65. Home date - pt.2

| January 3rd, Saturday, 2021 |

After almost half an hour, the couple finished their lunch and also the whole wine bottle.

Fortunately, the liquid wasn't that high on alcohol, so both of them were still pretty much sober.

"I'll do the dishes, you can sit down."

"No, no. You already cooked, it's a basic rule for me to do the dishes."

Annie said, pushing him with her hips as she filled the sponge with detergent.

"That's only for friends, you're my girlfriend, you should be treated as royalty."

"Oh, my- you say those things so carelessly."

The girl mumbled nervously.

"What? Aren't you my girlfriend?"

"Yeah, but!"

Minho stood beside her, waiting with his back against the sink.

"Not anyone gets to be my girlfriend, so you deserve a reward for reaching that level."

She scoffed.

"You're so full of yourself."

He grinned, moving his body so he'd stand behind the girl.

"What are you doing?"

Annie asked with furrowed eyebrows, confused but not exactly surprised.

"Helping you with the dishes."

Minho said before slowly wrapping his arms around her waist, chin rested on her left shoulder.

Annie's hands stopped moving for two seconds before she got back to her senses. She wasn't about to show how much impact this little act had on her.

How is this helping?!

Does he think he's a drama character or what?

"Did I affect you? You forgot to rinse that part."

He pointed with his chin and Annie didn't dare to turn her head.

"I was just checking if you're actually helping."

"Hm, I see."

Minho held a laugh to spare the girl from more embarrassment.

Eventually, he decided to leave and prepare the next part of their date. Therefore, Annie was able to finish doing the dishes successfully.

"Done!"

She clapped her hands together before looking around the room.

Where did he go?

Unlike you'd think, Annie wasn't used to this dormitory. She had been here two, maybe three times and all of them she'd only stay in the living room with a few outings to the bathroom – except that one time Changbin decided to watch a movie inside his room.

"Min?"

"Hey!"

He walked out from a room with arms filled with candies and snacks.

"Woah! Where did you get these from?"

She spoke excitedly while helping him bring the items to the living room.

"Don't tell me you girls don't have a hidden box with snacks your managers don't allow you to eat?"

He commented as if it was the most common thing in the world.

Annie's eyes gave him the answer.

"Well, now you know."

They threw them all on the coffee table.

She sat down on the couch first, Minho choosing the place that was around 50cm away from her.

"Oh, come on, you got rid of personal space when you glued your body on mine when I was doing the dishes."

Annie snuggled to him, resting her head on his chest.

You could say Annie was the type to get over things very quickly...whatever it was.

Besides, she had a brother and a male best friend, skinship with the opposite sex wasn't something she was afraid of.

...it only takes her by surprise sometimes.

And there's also the fact she hates losing.

"What are we watching?"

"Forgotten with Kang Haneul, are you down?"

Minho asked despite already knowing the answer.

"Absolutely! This has been on my watch list for months now."

Forgotten is a psychological mystery thriller about Jinseok, whose brother's came back home after being abducted acting very differently and without any memory of the past 19 days. The movie is about Jinseok's journey to find out exactly what happened to his brother.

In other words, one of Annie's favourite types of movies.

Minho hit play after she filled her hand with home run balls.

Despite the silence throughout the movie, none of them felt bothered. Both of them were extremely focused, paying attention to every detail and making short comments every here and there.

The sun was setting and, with that, a thought crossed Annie's mind.

Would Minho invite her to stay the night?

If so, she had nothing against it, they've slept in the same room before, twice.

"What about hamburgers?"

Annie suggested the delivery menu for dinner.

"Great! I'm getting zero coke, you?"

"Uhm...Bong Bong! Grape. But I'm ordering."

"Weren't we supposed to alternate? You washed the dishes, remember?"

He raised one eyebrow.

"Well, you bought expensive wine. Besides, I have more than enough money to buy us dinner."

"And I am the one who's full of themselves..."

Minho mumbled loud enough for her to hear.

"We both are."

The girl said, not looking back at him as she was placing their order.

"Done. It says 15 minutes."

"Cool, we can talk a little, then."

"About?"

Annie put her phone away, crossing her legs and turning to him.

"What are your plans for vacation? I know your family is here, are you going out with them?"

"Yeah, we're- Hold on, how do you know my family is here? I don't remember telling you that."

He grinned awkwardly.

"Hyoseop told me..."

"Since when are you two so close?!"

"He's my big brother now!"

Minho smiled even wider.

So Hyoseop really liked him, huh?

I'm glad he also got a friend.

"Alright, but I hope you two don't forget I'm the actual sister!"

"Are you jealous of me and your brother?"

"Why would I be? I know you two love me more than each other."

She shrugged her shoulders with a smirk on.

"Oh, God..."

Annie cleared her throat upon his tone of disappointment.

"Anyway, back to the topic. I have a schedule in Jeju so they're going with me, I'm not sure about other plans."

"A schedule? On your vacation? In Jeju?"

"Yeah, I'm MCing for an International Music Festival. I wasn't forced, though! Yujin told me it was going to be during our break and I accepted it anyway, I don't get these opportunities often."

She clarified seeing his change in expression.

"That's cool! Does it mean you'll be talking in English, then?"

"Hm."

"And can I go watch..?"

"Eh?"

The last thing Annie would expect is her boyfriend watching her from the audience. Turn on the TV for a few minutes? Yeah, she thought that would be nice, but actually going there? No way.

"Aren't you leaving to your hometown on Monday? The Festival is on Tuesday."

"Ayy, a flight from Gimpo to Jeju takes less than two hours! I won't go if you don't want me to, though."

"No, no, no! I'd love to have you there! I just don't want you to miss out on family time."

Annie knew pretty well how precious it was when they got a few days of break. The girl was never able to visit her parents despite really wanting to, she was not about to stop Minho from doing that just to see her.

"I won't! I usually just stay there for two or three days and then go somewhere else on my own."

"Ah, I see."

She smiled timidly.

"What about tomorrow? Do you have any plans?"

Minho spoke again after a minute of silence.

"Hm...not yet, why?"

"Nothing, just wanted to know."

She nodded, going back to scrolling on her phone.

"Food is here! I'll be back in a second."

Knowing it was better not to go to avoid getting pictured by fans and fuel a rumour, Minho just nodded.

As soon as he heard the door closing, Minho texted Annie's brother.

"I'm back~"

Annie placed the paper bag on the kitchen table and watched Minho approach her.

"Why do you have a mischievous smile on?"

"Nothing, I was talking with a friend."
