Chapter 7.
After putting two large margarita pizzas into the oven, I discard the plastic packaging and make my way into the living room; as I do I am met with ten smiling fans, two lazy animals and my stunning husband, who are all gathered in waiting for the film to begin.
"Hi," I whisper to one of the girls as I shuffle past her, placing myself next to Harry on the floor so I can see all of their faces clearly. "So are you all excited?!" I enthuse, trying to warm myself up by rubbing my hands against my thighs quickly.
Harry wraps one of his strong arms around my body, pulling me into his chest and allowing some of his body heat to radiate off of him and onto me, which I am grateful for. "Yeah, thank you so much for inviting us in! We can't believe it!" One of the girls answers for everyone, although she is just as baffled as the rest of them.
"Well, don't be nervous okay? Just relax and enjoy the film, treat us like you would your friends." I smile at them all in a friendly way trying to help them stay calm and relax, in all fairness they are staying incredibly calm - even though I can hear the thumping of their hearts fill the room.
"Yeah, we're actually pretty boring in all honesty, we don't do much." Harry chuckles, making some of them laugh in return as others gaze around the room in awe.
"I think we actually have..." I don't allow myself to finish my sentence as I remove myself from Harry's warm side and reach my hand into the crevice underneath the coffee table, pulling out a roll of plain white stickers. I smile triumphantly, "I knew we had stickers!"
Harry's eyes furrow at the stickers, probably wondering why we have them. "Why do we have them?" I chuckle to myself as he asks me that question, knowing by the previous look on his face that it would come sooner or later. My smirk remains as I hand them out to the fans, passing around several pens for them all to write their names on.
"I got them earlier this year when I did that Easter egg hunt for you, remember?" I smile at him, trying to trigger any memory of the event for him.
I try my best to make Harry happy on a daily basis, we always try and do different things and go to different places together because we know how rare our quality time is; it's either Harry around the world on tour for nine months or me in another country filming a new movie for six months or longer, when it comes to our jobs they can be so unpredictable, so we make the most of each other when we can.
Like for Easter, I used the rectangular white stickers to write little riddles to where the next egg was hidden, at the end was one of the biggest chocolate eggs I could find. Although, it didn't last long considering Harry had eaten it within that same week.
Our personal time together is precious considering it's so rare.
A small smirk falls onto Harry's face, him clearly remembering the joyous Easter Day. He chuckles inwardly to himself, forgetting about the other eleven people in the room as he reminisces happily.
Once he is finally back from his daydream he gives me a cheeky wink and bites his lower lip. Am I forgetting something or is he just thinking about a different day?
He nudges my shoulder playfully with his own, that smirk still on his face, glancing up at me through his dark eyelashes. "That was a good day." He smirks giving me a wink. At that moment I remembered what we did that night, realising why he has been smirking all this time. I laugh in embarrassment and hit him softly on the shoulder, my complexion now red and bashful as we both chuckle, the fans oblivious to our reasoning.
My head swivels around and notices their confused stares having no idea why me and Harry have just randomly started laughing. "Sorry," I murmur to them all, earning soft and sweet smiles, "okay, I know this is really cliché but, we'll go around everybody and we can all say a bit about ourselves." I offer, glancing at the first girl on my left.
"Hi my names Chloe and I love to ski!" She tells us all with a bright smile.
I return it and glance to the person next to her, "I'm Matt, I like to draw." He shrugs smiling, trying to be a typical lad but unable to contain the blushing smile from his face when I speak to him.
"I'm Nicole and my favourite colour is peach!" She chuckles giving us her random fact, her hand clutched tightly onto Matt's, them obviously being one of the couples in the group.
"I'm Kirsty and I love people with green eyes." She flirts, giving Harry a wink as she does so; I'd be a bit jealous if it weren't for the fact she was about thirteen and Harry is my husband. I chuckle humorously at her brave attempt though.
"I better watch my back then." I laugh, hearing a few giggles erupt from other fans in the room.
"As much as I would love to be with you babe, I'm kind of tied down." Harry teases, using his eyes to point silently and reference towards me. I roll my eyes at his actions, his large hands now resting lightly on my hips as I sit cross-legged beside and a little bit in front of him.
