Chapter 17
Advice from the Heart
Mollie was met with both widened and shocked eyes as she poured her clouded mind into the air around them. As she spoke, her voice echoed against the walls and magnified through the still, but tense atmosphere. She had hoped telling her close friends about her troubled mind would help her feel lighter. Unfortunately, as the words tumbled and spewed from her mouth, more questioned formed in her head and took up the empty spaces of her already crowded brain.
The woman thought she spilled her mind too quickly. The two angels- who had offered their time in hopes of clearing her mind- sat frozen on the couch opposite from her. From the looks of things, they were trying to process the newfound information that had caused a jumble in their minds. The gears in their heads were turning slowly with rough and unoiled clinks, causing their delayed reactions. Mollie found it strange, however- both Hoseok and Jimin were angels, they must have seen a large array of phenomenon and weird occurrences during their long lives, it looked like this was new to them.
Mollie was honestly surprised that Hoseok was an angel too, but in the end, she accepted it. The man was an extremely bright person, capable of cheering anyone up with a gentle smile. However, what shocked her the most was when she learned that the two of them and SeokJin are friends that go way back. They’ve known each other since they were in diapers, however long ago that was. They didn’t come up to the top floor to see him, because the two men didn’t want to scare Mollie. Both were afraid of their relationship changing after learning of their huge secret that had been following them around since their conception. However, they were thankful that Mollie accepted them with open arms.
With a light sigh, Mollie sipped the rest of her now cold tea; hummed mentally at the calming effects of the drink, it helped her keep her head level, despite the troubling thoughts. She supposed Jimin was in the right frame of mind when preparing this sweet and bitter tea. It was offered to her shortly after Jimin revealed his angel status to her, and it immediately soothed her frazzled nerves. Mollie understood why Jimin always served this kind of tea during meetings, it was meant to keep his employees calm. She set the teacup down onto the table with a plink before leaning back into the couch.
Mollie was willing to give them time to firmly grasp a hold on what has been confessed. She couldn’t quite understand it herself after all. She hoped that Jimin and Hoseok had some kind of answer as to why she still feels that man around her. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t feel anything evil or dangerous about his shadow of a presence. His aura felt pure and kind spirited- surely a heart of gold resided deep inside him. What she felt from him was that he felt lonely and that he didn’t have what he really needed to complete himself. All he wanted was to give his love to Mollie because his soul felt empty. Every time she thought she was alone, he felt the man’s arms wrap around her from behind, and pull her into a loving and warm embrace. The man’s touch left permanent fingerprints on her skin, marking who she belonged to.
As the days passed, she knew that that dream happened for a reason. It was just up to her to decipher that reason and the meaning of it all.
“Mollie, why do you think that this happened?” Jimin asked, running his hand through his hair.
Her hand migrated up to the back of her neck, the intention of rubbing it out of bewilderment fuelling her actions. Just as her palm connected with her skin, she felt a quick shock shoot up her arm. The spark exploded into her head and her eyes widened upon the revelation.
“SeokJin…” she gasped. “When he woke up, I felt something when I looked into his eyes, it was like I had seen them before.”
Hoseok stood up faster than both Jimin and Mollie could blink, his face lighting up in conclusion. Unfortunately, he hit his shin against the coffee table and fell onto the floor. He held his shin while rolling back and forth on the carpet. Jimin pinched the bridge of his nose, watching his older friend act like a child.
“What Hoseok was going to say was,” he huffed. “Perhaps you have seen them before, you just don’t remember.”
Mollie tilted her head in confusion, eyebrows furrowing together. Jimin only smiled softly at her, before taking her hand in his. He pulled her up to stand on her feet.
“I think it’s time you open up to SeokJin,” Jimin cooed softly. “I’m sure you know by now that he will not leave you over something like this. He won’t do that.”
The older man palmed the top of Mollie’s head, offering a comforting hand. She was hesitant upon confessing her troubled thoughts to him. However, the only way to lift this burden on her shoulders was to open up to him. Mollie couldn’t argue that she didn’t trust him, she did have faith him and knew he wouldn’t abandon her.
Mollie trusted him with her heart and soul.
