You walked hand in hand with the red-faced L down the path toward the park he told you about. This date was going smoothly so far, well... you hadn't done anything much yet, just walk to the park. You smiled to yourself as you clutched onto L's hand that was partially coved by his long sleeve.

You turned a corner and saw a big park with swings and a pond, surrounded by cherry blossom trees. Your face lit up at the sight.

"It's so pretty!" You exclaimed.

You saw L's face light up at the sight of your smile. You pulled him along as you went straight for the swings, wanting to let your inner child out.

You jumped o to the swings and started to swing back and fourth. You felt L's hands on your back as he pushed you. You flung your legs up and kicked a branch on the Sakura trees, making all the pink petals fall down. You looked behind you to see L, covered in pink petals.

"You'll pay for that!"

He grabbed the swing, making it stop and pulled you off it. He stood in the swing and shook the branches, covering you in cherry blossoms. You were about the say something when a petal landed in your mouth, shutting you up as you spit it out.

"The anime gods have silenced you" he joked, sending you into hysterics.

When you calmed down, he grabbed your hand and dragged you over to a small tree, pulling out a pocket knife.

"I know you'll ask to carve something, so just go ahead" he said handing you the knife.

You happily grabbed it and started to cut away at the bark, making a heart shape. Inside you carved what you've been waiting to carve for a long time.

You turned to see L with his phone out.

"Are you filming this?" You giggled.

"Yep" he giggled.

You made a heart with your hands and pointed it at the camera, as you did you spotted a bakery on the street behind him.

"Ooo! Let's get a cake! Then we can come back here and eat!" You said, grabbing L's arm and dragging him toward the cake shop.

As soon as you entered the shop, you saw L's face light up. Him and his cakes...

"Go nuts" you said.

You watched ash he scrambled over to the cakes and inspected them carefully.

"Far out I love that dufous..."

You wandered over and checked out the cakes yourself, choosing a chocolate mud cake. L, being L, picked the biggest slice of strawberry shortcake available. You thanked the cashier and went back to the park, sitting under a tree and eating your cake.

"Give me a bit of yours and I'll give you a bit of mine" L said.

Your broke a piece off and held it out for him, he bit it your if your hands and happily chewed the cake away.

"That's really good!" He said.

He broke a bit off his cake and gave it to you.

"Holy crap! That's good! We have to go here more often" you said.

"We should!"

L finished his cake in a matter of seconds, while you savoured the taste and took like three minutes. You took out your phone to check the time, 12:30. You nudged L's shoulder and got his attention.

"Selfie!"

You held your phone out and took a photo, instantly knowing you'd want this framed.

"Where to now?" You asked.

"Well... actually, before we go anywhere I was hoping you answer a question?" L said.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Well... I- damn it I'll just say it. Can you... be my girlfriend?" He said shyly, his face turning pink.

You smiled like you never had before and threw your arms around him.

"YES!"

He wrapped his arms around you and smiled.

"Thank god"

"I would have said yes no matter what! You have no idea how long I've waited for this!" You said.

"Y-you waited?" He said, pulling back from the hug.

"I waited from the moment I met you..."

"If I knew you'd been waiting that long... I would have asked you sooner..."

You smiled at him and gave his hand a tight squeeze.

"So now I guess I can say I love you without it being weird" he giggled.

"I love you!" You said.

"I love you too (y/n)"

You watched the smile grow on his face, this was the happiest you'd ever seen him. Ever.

"Hey" you said.

"Yeah?"

You grabbed his shirt and pulled him toward you, smashing your lips onto his. You felt his tense up on impact, but he slowly got used to it and melted into the kiss. You pulled back and put your forehead against his.
