Chapter XXXV
Music swam through the apartment as the lounge and bedroom were vacant of anyone's presence. Apollyon stood in the kitchen, cutting vegetables on the cutting board as he softly hummed along to the music playing in the background. The washroom door in the bedroom swung open as Eleanora stepped out in a pair of denim jeans with a grey long sleeves shirt. Brushing her hair, she stepped out of the room and into the kitchen. Her footsteps grabbing Apollyon's attention who smiled adoringly at her.
He looked well. Finally, he was back on track.
He didn't wake up in the middle of the night anymore, screaming and crying. He didn't hold back from Eleanora and grabbed her whenever he felt like it. The dark circles beneath his eyes had gone, his frown was replaced with a smile and his eyes sparkled with mirth.
He looked as good as new.
Eating more and looking after himself along with Eleanora. Seeing the visible change in him, Eleanora became more relaxed and was looking well herself.
Rather full and glowing.
Apollyon reached out towards her as she placed her hand into his waiting palm. Twirling her around, he pulled her to him, her back pressed against his chest as he placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Hey, love." Apollyon greeted with a smile before he turned back towards the food he was frying, moving it around the pan. "How was the check up?"
"Fine." She shrugged as he wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her ear against his shoulder blade. "Dr. Harold was telling me that my health seemed better, and he seemed rather happy with it."
"That's great." Apollyon smiled as he placed a kiss on her temple. "I hope you're hungry because I made fried chicken with rice."
"Yum!" Eleanora exclaimed as she got on her tiptoes and placed a kiss on his cheek. "I'm starved."
"That's great news." Apollyon grinned as he dished it up onto a plate. "Hey, did you finish your homework?"
"Yeah. I managed to get most of it done at school and I only had about two questions left, so I did them once we got home." She informed him as they both settled down at the table and ate the food.
"That's good, you'll be free for the rest of the day."
"I'm 18." Eleanora spoke almost disbelievingly after a long silence. "Wow."
Apollyon chuckled at her as he continued to eat.
"I wanna try alcohol." She continued with determination as she noticed Apollyon's movements faulter for a moment before he continued eating, almost ignoring her comment.
"And why do you wanna do that?" He asked calmly as he continued to eat.
"I don't know," she shrugged almost dismissively. "It just seems cool."
"There is nothing cool about drinking alcohol and getting a hangover in the morning." Apollyon snapped suddenly as she jumped back at his tone. "What I mean to say is; you can't go into a bar because there are going to be a lot of people and a lot of noise which will only result in a headache for you."
"Okay." She nodded in response as she continued to eat her food.
"I'm sorry, baby, I didn't mean to snap at you." Apollyon apologised as he got up and crouched beside her seat, cupping her chin in his hands as he turned her to be facing him. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay." She nodded with a soft smile as she placed a peck on his cheek as he chuckled at the action.
"You'll have the full 'finally legal' experience, I promise. Just...be patient." He smiled at her as he rubbed his thumb over her jaw as she smiled at him.
"I'll hold you to that promise, Mr. Masters."
"I don't doubt that you will."

Eleanora sat in bed, reading a book as Apollyon had left an hour ago since he had an errand to run. Suddenly her bedroom door swung open as her boyfriend peeked his head in with a mischievous smile.
"You're still up, great." He enthused while stepping into the room.
"Yeah? Is everything alright?"
"Yup. Why don't come on into the kitchen?" Apollyon smiled. "I have something for you."
"What?"
"Just come into the kitchen."
"Okay, okay." Eleanora exclaimed as she got out of bed and followed after him into the kitchen. Upon her entrance she was greeted by Apollyon leaning against the counter that had a glass bottle and two small glasses placed on top of it. "What's this?"
"You're 'finally legal' experience." He smirked at her as he uncapped the bottle and poured the clear contents into the two shot glasses.
"A-alcohol?" She stuttered nervously as excitement bubbled in her stomach.
"Vodka, to be more exact." He informed as he handed one shot glass to her, standing opposite her. "Just one shot and that's it."
"Yeah! Okay!" She squealed in excitement as she looked into her glass. "How do you do this?"
"Gulp the contents in one go, no matter how much it might burn." Apollyon informed. "I'll bet that you're a light weight."
"Maybe?"
"Well, there is only one way to finding out." He grinned as he held up his glass. "Here's to being 18."
"To being 18." Eleanora recited as she clinked her glass with his. "Cheers." She breathed out as they both looked into each others eyes, bringing the glass to their lips as they tossed back the contents, gulping it down in one go.
