Mr. Mason's Mansion

A loud crack was heard which caught everyone's attention.

Sheik and Link went into the kitchen to see Zelda laying on the floor. Zelda was having a seizure and was shaking on the ground.

A medic came in together with Urbosa.

The medic analyzed Zelda's condition, she had bigger pupils than usually unstable heartbeat and dry skin.

"Did she consume anything today?" the medic asked in a calm voice.

"Tea, she had a tea." 

Urbosa handed them the pack where Zelda got the flavor from.

"Okay good, get that to the labor as quickly as possible we need to know what happened to her." Link told Sheik and Urbosa

"No labor needed." Sheik held the package in his hand. "This is belladonna, it's a drug often mixed with hot water. It's poisonous that's why it's mixed with water, it tastes sweet when drunk as tea. You instantly get hallucination."

Link was now fearing Zelda's life.

"Will she survive?" Link asked the medic.

"She's doing okay, but we need to get her into a hospital now."

"I'm going with her, Sheik you lead the investigation." Link said before heading to the hospital with Zelda.

Zelda woke up in a white room cuffed onto her bed. Next to her is Charlotte.

Zelda looked at her.

"You're not real." Zelda calmly said to her "You're a hallucination."

"I guess it depends, for me, I'm real."

"Why am I cuffed?"

"They are currently operating you to get the drugs out of you."

Zelda can hear the doctors working.

"Well, you are my sister then right?" Zelda was now fully aware of Charlotte not being real, it hurt her but she tried not to focus on it. "Or at least what I imagined you would look and behave like when you grow up."

"And do you like what I've become?"

"You're a bit cheeky." Zelda said which caused them both to laugh. 

"Well, I got that from you." Charlotte said with laughter.

"I guess. I'm not a fan of it myself."

"Well, you're not exactly what I wanted too." Charlotte said and caused pain in Zelda's heart.

"What do you mean?"

"What happened to you? I'm dead for almost a year and you aren't one step further than the day I died. You live with your obsession with our murderer, our parents wouldn't like that.

"What happened back then and what I do to get my revenge is my matter, not yours." Zelda was still hurt but not mad or anything similar. "Show some respect." Zelda had a calm voice she wasn't harsh in the slightest.

"Eh hello? I'm only alive in your fantasy, show some respect yourself." both were talking quietly to each other. "You hide in that case, does anyone truly know you and who you are?"

"Yes."

"Who?" Charlotte asked. "Come on tell me. Who?"

Zelda turned away from Charlotte and whispered a name.

"Link.... Link." She said it louder until Link heard it, he instantly got up and walked over to her.

"Hey Zelda, you're going to be fine again. You took-"

"Drugs, I took drugs which gave me hallucinations." Zelda said quietly almost whispering. "It was in the tea right?"

"Yeah, Belladonna it might take some hours for the effects to vanish."

Zelda looked and talked like she was on drugs, which she was.

"How do you feel Zelda?" Link was amused by Zelda's behavior.

"Thirsty, could you get me something to drink?" Zelda just pretended to be almost dead and not aware of things around her to get Link to go away.

Link got up to get her something to drink but when he returned Zelda was gone.

Zelda walked out of the hospital looking for her car, when she saw it she got in and looked at the seat next to her. It was Charlotte sitting there.

"You're still here?"

"You're still on drugs." Charlotte laughed.

"Well, I have to agree."

"You really shouldn't drive, and definitely not with a car from the ambulance." 

Zelda looked around confused and then realized it wasn't her car but instead a car from the ambulance.

"Wow, that tea was damn hard on me." Zelda looked out the window and saw Link coming. "Oh-oh." is all she could say.

"Now you're stealing cars?" Link was annoyed.

"No, I just enjoy the way it looks on the inside." 

Link looked at her with a face that said that she needs to get back into the hospital.

"You need to rest!" Link was telling her knowing she wouldn't agree.

"Noo, I need to go back to the place of the murder."

Charlotte looked at Zelda.

"And this one? Does he have a girlfriend?" 

"Stop talking." That is what Zelda replied to her. Link was confused about who she was talking to.

"I didn't even say anything." Link was more than confused.

"Can you wait Link? I'm talking to my hallucination."

"Huh?" he was now sure that she was still way too much on drugs to be let out of the hospital. "To your bed, now!"

"No, my hallucinations might give me hints to solve the murder."

"Okay, we drive when you aren't high anymore."

"Then I might have forgotten it all, but now? I got clear Visions I'm telling you." Zelda laughed while talking funny again.

"So you want to solve this murder on drugs?"

"Some of the biggest artists worked on drugs."

"And you are now creating something like that as well? Yeah of course."

Charlotte interrupted.

"I like him."

"Me too." is what Zelda replied, happy that Link didn't hear what Charlotte said.

"Zelda, you're scaring me."

"I didn't want to take drugs but it was the path chosen for me, so I have to continue that path." Zelda said that with a very psychological voice, Link of course knew it was bullshit but was too annoyed to argue back anymore.

They went to the crime scene and went through the events until they ended up in the garden where Zelda met Charlotte. But there wasn't a garden now, it was a pool. 

Zelda saw Charlotte jumping in the pool.

"Okay, Zelda so what happened here."

"Here's where I met Charlotte, my sister."

"Is that who you are talking to the whole time?"

"Yes."

"What is she doing now?"

"Swimming, I taught her that."

