Chapter 44

The Rock Maze

You almost laughed at the sudden appearance of the mischievous fox sin, especially with his new clothes which made him look a bit like an overly-muscular waiter.

Although it was you that originally addressed him, the blue-haired man was paying particular interest to the blonde boy at your side who's hand had tried to rifle under your skirt before you smacked it away. Once you'd met up with Meliodas and Arthur you'd used some of your stored magic to fix yourself a relatively sturdy article of clothing for the dangerous path ahead. Hopefully this one doesn't get torn to smithereens, its too tight fitting to wear a bra under it, you had thought worriedly.

"Cap'n" Ban's voice had broken you out of your own delusions as the sin slowly removed his hands from the depths of his waiter pant pockets.

Oh my... you frowned.. what a tense atmosphere.

Arthur felt it too, "Is.. it just me, or have things gotten really awkward just now". You mouthed a sly "just you" and blew him a kiss, turning his face as bright as his hair, though definitely more of a pink hue than orange.

"CAPTAIN!!" "BANN!!"

The two both squealed loudly like little children and throwing themselves towards each other to administer their reunion tradition of what seemed like a thousand high-fives in under a minute. As the minute ticked to 60 seconds Ban grinned and stuck his fist against Meliodas' face with such force if he were human you would've heard the teeth shattering.

But to the demon it was little more than a flutter of air along his face, Meliodas's smirk was practically sparkling with excitement as he launched back towards Ban. With a deafening crack, Ban's body was thrown threw the rock pillar behind you, your body only feeling the fleeting wind as he flew by.

As the blue-haired man hunched over, falling forward onto his toes as blood dripped down his back and face, he coughed before licking his lip. "Kah.. hak. You really pack a punch!"

The blonde disturber of your dreams scratched his collar to fix it as he assured himself he'd try his best not to get the shirt you repaired for him ruined again. "Sorry about that" he said in his charming, but uniquely high voice, "I got a little too into it".

Ban cracked his shoulder back into its socket, which made you and Arthur both flinch at the sound. Moving with purposefully steps, he reapproached the three of you with a sickly enthusiasm. "In the short time I've been away, I can really feel the difference between us now" he chuckled, smudging blood from his lip onto his sleeve. "In fact... it's like you're back to being the same Cap'n from ten years ago" he said in a sing-song voice.

With a smile on both their blisteringly pretty faces, the two sins dropped heavily onto their stomachs, locking their hands together as their elbows hit the dirt.

"Here we go again..." You giggled, running your index finger down the underside of one of your large wings to smooth out the covert feathers. Standing up onto your bare feet, you wondered over to stand in a relaxed manner beside Arthur, as he was asked to officiate this duel.

"Ready.." Arthur said shakily, he hadn't seen the strength of these two fighting against each other, but he had a pretty good idea of the destruction they could cause even by themselves.

"Go-!" The young King was cut off even from starting as the second the word left his mouth, and his hand left their locking fists, Ban's strong arm slammed Meliodas' down to the ground. The path beneath their bodies ached and shattered in a 2 metre radius like a rock to a mirror.

"That was over pretty quickly" You shook your finger in your ear to clear out a ring as you noticed Oslo in the corner of your vision, making strange, excited barking noises at you.

"Tch" Meliodas clambered to his feet after the Sin of Greed and rocked back his shoulder, "guess I lost".

"You know, a match like this calls for speed and instantaneous muscle power" Ban stated with a know-it-all attitude about him, while he himself flexed his fingers out of such a grip.

"Yes you fought particularly cleverly Ban" Your tongue came out between your lips as you used one foot and both of your hands to try to pry Oslo's huge dog mouth open so you could grab whatever he was hiding inside.

Ban burst out laughing and you looked back to him, a delicate pout on your face as Oslo lifted his head, causing you to leave the ground slightly, refusing to give up forcing his jaws open. "What's so funny?" You hummed.

"You sure seem more relaxed now" Meliodas cut off the other man from responding as he laid his hands onto his hips, not before adjusting the Sacred Treasure sword over his back. As you wrestled with the fairy dog, Meliodas tugged the sleeve of his friend with a more serious look on his face. "Ban. Have you come to the Fighting Festival to have a wish granted?"

"No, I just got dragged into this while helping someone out" Ban said flatly, looking down at his short friend.

Reaching into the slimy, toothy closed mouth of the green-patched beast, you managed to lock hold onto something in the back of his jaws. Tugging as hard as you could, Oslo finally Released the bundle of clothes balled up in his mouth (pick either outfit from top of page).

"Aww fairy clothes" You held up the dripping with slobber clothes and gagged, still trying to pin a smile onto your cheeks as Oslo was wagging his tail excitedly as you examined the boots. "I guess Nicolas asked the pixies to make clothes for me, he's always watching out for me" You smiled softly. Even after 2000 years, he's still looking after me.

