You lay on your bed next to a half asleep L, if you followed the handcuffs onto the other bed you found Light, fast asleep. You hated not being able to sleep with L alone.

You couldn't sleep, you just stared at the roof, until you noticed something on the balcony. You decided to investigate. You got up and quietly walked onto the balcony. There was no one there. Suddenly you heard a familiar voice.

"It's nearly time"

You jumped and turned to see the same shinigami for last time, Rem.

You jumped back and began to panic.

"I wasn't hallucinating?" You said in shock.

"You weren't but it's almost time"

"For... me to save L?" You questioned.

"Yes, in exactly three weeks, Misa will come to you and explain everything the second Kira instructed me to tell her. She will help you" Rem said.

"How can I explain this to L? He won't believe me will he?" You said.

"You'll have to figure it out"

Wow, that's helpful.

"Shinigami... why me?"

"Because, like I said last time, you are deeply in love with L and the second Kira wants to help that love stay alive"

"B-but why? Why the second Kira?"

"They've been watching your for a while now"

You froze. The second Kira has been watching you... all signs are pointing to Misa but.. what if the shinigami was right and she wasn't Kira?

"Listen carefully, I am under strict orders, I can't back out even if I wanted to. I, will be the one that kills L, BUT there's a way you can cheat it, you just have to wait for Misa to explain"

You were so confused.

"But if you're going to kill him... the why are you helping me!?" You questioned.

"It's all because of the first Kira giving me orders and the second Kira wanting to help you" rem said.

"B-but-"

"I must go, but the time is near (y/n). Keep those eyes of yours sharp"

"Wait!"

But it was too late. Rem had flown off leaving you on the balcony, the wind blowing your hair over your face as you stood there in shock.

You slid down the wall and sat curled up in a ball on the floor, letting everything sink in.

Did rem know you saw wings? Does she know something about you that you don't?

Three weeks, you were counting on Misa to help.

"Sweetheart?"

You looked up to see L sitting up in bed looking at you as you sat on the balcony.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

You walked back inside and sat down next to him on your bed, burying your face in your knees.

"Nothing, its stupid" you said.

He put an arm around you, bringing a worried tome into his voice.

"Honey, you can tell me, whatever it is it won't be stupid" he said.

"You'll think I'm crazy..."

"You're not crazy sweetheart, just tell me"

"I saw a shinigami... this is the second time I've seen it... it says that I have to save you from Kira. And that in three weeks Misa will come to me to help. Apparently she was recruited by the second Kira. The first Kira wants you dead, the second wants me to save you... I'm so confused, I'm scared I won't be able to save you..." you explained.

It was silent for a moment before you heard L speak.

"So it wasn't a hallucination from when you were sick?" L asked.

"No..."

"Wait I'm a little confused... why doesn't the second Kira want me dead?"

"I don't know! Ugh my brain hurts..." you said.

"Does this have to do with the wings maybe?"

"I don't know... see I told you it was stupid"

"It's not, it's just confusing"

There was another short silence.

"What if I don't save you?" You said.

"Honey, you're smart, you're strong and you have a level head space. You will save me, I know you will. And if anything goes wrong, I will always love you, don't you worry about a thing, ok?" L said.

You took a deep breath.

"Ok"

"Now you should get some sleep, I'll be right here"

You lay down and pulled the blankets back over you, you turned and wrapped your arms around L, keeping him close to you.

"I love you..." you said in a small voice.

You felt L wrap his arms around you and place a kiss on your forehead.

"I love you too"