"Zelda, maybe your brain didn't give you hints to solve the murderer but gave you what you always wanted, to see your sister grown up." Link was careful with his words not to hurt Zelda in which he succeeded. "We should go back to the hospital now."

"Workplace, we need to go there Charlotte got me there. When we are done there I will go back to the hospital I promise."

And so they made their way to the workplace of Mr. Mason.

When they arrived they started looking around. 

Charlotte once again appeared for Zelda.

"This is boring why do you work here anyway?" Charlotte was drying off her hair while talking.

"You know that. I try to find your murderer."

Charlotte rolled her eyes. 

"Hmph okay, and even if you catch him."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean we are dead. We don't care about you catching him, we want you to live your life and be happy not, whatever you are right now!"

"I'm doing this just for you and our parents." Zelda's heart was aching. Was it really all for nothing?

"I'm sorry that I have to tell you, but we are dead. We couldn't care less what happens to our family's murderer. You can't let us down since we are no more."

Zelda wanted to say something but can't she knows that her sister is right but she didn't want to give up. She was still out for revenge but not as determined as before.

"Move to the side please." Zelda told Charlotte.

Charlotte moved and rolled her eyes annoyed that her sister won't listen.

"And don't roll your eyes in front of me."

The team continued searching the room until they found the diamond that got stolen in the pocket by a coworker of Mr. Mason.

They arrested him and Zelda turned to Charlotte.

"Well, I have to go then." Charlotte said.

"Wait where are you going?"

"I'm almost an adult now I don't have to tell you where I go."

"I mean yes, but will you come back?" Zelda knew the answer to the question but didn't want to accept it.

"I love you, big sis." Charlotte turned away.

"Zelda, are you coming?"

"Not now Link." 

Zelda turned back around to talk to Charlotte again but when she turned around she was gone. Charlotte was gone and Zelda looked into an empty room.

"Wait." Zelda whispered with tears in her eyes.

Her sister wasn't coming back, she would never see her again.

Back at the headquarters, everything pointed at, that the coworker was guilty but Link thought otherwise.

They found the diamond in his bag and his fingerprints on the tool used to kill Mr. Mason. 

"No, I'm missing out on something. He isn't the murderer." Link was sure but the rest thought otherwise.

"Link, there is nothing that tells us that he isn't the killer, he had motive and the possibility to do it." Zelda was now clean again, the drugs stopped doing their thing.

"Okay, I think I got it. Hear me out." Everybody looked at Link.

"So, the gardener found a chain pendant on the ground it was an eagle right?"

"Yeah, right it belonged to the neighbor called Betty." Mipha agreed with Link's statement.

"Okay, so what do eagles stand for? They fly and they live high in trees. When I was outside I saw that you have a perfect view from the highest floor from the neighbor's house into the kitchen from Mr. Mason. It was also her bedroom."

"How do you know it is her bedroom?" Urbosa asked.

"Well, it had darkened window's and nobody would have a toilet up there so it can only be the bedroom."

"Wait, but Betty said she couldn't see the kitchen from her bedroom." Zelda intertwined 

"So she lied, but why?" Link knew he almost had the murder. "Let's check her finances, I wanna know if she was in debt."

"Okay, give me a second." Sheik looked it up, okay yes she is in very deep debt. 

"Good, so we got her but this isn't enough we have to set her up with a trap." Link was thinking of a way to trick Betty into admitting the murder."

Link and Zelda are standing at the crime scene when Betty shows up in a car behind them.

"So how is the investigation going?" Betty asked with a friendly voice.

"To be honest we are stuck currently." Link replied.

"Oh, if you want you can come into my house, and maybe I can help."

"Yeah sure." Now Zelda said.

They walked into her house and sat down at the table.

"Could I make myself some tea?" Link asked.

"Oh yeah sure." Betty friendly answered.

While Zelda and betty were talking Link was making tea.

When Link came back with the tea he gave all 3 of them a cup of it.

When he sat back down Betty got scared for a second feeling something on her feet. She looked under the table to see a bunny.

"Oh my, where did this come from?" 

"Where did what come from?" Link and Zelda looked under the table as well and pretended to not see anything.

"This bunny can't you see it?"

Link and Zelda started talking extremely weirdly, they made up words and it sounded like two sims were talking. Betty was confused and then realized that she probably drank the poisonous tea that she gave her neighbor to knock him out and steal the smaller diamonds from him. 

Betty rushed to the kitchen to see the belladonna package laying next to the hot water. She took a bag out of the kitchen and rushed out where she was stopped by Sheik.

"No you have to get me to the hospital, I just drank belladonna!" Betty was scared for her life.

"It was strawberry." Link walked out the door with Zelda. 

Zelda grabbed the bag to find the small diamonds also stolen from Mr. Mason.

Betty realized she was caught, she had the diamonds and indirectly admitted that she knew that her neighbor was poisoned with belladonna.

At the headquarters Betty admitted to the murder and the case was solved.

Author's Note:

For everybody sho may not understand the end of this chapter.

Basically, due to the neighbor of the victim lying Link got suspicious, he then decides to trap the neighbor. He does that by pretending to give her belladonna, the poisonous tea flavor which Zelda took as well. In that way, they knew that she knew about the belladonna and its effects on a person (which isN#t that commonly known) and they found smaller diamonds in one of her closets.

Alrighty, so. This chapter ends rather suddenly but it was long anyway.

I am trying to put character development and some murder cases into the chapters. I think I was doing fine here in these 2 chapters.