"Escanor asked me to bring some sake here to Vaizel"

Meliodas' gaze snapped back to Ban hearing what he'd said, the blonde had only just been distracted watching you flailing your arm about trying to use your Obliteration ability to destroy the saliva without damaging the clothes.

"You mean?! .. You're here with Escanor?"

The fox sin scratched his abs poking out the bottom of his obviously too-small bartender's shirt and nodded. "And... Elaine's with us, too".

You're heart jumped at the beat of demon aura that shot from Meliodas and washed up your legs like an expel of energy. That's right, I forgot to tell Meliodas that Elaine was resurrected, he must be shocked.

"Shocking, isn't it? To be honest, I can barely keep up with everything that's happening" Ban's red eyes narrowed, in a silent battle of will against the ocean of emerald green one's the captain's gaze was boring into him.

In the disarray of their conversation, you had hastily gotten changed into the freshly dried clothes. Now you stood near between a fight you were just waiting to happen, even the Captain's tightly constricted fist had began to rise from its place at his side.

"Aren't you going to ask me anything?" Ban said, you could hear the irritation in his voice, it caused you to remember the frightful scene whereby Ban had used the same tone to claim why he needed to kill Meliodas in the Battle of Liones.

Meliodas suddenly became cheerful and used his fist to lightly bump his old friend's hard chest, "You got to see someone important to you again, eh? That's great!"

With that, the sin of wrath, with but a flicker of his forest eyes to your face as he slid past the fox and over to you. Holding his chin with his hand, he bent over and looked up under your short outfit, trying many angles to try to get a peak at your soft skin.

You squealed in realisation and shoved his face away. Just as Meliodas was about to say something witty, Arthur called him over, having spotted something worth the Captain's attention. With the blonde winking at you before he walked over, you became quickly aware that Ban was standing next to you.

His body warmth felt like a nice change against your right shoulder as he 'tasked', "Its not great. He's supposed to be mad at me.. I tried to kill him".

Tucking a loose strand of your (H/c) hair behind your ear, you pricked your eyes up to meet the sullen scarlet orbs of the taller man.

"Melio's just understanding of your situation... after all.. he'd probably do the same if it was me he was trying to bring back". You seemed a little disheartened as you spoke of him like he was a shell that you'd carved the life out of to take for yourself.

Ban noticed the small slouch in your shoulders and leaned over to burry his face in the warmth between your shoulder and neck, wrapping his arms around your stomach. "If it was you instead of Elaine, I would've tried harder to kill the Captain.. if it would bring you back".

"Well you don't have to worry Banzy, gonna take more than being crushed by a giant to take me off this world" You purred and ruffled his spiky, blue hair. "So you understand?"

"Yes.." With a kiss on your neck that made you shiver, he let go and placed his hands against his sides, relaxing his spine as it straightened. "Cap'n" he called over, "I'm sorry".

Arthur was standing next to Meliodas and he contently watched him smile before throwing his arm over the young king's shoulders. Meliodas chuckled, "let's go, buddy. We've still got ones we need to protect".

Ban nodded and you clapped your hands together in excitement, "Right".

"Elizabeth, she's on the other side of this wall" Your hand fell flat against the rock and the angelic energy shared between you flowed through the cracks in the rocks.

"You're right (Y/n)!" Meliodas took his sword out from over his shoulder and spun his sword once around. "Ban, you go and look for Elaine. We'll get the princess".

"Right. I'll do that after we've collected the princess" Before Meliodas could object Ban smirked with a toothy grin, "don't worry about it" he hummed happily. "Elaine's being protected by a Fairy King, and a Holy Knight I trust".

"Good to hear that Ban!" You pulled up your dark tights before reaching your arms over your head in a stretch and leaning to one side, "now, the challenge is this wall".

"Yeah how are we going to break through?" Meliodas sliced his sword once across the rock maze wall. In seconds, it began to regenerate and before long looked brand new.

"But Meliodas, that's out of the question!" Arthur banged the handle of his sword repetitively against the wall as he talked, "the regenerative power and speed that these magic walls posses are nothing to sniff at!"

"I know that already!" Ban yelled back to the young king as the orange-haired boy leaned back slightly under the force of Ban's voice. The strange cat creature perched on Arthur's head remained on its post even though its fur was stuck in a swept-back position.

"Well, we'll just bust a hole so big it wont be able to recover" Meliodas held his blade out in front of him and a fearsome aura enveloped his form, your hands began to glow as you held them in two fists.

"I feel like I should cut a seperate hole and race the two of you" After so long seemingly avoiding using any real strength of your powers, you were itching to break something as big as this seemingly endless rock structure.

"You wanna make that bet?" Meliodas challenged, Ban cracking his knuckles before he drew his nunchucks out of his back pocket.

"Loser has to catch dinner!" You howled with joy and as they agreed you immediately threw your arm out in front of an area of the wall. You're entire insides began to shake with anticipation and you could feel the excitement and flood of pure energy seeping through your veins.

"Obliteration!"
