"I'm going to be a detective!" He smiled.

"That's great Lawliet! You deserve it!" You said to your best friend.

"I'm going to America for the next case I'm working on, how cool is that!"

The smile on his face showed so much joy, but your heart ripped to pieces. He's leaving? No. he can't!

"T-That's amazing!" You said forcing a smile and holding back tears.

It was the hug that broke you. He wrapped his arms around you and hugged you tightly.

"I'll miss you, I'll definitely keep in touch" he said.

You hugged him back like it was his last day alive.

"Please do! I'll miss you so much" you said, tears streaming down your face.

"I'm leaving tomorrow, in the meantime... how about we hang out for a while- are you crying?"

"I'm just so happy for you!" You lied.

"Thank you (y/n)!"

Ok, that was a lie. You were really crying because, well... you loved him. And now your won't be able to tell him. You could tell him now, but your both only 14 and if word got out that you were both together, the orphanage would have a fit. You were hoping to confess on the day you could both move out. Guess that's not happening.

He took your heart, captured you right from the start. Maybe it was his wings, call it a talent or just being crazy, but you saw wings on good people, in fact all the people here had wings... all except for B. But we don't talk about that.

You both hung out for the rest of the day, you fought tears the whole time. When he said his goodbyes that night, it took all your strength to keep the tears in, you felt sick to your stomach as you watched the car drive off.

The night he left, you cried yourself to sleep, you never got to tell him how you felt...
