Link has officially been named a detective. 1 month after his family's murder, no suspects nothing has happened.

Link was frustrated. He decided to go after the killer himself as soon as he was named detective.

He was investigating for months. He got help from Detective Hyrule from time to time.

Both were desperate to find some sort of clue something that would help them find the killers.

Yes, killers as in multiple. The murder of their families took place at the same time. Which means there are two.

After another 2 months, Link was getting closer while Zelda was still not having anything.

Link tracked down the killer of his family, he was paid to kill his family. It was obvious by who. But there was no evidence of Groose being involved. So Groose was still free.

When Link found his killer in a lost place he perfectly set the whole situation up so he could shoot and kill his family's killer. 

He killed the person who killed his life. 3 months ago he would never wanted to kill or even hurt anybody, now he was setting people up, putting them into traps so he could kill them. He didn't look at it like this, all he saw was that his family was avenged.

Link was freed from the burden of having to hunt behind someone. He didn't take a single day off after the murder. He was on a hunt and now that the hunt is over for him he took a break. He quit his job and went on vacation trying to find peace, trying to find himself again.

He was gone for 6 whole months, traveling all over the world. He went from Japan to Greece to Australia, no matter what he did, he never seemed to find what he was looking for. He needed someone to help him.

He returned to Hyrule City, buying himself a small place where he could live. He retook his job at HCPD. That's when his life changed again.

He talked to the Captain, he told him that he would now be working with Detective Hyrule as partners.

That included working closely with Urbosa, Mipha and the new addition of Sheik.

But he would mainly work with Detective Hyrule. 

Captain Fury called in a meeting with all of the coworkers.

"Okay so I'm sure you all know Link, he returned to us and I thought he would be a great addition to this team."

"Captain with all due respect, I don't think we are in need of another member of this team."

These words by Detective Hyrule hurt Link. He was trying to be under people again to grow close to people again and he wasn't wanted here as well.

"I don't think your opinion is really needed nor wanted here. I made a decision and you will have to work with that no matter how much you don't like it."

Detective Hyrule was extremely mad and left the room, the other members of the team were staying greeting and welcoming him back.

Link was happy that at least they seemed to be happy to have him back, but what Detective Hyrule had said still hurt him.

"You guys stay here." Captain Fury went out of the room and told the Detective that she was supposed to do the ceremony to make Link do his oath.

Detective Hyrule came in with anger in her eyes. She walked towards Link and said 

"You know what to do here, you're not that dump"

Link got on his knee, kneeling before the Detective. She looked at him with despite in her eyes. 

That's when other people at the HCPD got the attention especially one person. Revali. He was supposed to get the spot but because of Link's return, he didn't get it. 

Revali said to the members of the team

"I can't believe this, they really gave the spot to this dude, who came in a few days ago, instead of me who clearly deserves it more. I mean look at her, she seems to agree."

"You need to shut up. This guy was the best in his class, which you were in too, also he tracked down his family's killer all by himself. The reason she looks like that is because she was never able to track her family's killer and he was. He reminds her of what she failed at."

That's when the ceremony ended and Revali left. Zelda also left as quickly as she could.

"Guys we got a case." Sheik said into the silence.

Everybody got up and went to their cars going with their partners, which means Link drove with Detective Hyrule and Sheik with Urbosa and Mipha.

Link and detective Hyrule didn't speak a single word with each other. When they arrived at the crime scene they were shocked. 

There it was again. 

A blood-red smiley drawn over at the opposite side of the room. 

When the rest arrived they were also shocked, they knew everything about this. Everything there was to know about that smiley. 

Link broke the silence "This wasn't him."

"What?" everybody except for Detective Hyrule asked.

"He's right. This wasn't him. Look at where the smiley is placed, with his victims you always first look at the smiley, then you look at the victim, here you first have to look at the victim" 

That's when an officer came in. 

"Oh, I see you are all already here, good to see you again Link." Link nodded. "So as you can see this victim was stabbed. The other victim laying in the closet is a guy named Leroy Jenkins. Her name is Carol Danvers. The two seemed to have an affair since they both had sex before their death. She worked at a hospital for mentally unstable persons. Where he worked we don't know"

"Thanks, officer"

"No problem, call me if there are any questions left."

The doctor left again leaving the team alone.

"Okay so first we should speak to her husband and then to the people she works with. Link and I are going to talk to the husband and to her coworkers you can talk to the neighbors of this house."

They all did as the Detective said. She and Link then went to the husband.

Link started walking around the house, seeing all the things lying there.

"Okay, so Mr. Denvers it seems like your wife had an affair with the second victim, were you aware of that?"

"Listen I get it, you don't have a suspect so the husband was the killer, but when we came here she was already dead."

"Listen your wife had an affair and you come home and she is dead, that makes you a suspect. So I'd advise you that you rather talk to me now."

"Okay, no I wasn't aware of it."

"Okay, we'll let you know if we need anything else."

