Mommy Made Me Beautiful
Mommy made me beautiful
With hair of spun gold,
She hand-picked my features
So I'll be extolled.
Imagine what I'd look like
Without her biomold!
I would be horrendous,
Or so I've been told.
Mommy made me worthy
Of her loving embrace,
With just a few edits,
I'm beauty and grace.
She clothes me in dresses
Made of silk and lace,
I deserve the best
To match my pretty face.
Mommy made me special,
Unlike all of my peers,
They were formed at random,
Or so it appears.
They see my perfection,
And weep bitter tears,
I can't cry unprogrammed,
It's not in my gears.
Mommy made me valuable
With paper green galore,
She said she had some extra,
So me she could adore.
She dropped a-hundred grand
A few months before,
It's just enough money
To protect me from ignore.
Mommy made me novel,
The rarest of the rare,
I am fully human,
But no one can compare.
Fashioned oh-so-carefully,
Pottery like a square,
Designed without blemish,
So people stop and stare.
I am hand-crafted,
The perfect dictate,
If it weren't for my mommy,
Would I even equate?
I don't usually do author's notes on my poems, but I feel like this one needs some context. This is done from the perspective of a designer baby. It's basically a child whose genes have been specially designed by his or her parents to look or be a certain way.
