you so much Harry." No other words seem to appear in my mind except those. That's all I really want or need to say to him. Everything else can simply wait.

"I love you baby." He answers and calms my awaiting heart. "How's my son doing?"

I smile at his words, our eyes closed and foreheads touching as expected. "He's doing okay, he knows you're here." I answer feeling a small fluttering and bubbling sensation in my stomach. Although that could be the effect that Harry's husky chuckle has on me, I can never really tell.

A large hand moves from my lower back and to my bump, the perfect timing as our son kicks his fathers palm. Harry laughs, "I still can't believe that you have our baby right there. You're amazing."

"It takes two to tango." I laugh and am spun seconds later in our slow dance. Harry twisting and turning me as if he were a professional, his movements become slow again as we sway beautifully to the music - well that is until Harry decides to stop.

His eyes darken and I know exactly what is running through his mind, the same thing that's running through mine. My breathing deepens and my lips part expecting his to crash on mine any moment..."Harry!" Hayley shrieks his name and even my own subconscious mutters the word 'cockblock'.

Although for the first time, he doesn't acknowledge it. He simply ignores her shriek and kisses me with as much fever as he could muster up. It's beautiful, a heated and well deserved kiss between two people that completely adore each other; between two people who have started a family together and plan to spend the rest of their lives with the same entwined beating heart. Our lips move in a rush though we still manage to be gentle and patient in our own little world, being apart from each other for the day and our short meeting and walk not lasting long enough to express how we truly feel.

I love him. His beautiful caress, his familiar scent, the spearmint taste of his tongue. Everything, I love.

"Mummy! Daddy!" The one sound to break us apart, our foreheads still touching as we attempt to calm our breathing. Imogen stands there with her green eyes honed in on us, her dimples colossal concave's in each cheek and her brown curls - replicating mine and her fathers - in two ponytails on either side of her head. She looks adorable just like her father.

Harry bends down and lifts her up, resting our two and a half year old daughter on his hip, releasing a small giggle from her lips as his hair tickles her face accidentally. "Can I dance with you?" Her big eyes plead and I can't help but grin at that cheeky smile she's acquired from Harry.

"Of course you can. I'm the only man you're allowed to dance with." I laugh at his remark. A true protective father.

"What about granddad?" I glance over to my dad and Des, as well as Robin too, the three of them clearly having an in depth conversation about something. My eyes flutter back to Harry and Imogen's conversation.

"Imogen Hope Styles, you can dance with me and only me." I roll my eyes at his unfair remark and suddenly shudder as his eyes meet mine darkly, almost in a warning.

"What about my baby brother?" Her small voice cheekily asks, she's definitely her fathers daughter.

Harry raises his eyebrows in surprise before regaining composure, "right that's it! Tickle monster!" Imogen squirms in her fathers grasp as his fingers gently tickle her sides and neck, knowing it's where she's the most ticklish.

"Mummy!" My beautiful daughter squeals, her tiny arms reaching out for me.

"I'll save you baby." I take her from Harry, her arms wrapping around my neck and her pink lips placing a tiny and thankful kiss on mine.

"Can I dance with you and daddy?"

Harry smiles lovingly at the two of us, a sense of pride in his eyes at his wife and daughter, and not forgetting his son to come. "Of course you can." I speak, wrapping one arm around Harry's neck as the other holds up Imogen on my hip.

Imogen wraps her free arm around Harry's neck also, and clasps her fingers with mine. Harry simply winds his arms around the both of us and we sway in a slowly rotating circle, laughing and giggling together. I can't help but smile lovingly at the two of them, watching their sweet interaction as Imogen places a gentle kiss on her fathers lips. Tears almost prick at my eyes due to the mass amount of pride I feel to have them both in my life.

So much has happened in the past, and so much is yet to happen in the future; my son has to be born and learn to walk and talk, Imogen will go to school, they'll both grow up and get boyfriends or girlfriends, they'll buy a house and get married some day, have kids. The more I think of it the more I realise how short life can be, and how living in the moment is what we should all do. So yes, all that stuff will happen one day, but for right now, I'm happy with my husband and my daughter and my baby bump.

The End.