Link nodded and they then went to the hospital.

They started talking to the chef of Carol Danvers who was called Terry. Terry told them that she was a healthy worker and that she only was a doctor for a few customers. Link saw a lot of things from and about Africa and asks "What do you have to do with Africa?" Terry said that half of their profit goes there to build hospitals etc.

Link looks around more and more seeing a lot of books about criminal psychology. 

He knew that some of them were also about the Killer who draws red smileys over the victims. Feeling something odd about Terry he asks "Do you know who Charles Manson is?" Charles Menson was the name of the Serial Killer.

Terry replied with "No I've never heard that name before." That's the moment Link knew that Terry was lying and probably was the killer, he had plenty of books about him in his office so he had to know who he is so he could easily fake the way he kills his victims.

When they were about to leave. Link asks Terry if he could give him some sleeping pills. Terry insisted on giving him the pills only if he came for an interview before that. Link agrees.

In the evening the team went eating together. They thought about the case, Mipha made an argument.

"I think the husband was the killer, 8 out of 10 times it's the husband and here he got cheated on which makes him even more suspicious."

"He didn't kill her." Link replied.

"How do you know?" Sheik asked.

"Okay, so this guy always finishes second in his Golf tournaments. He gets the perfect setup but then chokes the game away being close to the goal. His nerves always show in the end. Do you think someone like that has the nerve to kill 2 people? Don't think so."

"So we shouldn't suspect him because he is worse than his opponents at golf tournaments?" Detective Hyrule asked.

"Yes." Link replied with a monotone voice.

"You're ridiculous."

The same day Link went to Terry to get the pills. 

Terry wanted to know why Link couldn't sleep, so Link made um a fake story. Terry of course knew it was fake and asked why he doesn't want to talk to him.

Link simply replied with "Doctors always want to be the smartest in the room, while it's obviously me."

The doctor Terry frowned but didn't say anything. He gave him the pills. Link then asks him 

"Did Carol write a diary? Our last case was solved because the victim wrote a diary."

"No. I don't think she had one."

"Hm okay then thank you and goodbye."

Link pretended to leave but came back after a short while. He came into the room where the doctor was searching for something everywhere.

Link said, "Oh I'm sorry, I just forgot my phone. But what are you looking for in Carol's office?"

"Oh. Mr. Link, eh I think my curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to find the diary."

"And? Had any success?"

"No, it's nowhere to be found."

"Well let me help. I'm good at finding things."

Link started to pretend like he was looking for something. He knew exactly that Carol didn't have a Diary. But Link made Terry believe she had one and that the case could be solved this way.

Link placed a book in the office hidden that contained nothing except the word "confess".

When Link found the book, Terry and Link went into Terry's office to pick up Link's phone that he "forgot". 

When Link wanted to leave Terry held a gun at him telling Link to give him the diary.

Link gave it to him and the doctor went through it, he saw that the book wasn't a diary and realized he just fell into Link's trap.

"Haha well, how did you come to me being the murder? I'm not saying it was me. I just wonder why you think it was me?"

"When we were in your office earlier I asked if you knew who Charles Menson was you said no despite having multiple books about him."

"That's all?"

"Yeah, I was surprised when I saw it was you, but you were the only logical option. I was surprised because I didn't think you could be this heartless."

"Oh I'm not heartless, my mind is clean. Because of the death of Carol, 3000 Children in Africa currently live. I took a bit of money from this hospital and she wants to ruin these children's life. But now I need to kill you too since you know it all now."

"Did you seriously think that I made this plan and then let you hold a loaded pistol at me?"

Link tapped against his pocket which made a noise that sounded like bullets. Actually, they were just rocks and the pistol was loaded but for a small second, Terry thought his gun was empty giving Link enough time to escape.

Link ran for his life since he was unarmed. That's when he came across Sheik who he called to come and help him. 

"Take out your gun he is coming!" Link said in a rush. 

Sheik was confused but did as told. That's when Terry came and looked defeated. Sheik arrested Terry and the case was solved.

The next day

"I can't believe you" These were detective Hyrule's words when she found out that Link knew all along who the killer was and that he went on that Reckless mission all by himself.

"I'm sorry." Link said while giving her a small frog made out of paper.

"Wow, a paper frog that makes anything all right doesn't it?" She said mockingly.

Link left but turned around to see Zelda's reaction when the Frog suddenly jumped.

She couldn't help but laugh. 

"Link wait." she called him before he could leave.

"I'm sorry. I was being so rude to you. I just got a lot going on right now and the case t..."

Zelda couldn't get out the last part. 

"Detective Hyrule it's okay I understand having a new guy around can be difficult."

"Please just call me Zelda."

"Okay Zelda, how about this. You take me out to eat and i forgive you?"

"Sounds like a plan."

They got up and left together.

That was wayyyyyy too long I am so sorry but I wanted to put all of this in one chapter.

I will try to focus more on Zelink in the next few chapters.
