HCPD Headquarters

The day after reading the letter Link and Zelda went to work and took the letter with them to investigate it, hoping to find some clues to where it got send from and who "Jerry Tyson" is.

"So you got this letter and it was already laying on the couch?" Urbosa asked 

"Yes."

"That means he broke into your house Link."

"I know and yes I already looked and there was nothing else in there and nothing was stolen either."

The team sat around the letter, laying on a table until Sheik spoke up.

"Guys I found something about Jerry Tyson." 

The team now gathered around Sheiks's Laptop to see what he found."

"Alright so Jerry Tyson, he is a 34-year-old man who really wasn't that active, at least not that we know. It says that he never had problems with the law, he even was involved in cases that got worked by the HCPD."

Sheik reed from the file shown on his monitor.

"Wait he worked with us?" Mipha and the rest were surprised.

"Well, that's what it says here."

"We don't actually know if he is the killer, he might just be someone picked out by the actual killer." 

"I agree, we don't know anything about who actually sent the letter yet."

Zelda agrees with Link, trying to hide her pain she now has because they are back to nothing.

The Captain came out of his office, he already knew all of the facts and was investigating himself.

"I got something." 

All attention was now directed to the Captain.

"I talked to some people that know anything about serial killers and asked them if they could give me the files to the killer that draws red smileys onto walls."

"And what did they have?"

"Now, I was able to, of course, get all of the locations of the murderers and surprisingly they all match with the locations we know from Jerry Tyson."

"Okay but that doesn't prove anything. It could just be a coincidence."

"Totally, but it also means that it really could be him."

"And do we know where he is now?"

The team looks back at Sheik

"Well, it says that he's got a house here in Hyrule City."

"What are we waiting for then?" 

Link was eager to get the guy and that was also the case for the rest of the team.

They all get ready and head to their cars. 

"Zelda I need to talk to you, detective Link you wait in the car."

Link nods and Zelda and the Captain went into his office. They sat down and Zelda was more than ready to finally leave and get the guy that killed her family, she was as close as she ever was.

"Can you handle this?" The captain breaks the silence.

"Of course."

"I trust you Zelda, I need you to be 100% focused and handle this like any other case. I know how much this case matters to you that's why I let you work on it."

"Thank you, Captain Fury."

"Now, go out there and stay calm and get whoever did this to you."

Zelda got up and left as fast as possible. When she went to the car she saw Link leaning onto the car. 

When she was close enough Link got in and started driving when Zelda was in too.

"What did you two talk about?"

"He asked me if I can handle the situation."

"Dumb question." 

Zelda was confused until she looked at Link and saw him grin knowing that he was joking and knowing that it was his way of telling her that he knows she can.

"You and the Captain seem familiar with each other. He even called you Zelda that's not usual for anyone besides our team. I want to hear the full story, please."

"It's actually a short story."

"That's a cliché dodge right there, then go ahead."

Zelda had to laugh at Link's statement but then started telling the story.

"Okay so after 3 months after not finding my family's murder, I was so frustrated I didn't know how to act, I screamed at coworkers, I drank too much and was late to work quite often, long story short I was made a traffic officer. Yes, I was giving tickets to people that parked in a spot for too long."

Link burst out laughing trying not to lose control of the car.

"Wha-? Don't laugh at me!"

"I'm sorry but the thought of you walking around saying eXcUSe mE miSs, bUT yOu pArKEd hErE toO lOnG, is hilarious." 

Link was mocking her voice, making her laugh as well.

"Do you want to hear the story now or are you just trying to make fun of me?" She was half laughing half annoyed.

"Okay go ahead. I'm sorry." He was still grinning but not laughing loud anymore.

"But, me being me, I of course was still trying to investigate the murder and so I sneaked into headquarters and looked at the file which was more than illegal. And Captain Fury caught me. He could've just screwed me over and get me fired forever and probably even sued, but instead, he talked to me, he tried to figure out the case with me, and when I told him about something odd in the case he let me investigate, so after 1 month of giving people tickets I finally got back to being a detective, since then he supported me and helped me along with not just this but any case I got."

"That's a nice story actually. So he really saved your life."

"Yeah, he probably did." 

Link realizes the street they are currently driving through.

"We are almost there, you ready?"

"I was born ready!" Zelda exclaimed

"Oh my, you are such a cliché."

They smiled at each other and got out of the car looking at the house in front of them. It wasn't that big it was looking like a regular house.

"Remember, we don't know if the guy living there has anything to do with the murder. So we can't be aggressive or anything."

Zelda nods and knocks on the door.

A man opens up the door, he isn't very tall, not muscular nothing special really, he seems like an ordinary guy. He then speaks up.

"Hello, who are you?"

"Hi, we are from the HCPD we are currently investigating a case and someone said the murderer was seen in this house. Now of course we don't think it's you, but he might have still been here. Would it be okay if we look around?"

"Eh, this is a bit of a shock to me, but sure."

Zelda and Link enter the house and start looking around. Zelda looks at the shelves and some pictures while Link was asking some made-up questions to keep the guy busy. 

Zelda then suddenly stumbled upon a bracelet and a necklace that seemed familiar to her, that's when she realized that it was the bracelet from her sister and the necklace from her mother.

"Are these yours? There is blood on it we need to take them with us in case it's from the suspect!" 

"What? No you can't take them, these belong to my sister and mother, they are dead now but I need these with me."

"I'm sorry Sir but we need them, we will give them back to you as quick as possible." 

Zelda was harsh she was sure that these were the ones from her family, and the fact that he was saying it was from his family was driving her mad. 

Link of course noticed thanked the guy and left with Zelda.

They met up with the rest of the team in front of their car. Sheik Mipha and Urbosa were talking to the neighbors and they didn't see anything odd, they said that he sometimes comes home quite late but that was it, the only other thing is that he was here alone and nobody ever came to visit him.

"Okay, so he is a loner, and Zelda you are sure these once belonged to your family?"

"Yes I even got pictures of it and they were actually stolen from the crime scene and never found until now. I'm sure this is also their blood on it."

"Let's arrest him."

Mipha and Urbosa went to the house waited until the door opened and arrested the guy who was actually called Jerry Tyson.

But was he really who they thought he was?

Link and Zelda were unsure but they knew they can catch the murder no matter who it is.