The burning hit her almost instantly as her eyes stung with the sensation. She slammed the glass onto the marble counter as she braced it, gagging at the pungent taste that infiltrated her tastebuds and shook her head to rid herself of it. Looking over her shoulder at Apollyon, he stood with his eyes pinched at the bitterness as he was pinching the bridge of his nose, not gagging like her.
"That's good stuff." He commented as he put the glass down, looking at Eleanora as he noticed her sway her in her place. "Like I said: lightweight."
"Shut up." She hiccuped before giggling at the way she sounded. "Can I have another?"
"Nope." Apollyon shook his head as he grabbed the bottle and put it in a cabinet far out of her reach.
"Aww! Come on, Apollyon!" She whined as she wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing herself against him as he looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Just one more shot?"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Pretty please with a cherry on top?" She inquired as she ran her finger down his chest as she peeked at him from below her lashes.
"Absolutely not."
"Okay, okay." She relented as she stopped running her finger down his chest and pressed herself closer to him. "Then, pretty please with me on top?" She spoke in a sultry manner and gave him a flirtatious smile as he looked at her from the tip of his nose.
"No."
"You're no fun." She complained as she pushed herself away from him.
"I have my priorities straight." He shrugged as he put away the shot glasses, rinsing them as he put them on the wrack to dry.
"Is it just me, or is it getting warm in here?" Eleanora asked as she heaved herself onto the counter and fanned herself.
"Nope, just you." He informed as he turned around just in time to catch her take off her sweater, which was soon followed by her long sleeved shirt, leaving her in her black tank top. "What are you doing?"
"Stripping." She giggled as she threw her shirt away before leaning back on her hands.
"Honestly." Apollyon shook his head as he leaned against the table opposite her, watching her with a raised eyebrow. "You're such a tease."
"Says the guy who refused 'pretty please with me on top'."
"Touché."
Apollyon silently watched Eleanora as she was swinging her legs back and forth like a little child. Sighing, he rubbed a hand over his face before addressing her. "How about sleep? I'm tired."
"What? Are the nightmares back, again?" Eleanora exclaimed in panic as she looked up at him with wide eyes.
"What? No." He spoke in confusion. "I just had a long day."
"Oh! You scared me for a minute there." She giggled as she rubbed her palms against her thighs.
"What do you mean by that?"
"By what?"
"What did you mean 'are the nightmares back again'?" Apollyon asked skeptically as he stood straight to his towering height and crossed his arms over his chest. The look he was giving her had Eleanora fidget in her seat as instantly he was on high alert. "Eleanora, what did you do?"
"I couldn't just sit around and watch you suffer..." She murmured solemnly while avoiding his gaze.
"Eleanora, what did you do?"
"I had to..."
"What did you do?!" He snapped at her as anger started to bubble inside his system.
"I asked him to take them away...he said he could take them away."
"Asked who to take what away?!" Apollyon growled as he glared at her as she couldn't answer him. Grabbing her chin, he turned her to face him as his teeth were gritted together. "Answer me, Eleanora."
"I asked Gabriel to take away your nightmares." She spoke softly as hurt and betrayal passed over Apollyon's face, vanishing in the blink of an eye and being replaced by a poker face. "He made me a deal, saying that he would take away your nightmares in return of me spending an hour with him every night once you were asleep. Teach him the meaning of humanity and what makes humans what they are."
"You didn't." He spoke softly, backing away from her as his voice was laced with hurt.
"Please don't hate me..." She trailed softly as she looked at him pleadingly.
"Even after I told you to stay away from him?!" He snapped. "Eleanora! There is a reason I told you to stay away from him! Why can't you listen!?"
"I couldn't watch you suffer night after night! Breaking apart like that!" She exclaimed as hot tears gathered in her eyes. "You were scared of touching me! You were terrified by the prospect of looking at me! We were strangers to each other, Apollyon!"
Apollyon slammed his hands down onto the kitchen counter as his back was turned towards her, his breathing shallow and laboured as he tried to reign in the anger that coursed through his veins. Stalking over to him, she grabbed his arm and forced him to face her as she grabbed his jaw into her hand, her short-clipped-nails digging into his chin. "Look me in the eye and tell me that you wouldn't do the same if the situation was reversed."
Apollyon stared at her in silence as she repeated herself. "Look me in the eyes and tell me that you wouldn't do the same for me if I had been the one suffering night after night. Tell me you wouldn't do the same."
He didn't answer and instead pulled away from her grasp. "What else happened? What else did you and Gabriel do?"
"W-we...uh..."
"What?" Apollyon growled as he had an iron grip around the edge of the marble counter. "Time to come clean, Eleanora. An absolute clean slate."
"W-we...once, it was a one time occurrence..."
"What was?"
