The moment we walked though the door Ike started lecturing us about how worried he was and why didn't we call. But then we walked into the kitchen. Adam was leaning against the counter. "Please tell me you got lectured by Ike."
"Yes we did so you don't have too."

"To bad. I stayed up waiting for you Anna. Just like I did every time you went on a mission." I read him. He was thinking to things-
1: They were making out in my car.
2: They where kidnapped again.

"We're fine. We ate supper and walked in a park." He scoffed.
"I may not be able to read minds but I know something more happened."
"Yeah. Something did. But it didn't involve kissing. Aren't you supposed to be in bed?"

"Yeah you are Adam. To bed now." Ike appeared behind us.
"Anna you should get to bed to. You have to meet Sandy at 4:39 tomorrow." I grinned. It was just like Sandy to choose a ungodly hour of the morning to train. "Ok."

I kissed Nathan's cheek. My insides did flips at our closeness. "Good night." He smiled a bit.
"Good night Anna."
"All right you two. Get to bed. And I'm mean your own beds." We went to bed and I may have dreamed of Nathan.

The next morning I was out the door and was running to the warehouse. It felt good to be free running though Lincolns sorry forest. Ike had woken up and force fed me breakfast.

Here's for the conversation went,
"I'm going to be late."
"Your going to be hungry."
"You've met Sandy before. You know she hates tardiness."
"I used to date Sandy. I know that she'd rather you be fed then hungry all day long. Eat up."

So I did. It wasn't as bad as some of the other stuff he had cooked. I grinned at the memory as I ran though the forest.

Nathan: You could of waited for me you know.

Nathan's voice pulled me from the forest. I was bored so I would talk to him on the way.

Me: I had to be on time. And I have to be focused
Nathan: Tell me where the warehouse is at. I'll meet you there.
Me: You have school.
Nathan: I'll skip. I'm going to fail anyway.
Me: I'm not marrying a dropout. Get your rear end to school.
Nathan: Would you marry me if didn't fail?
Me: Maybe. Unless Edward asks.
Nathan: Your kidding right?
Me: You may never know.

After forever he answered.

Nathan: I'll buy you a promise ring.
Me: What is a promise ring?
Nathan: It's a ring you get for the person you know your going to marry. But everyone says that your to young to get married. So you get a promise ring. Most people wear it on a necklace. I'm going to get you one.
Me: It's seems foolish to spend money on that sort of thing. Why not save up for a car? Or college, a real engagement ring, a nice house, or even being prepared for a kid?
Nathan: You don't spend a lot of time thinking that one day your daughter could wear your promise ring?
Me: I would much rather keep you safe.
Nathan: It's 4 am. I'm not going to spend time arguing.
Me: Get some sleep ok?
Nathan: Okay. I love you.
Me: I love you too.
Nathan: I love you more.
Me: That's not only cheesy but that's impossible. I'm at the warehouse now. I'll talk to you later.
Nathan: ok

I ran up to the warehouse. I glanced at my watch. 4:48. Just on time. Sandy pulled up in her car. She shook my hand because we both hate hugs. "Glad to see your alive. And on time."
"Glad your alive too. So what's the plan?"
"Simple work out. Next week I get the feeling you'll be ready for missions again."

I grinned. "My sort of simple work out? Or yours?"
"You do you. What ever floats your boat. I'm going to run a couple miles on the track. You can do what ever until 11:30. Then I want you to get a shower and some food. Your clothes are in the bathroom. Put your running clothes in the washer."

I changed into a black sports bra and dark purple Nike pants. Then I stretched and put on my old boxing gloves. I walked over to my favorite bag and beat it up till 6:00.

Sandy had stopped running and came over to give me pointers on my knife throwing. After the the 29th time I hit the small moving target Sandy said I could take a break. Then we would work in the gun department.

I wasn't great at any gun. But Sandy said that we would work on it. I knew that ment 'you really stink at this'. So when 11:30 rolled around she told me to meet her here at 10:00pm. I showered washing the sweat, dirt and blood from my tired self. Then I raided the warehouse fridge for food.

Sandy took me back to Ike's house. I invited Sandy in because as soon as Ike saw the bruises and cuts that I got when I made a wrong move in hand to hand combat with Sandy he would flip. He wouldn't do that if Sandy was standing right there.

"No thanks. Tell Ike I said hi. Meet back there tomorrow night." I waved but and walked into the house.
"Annabeth Black is that you?" That's was Adam.
"Yeah. Why aren't you in school?" He gave me a bone crushing hug. I tried not to push him away. But I had to because he was hurting me.

"Ike and Nathan where the only ones who knew where you were at. Why didn't you tell me you where leaving?"
"I went to the warehouse."
"Oh yeah the warehouse. How could I be such a idiot? THERE'S LIKE 200 WAREHOUSES IN LINCOLN!"

"Chill. I said the Odd Leaders wanted me to go on missions again. I was training. I'm home now." His gaze softened.
"Can you at least tell me where it's at? And the next time your going?" " Adam I wish I could but I can't. That's classified. If it makes you feel better next time I go I'll bring my trainer over for supper."

"I was worried. Did you call Nathan or something? Cause he said that he talked to you at 4:00am." I'm not sure why I wanted the in your head talking to remain a secret.
"Odds can talk to their soul mates. Like in their heads." He looked unsure.
"Yeah sure would Ike have the same answer?"
"He hasn't met his soul mate. So most likely not."

He rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Whatever. We need to get you registered for school. Come on let's go."
