All Down To The Moose
Cas wasn't sure what Sam had up his sleeve, but he just hoped it would get him out of there.
"Sam, what are you doing exactly?" He asked quietly.
"You'll see. I've got this in the bag."
"Alright, Sam, the evidence?" Chuck called.
"Well, I'm not sure if it's 'evidence', evidence, but I'm sure it'll be useful. I just need to ask one question. Crowley. When you said that God forbade relationships between humans and angels, is it true that you said it was the God before Chuck?"
"I did." Crowley answered.
"Well, since Chuck is God now, I don't think the past God's rules apply anymore. I believe it's all up to Chuck now."
"Objection! Your honor, despite his absence, I believe it is in our best interest to respect his word!"
"What would you know of respecting God's wishes? All you've ever done is defy heaven, and now you're defending it?" Chuck asked. Crowley had no good argument left in him.
"Sam, I believe this is a victory." Cas whispered. Sam smiled.
"Yeah, I believe it is."
"Well, as Sam said, it's all up to me now. As God, I proclaim that angels and humans can be free to do as they wish. If an angel and a human should love each other, then so be it. Castiel is innocent. Uh, case dismissed!"
As soon as he pounded his gavel, Sam and Cas disappeared. They returned to the bunker, where Gabriel and Dean were. Dean saw Cas and his eyes lit up. He smiled, something he hadn't done for a while.
"Cas?" He breathed. Cas smiled back at him.
"Hello, Dean."
They ran up to each other and kissed. They wrapped their arms around each other. They were so happy together, and they knew nothing could get in the way of that. Cas felt tears stream down his face, and was immediately confused.
"Dean?"
"Yeah, Cas?"
"Why am I crying even though I'm so happy?" Dean looked at him with a tear stained face and smiled.
"They're tears of joy, Cas. Happy crying."
"But I've always been happy when I'm with you. It's never made me cry." His voice became shaky. Dean wiped the tears away with his thumbs. He touched their foreheads together.
"Do you know why the skies are so grey?"
"No. Why?"
"Because all of the blue is in your eyes."
Cas just sobbed even more. He always knew Dean was the man of his dreams. Even though he didn't dream. He was always the happiest when he was with him. Dean infected him with his humanity. And it seemed to be having an effect on him.
"Dean."
"Yeah?"
"I know this shouldn't be possible, but... I'm tired." Dean looked at him.
"You alright?" There was real concern in his voice.
"I feel fine, physically. But I'm just... tired."
He rested his head against Dean's chest. He couldn't even keep his eyes open anymore. But he was an angel, he didn't need sleep. Although, sleep sounded like a good idea. Anything to make him feel less exhausted.
"Cas, is it possible for an angel to sleep?"
Cas yawned. "I don't know. Maybe if they wanted to."
"I believe you're sick, Cas." Gabriel spoke up. They'd forgotten Sam and Gabe were in there.
"Sick? Sick with what?" Dean asked. Gabe smiled.
"Lovesick. If an angel were to fall for a human, they'll start to become more and more human over time. Now that you two are lovers in the nighttime, Cas is still technically an angel, but he's got a bit of a humany wumany side."
"So now he'll need to eat and sleep and stuff?"
"Yep." He popped the "p".
"You hear that Cas? You're kinda human." He looked down at Cas, who had fallen asleep in his arms.
He smiled and gave him a kiss on the head. He lifted him up and carried him in his arms bridal style. He took him to their room and rested him on the bed, curling up next to him.
"You're so perfect. You couldn't be more perfect. Cause you know what? Perfect doesn't always mean flawless."