"I stole two of your cigarettes and we tried them." She spook meekly as she twisted her fingers together, looking down at her feet as she was afraid of the look of anger on Apollyon's face.
"And?" He gritted out as he tried to clam himself.
"H-he..."
"He what?!"
"H-he nearly...n-nearly kissed me." She spoke in a small whisper before a gasp escaped her lips as he roughly grabbed her by her shoulders, pushing her against the wall as he had her caged in. The look of fury evident on his face by the way he had his jaw clenched tightly, his eyes ablaze with fire.
"He what?" He asked in a calm tone as she whimpered in fright.
"He nearly kissed me." Eleanora spoke again, looking down. "But I pulled away from him before he could." She rushed out in a hurry.
Apollyon chuckled humourlessly as he decreased the space between them, leaning down to be at face level with her as their noses were almost touching. "So, you mean to tell me, that my asshole of a brother, 'nearly' kissed my girlfriend. Who pulled away before he could? Or after he had planted his lips on hers?"
"B-before?"
"Are you sure? Because that sounds like a question to me."
"I-I'm sure."
"Don't lie to me Eleanora, because if you are, I will punish you so bad that you will remember it even after you are sober." He threatened as he looked down at her lips while licking his own, an evil and lustful look clouding his eyes. Eleanor gulped nervously as she felt his hands go to the back of her thighs before he lifted her off her feet, forcing her to wrap her legs around his waist.
"Tell me the truth right now, Eleanora, and I promise to be lenient with you." He told her huskily as he started to pepper kisses on her neck, knowing that this would melt her resolve as she grasped his shoulders tightly.
"H-his lisp had touched mine briefly." She gritted out as she tried to bite back the moan that threatened to spill.
"And?" Apollyon asked against her neck.
"And I pulled away." Eleanora informed him, her hold on him tightening.
"Is that the entire truth?"
"Y-yes." She said breathlessly. "T-that's the entire truth."
"Good." He spoke as he pulled away from her, releasing his hold on her as she slid down to the floor, looking up at him in bewilderment.
"Promise me that you won't meet with him again." Apollyon spoke seriously, all hints of lust gone from his demeanour.
"I promise." She spoke without skipping a beat.
"As a matter of fact, call him right now, and tell him that you can't meet with him anymore. In front of me."
"A-Apollyon..." She trailed for a moment as his gaze hardened at her hesitation.
"Are you going to do it, or not?!"
Eleanora jumped back at his harsh tone as she came to stand at the Center of the kitchen, Apollyon behind and leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest.
"Gabriel? Gabriel, Apollyon is asleep, you can come now." She spoke towards the ceiling as everything fell silent. After a moment, the figure of an 18-year-old guy materialised in front of her as the person had a wide grin on their face at the sight of Eleanora, but fell once they noticed the presence behind her.
"Y-you said..." He trailed as he looked from Eleanora to Apollyon standing behind her, menacingly glaring at the guy in front of him over Eleanora's head.
"She lied, Gabriel." Apollyon grinned. "Something humans commonly do."
"B-but why?" Gabriel asked in bewilderment. "Why did you lie, Sanctitas?"
"Because I needed you to come in front of Apollyon." Eleanora spoke nervously. "H-he knows everything that has been going on."
"H-how?!"
"I told him." She informed just as Apollyon snaked an arm around her waist, pulling her against his chest, showing Gabriel that she was his.
"Why? Why did you tell him? We had a deal."
"I'm breaking that deal." Eleanora swallowed thickly. "You can't come here anymore. We can't talk and be friends. You are bad for me. Stay away."
"Are those your wishes or Lucifer's?" Gabriel demanded in distaste as Apollyon glowered at him.
"They are my wishes." Eleanora stated firmly. "I told Apollyon on my own accord, and I want you to leave me and my boyfriend alone."
"Sanctitas..."
"I told you to leave us!" Eleanora exclaimed as he looked at her in hurt. "Apollyon's trust and love matter more to than just an hour spent with you." Apollyon smirked at that as he placed a kiss on Eleanora's temple just add salt to the wound.
"I will leave." Gabriel nodded. "If that is what you wish."
With that he vanished as Eleanora slumped against Apollyon's chest, her breathing shallow as she couldn't believe how mean she was to him, and how much she must have hurt his feelings. She felt Apollyon rub her arms in comfort as he murmured soothing words into her ear, calming her down. Once she was breathing normally, Apollyon turned her in his arm as he pulled her flush against him, smashing his lips to hers in a possessive kiss.
"You did good, baby girl." He assured her once he pulled away from her. "Believe me when I tell you that he was simply trouble."
"I-I...I believe you." She nodded as she watched him duck his head to capture her lips once more, as she allowed him to dominate her.
