Melodies fill the air,

Notes of joy and delight,

Pure and clear,

Cheery and bright.

They find solace in it,

Think all is alright,

The piece will continue,

Eternity in sight.

But I never heard it,

Joy: I never knew,

Light was covered

Darkness imbue.

The sound progressed,

Mourning grew,

A tune of sorrow

Notes of blue.

I go along

Put on a show,

Play songs of bliss,

So none would know.

My fingers bleed

As I bow,

I'm forced to play,

Happiness I forgo.

The song changes,

Rather abrupt,

The world panics

As dissonance erupts.

Chords don't match,

Any harmony it disrupts,

They say it's horrifying

Music corrupt.

But to play this piece

I much prefer,

A sweet melody

As dissonance occurs.

I stretch and reach for

Notes difficult to recur,

But with twisting positions

My bone's healing spurs.
