After having gotten her phone, Annie rushed to the elevator because of the presence she felt.

Anyone who had been in the industry for more than a year knew reporters would stay inside their cars in the parking lot, hoping to catch a scandal, hence why managers were so careful there – aside from Dongchul, apparently. But still, it felt different this time, as if someone was looking straight at her.

The girl decided not to care much about it, though. She told herself she wasn't famous enough to have reporters following her or even sasaengs.

"Don't get too hopeful, girls, we were nominated lots of times already, but we only got a few awards."

Jaein whispered to the group when the clips of the nominees were projected on the big screen.

"You should be more optimistic...as a person and as a leader."

Annie commented with a bitter smile.

Her leader's attitude had been getting on her nerves lately.

"I'm just being realistic."

"...and the winner of the 35th Golden Disc Awards Rookie of the Year Awards is..."

The presenter took a big deep breath while smiling.

"...Flashlight, congratulations!"

The girls all looked at each other in surprise, Jaein being the most stunned.

Still bewildered, they made their way to the stage to give their speech.

"Candles! Thank you so much for this award. It's honestly all thanks to you. I'm actually really nervous right now. If you noticed me speaking slower than normal, that's why."

Boram commented with an uneasy smile, making the whole audience laugh.

After finishing her speech, Boram glanced at Annie, who then pushed Remi to speak.

"Hey, everyone! I'm Remi. I just want to say that..."

Being the complete opposite, Remi spoke quickly and loudly, also earning fond smiles.

Since their award wasn't the grand prize, they didn't have much time to talk, so after she was finished they went back to their seats.

"Why didn't you go when Boram looked at you? You should've gone!"

Remi slightly slapped her after they sat down.

"I'm saving my speech for when I win producer of the year."

She joked.

"You're a menace, you know that?"

"Yep, I hear it often."

The two laughed before focusing on the show again.

Although it didn't last long as they had to prepare for their stage.

"Just as we practised, okay? Flashlight, fighting!"

"Fighting!"

They shouted together and ran to their positions.

The first song would be an unreleased track, "Crazy Over You" is a single the group plans to drop in February, so this would be a tease. Secondly, they were performing a bside from their latest mini album called "Log In". And, of course, they'd finish it off with "Wannabe", only it wasn't going to be the full song since they didn't have time to do so.

Needless to say, they nailed every stage. The cheers after they performed were much louder than when they got the award.

"That was so fun!"

"I don't think I've ever enjoyed a stage as much as I did tonight."

Annie replied with a smile despite barely having the energy to breathe.

"You did really well, girls! Now let's fix your makeup and go back to the ceremony, shall we?"

Yujin directed them to where the makeup artists and hairstylists were staying.

"I told you you didn't need to be nervous... you did amazing."

Annie approached the youngest.

"You did too! Oh, hi!"

Boram complimented her before greeting the vlog camera.

Around 15 minutes later, the whole group sat back down, ready to try to be awake for another 2 hours at least.

There were a few interesting performances, but there was one thing Annie was more curious about.

"...and behind every popular song, there's a hard working producer. I remember seeing this person's name on the credit list of an O.S.T. this year."

The actor read the prompt, and Annie's hopes only grew higher.

She produced and wrote the lyrics for a song called "My Beauty", the original soundtrack for the drama "Extraordinary You".

"...everyone, please give a round of applause for the Producer of The Year of the 2021 Golden Disc Awards...Spike!"

"Oh my–"

The camera panned to her, and you could hear loud gasps coming from the audience and even a few from the artists' area.

"Go!"

Remi got up just to push her friend to the stage.

"Oh, uhm...hello, I'm FLASHLIGHT's member and also the producer Spike, Annie, nice to meet you. To be honest, I was hoping to get this award, but actually standing here feels different."

She laughed awkwardly.

"For everyone wondering why I kept my identity hidden all these years...well, let's just say I didn't want to get caught on the prejudice about idol producers. I was also only 17 when I started this job, so I wanted to be extra cautious."

She glanced at the small timer near the floor.

"Uhm, anyway... I'd like to thank everyone who made this dream come true, really. My family, especially, I'd like to thank my parents for supporting my dream because if it wasn't for them, this wouldn't be possible. Thank you to my company, too, who was oddly supportive of me producing for other companies. Thanks, JYP!"

Annie ended with a smile, stepping out of the stage while being applauded loudly, mainly by the artists – with a special mention to Verivery, who kept yelling and jumping.