Kirsty rolls her eyes and huffs playfully, "it was worth a shot!" She argues.
"It certainly was." I smile looking over to the next person.
"Oh, hi, my names Aurora. Erm, I like, Erm, running?" She answers questionably, obviously not knowing what to answer and just blurting something random out. I chuckle and give her a curt nod in appreciation for her answer.
"I'm Josh, and I like sports." He mumbles, his arm wrapped around the unknown girl beside him.
"My names Ellie and I hate spiders." I giggle as Ellie shivers lightly, wrapped in Josh's arm, at the thought of a spider.
"Hi! My names Leo! I love Niall!" An Irish accent rung throughout the house, her smile wide and her eyes trained on myself and Harry, still not believing she is here; her eyes widen even more in realisation before she speaks, "I love you guys too!" She adds making me and Harry chuckle.
"Thank you." Harry laughs, calming her now racing nerves only slightly.
"I'm Claire and I love fashion!" A girl smiles happily, "and I love your outfit Emma, you're my style idol!" She happily adds.
I laugh and glance down at my casual attire, "thank you, I literally threw it on when I got in. I love my socks though!" I laugh, running my fingers over the fluffy material of my socks, the soft wool warm beneath my fingertips. I giggle as curiosity takes over Harry and he stretches his hand to feel my socks.
"They're very nice socks," he smiles, his fingers still feeling them. "Probably because I got her those." He winks at the group of fans making them laugh.
"And finally..." I ask the last girl, who has remained very quiet.
"I'm Lucy." She replies quietly, her voice just above a whisper but still loud enough for me to hear, "I love animals." Her head drops in embarrassment, as if she can feel the eleven pairs of eyes burning into her skin.
"Well then Lucy, meet Comet and Zazu!" I signal to the two lazy mammals sat curled up in their beds next to me and Harry on the floor. "If you want I can bring Zazu over to sit on you're lap? He won't do anything, he'll just sleep, and expect you to stroke him of course." I roll my eyes at my high maintenance cat.
"He's a bit of a diva." Harry adds, making me laugh considering that is exactly what Zazu is.
I take a hold of the lump of fur, cradling in my arms like you would a baby, before carefully handing him over to Lucy to do the same. Her arms wrapped tightly around his body like a baby as she tickles his furry belly. Harry and I laugh as Zazu embraces the pleasure and allows Lucy to tickle him. Her smile erupts at Zaz and she seems a lot brighter and more confident than before, she seems happier, and that's all we want!
"Okay, let's start the film!"
•••
After two hours, two pizzas, loads of snacks and three toilet breaks, me and Harry are finally saying goodbye to the fans.
Every single one of them was lovely, and they thanked us on countless occasions for letting them stay for a few hours in the warmth. They were a bit starstruck at first but half an hour in they were just talking to us like normal, they got comfortable around us and that's when we started to get to know them.
It was a new experience for both Harry and I, and I think that it was a real eye opener. No matter what some fans think of us or what we do, there are always some that stick by us no matter what. And they are all we need.
"That was really nice." I smile at Harry as I begin to pack all of the leftover food away.
"I know yeah, they were all really down to earth and they couldn't stop thanking us either." He returns as he takes some of the dirty cups and dishes into the kitchen.
I open my sinuses and take a large intake of breath, looking at Harry directly as he does the same to me, it's like a step back into reality as he begins to speak. "We have the New Years party tomorrow night you know?" Harry reminds me.
"Yeah. This year has gone so quickly, I don't know where the time goes. It feels like only yesterday that we got married." I sigh, wrapping my arms around Harry's waist and cuddling my face into his warm chest.
"Yep. And the day before that we first met." He chuckles, winding his familiar muscular and tattooed arms around my neck, his lips leaving a peck to the top of my head.
"I love you." I mumble into his chest, and although I could barely even hear myself, I knew that Harry had heard me perfectly clear as his grip tightens around me and he speaks the most perfect words I have ever heard.
"And I love you."
