Serena's POV
"Serena? Serena?" Dawn whispers taking me out of my trance. "Teacher is calling.." She whispers again and I look at the Teacher. "Serena please walk Calem around. Today is his true first day of school and he doesn't know his way around." The teacher asks and I nod standing up with a small smile. "Calem go with her."

I look at Dawn and she shrugs. I walk out of the classroom followed by this boy named Calem. I mentally slap myself because I forgot my notebook in the class. Lucky for me, I have an extra piece of paper and a pencil. "So your name is Serena?" Calem asks and I nod slowly and keep walking forward. "You know it's a pretty name." He adds putting a small blush on my face.

"My names.." He starts before I shush him with my finger. Calem. I know. "You already know me? From where?" He asks confused. The teacher said it like twice idiot. "Alright alright you're right. Are you able to talk?" He questions coming up next to me. No sir I'm an untalkable girl.

"Well what happened? I've never met someone without a voice." He keeps questioning and I roll my eyes and turn to him. Please stop questioning me. I don't want to keep answering. "Oh of course. I'm sorry." He apologizes. I smile softly and turn back around swiftly. The school is big so it takes me a little while to walk Calem around.

When we get back to the first period classroom some girl comes out at the same time I try walking to the door and we run into each other and we both fall onto the floor. I look over and I see Rachael. She waves at me before helping me up. "Hey Serena." Hello. Are you new? I don't think I've seen you here Rachael.

"Thanks for the walk around Serena." Calem says with a wink before walking into the classroom. "Now that he's gone, no I'm not new. I've just been sitting in the front of the class in every class and you've been in the back with Dawn." Rachael says with a small laugh. Oh that makes sense. After that the bell rings and we move away from the door.

"Serena cmon lets go!" Dawn says grabbing my wrist and pulling me along quickly. I wave back to Rachael and she waves smiling. I wish I could tell her to slow down! Oh my god she is my best friend but seriously! We run down the hallway and almost run into a couple people. When we make it to class I trip and fall Bringing Dawn down with me.

"Serena are you okay?" Dawn asks and I nod my head. "Hey are you guys alright?" I hear someone ask and I immediately recognize it as the one and only Ash. Me and Dawn both nod our head. "Up you come." He says reaching both his hands out. Dawn looked at me and she grabbed one of his hands and I grabbed his other. Somehow he pulled us both up.

"Thanks Ash!" Dawn exclaims hugging him. I had already started to head to my desk. Ash didn't have this class so he must've passed by when me and Dawn fell over. I was caught up in my thoughts again as all the students took their seats when the bell rings.

"Sereeenaaaa." I hear Dawn call but I don't respond. I think she knows I'm looking at the ground for a good reason. Just because we met like two weeks ago doesn't mean she doesn't know what my thinking is. We are like best friends already. I don't know what it is about Ash. What is it about him that I can't always think straight.

"Miss Yvonne lift your head right now!" The teacher shouted waking me up from my trance. God it must've been the tire class period. "You've been sitting there the whole day and you need to leave! School ended and your bus will leave soon! Now go!" I look up at the clock seeing the time as 3:18. My eyes widen realizing my bus would leave in 2 minutes. I guess I was here the entire day.

I quickly grab my bag and run out if the class stumbling a couple times. I keep running hoping I don't miss the bus. I run outside and run on my bus. "Almost missed it Yvonne." The bus driver says closing the door. I find Dawn and sit next to her when the bus starts to move.

"So Serena can I come over to your house?" Dawn asks and I instantly nod. I live at Ash's house though. I don't have anywhere else. "Ah who cares. I think it would be fun!" Dawn exclaims happily. "Nu uh, I am not having another girl in my house."

"Stop complaining ketchup. I'm coming over whether you like it or not." Dawn says sticking her tongue out. "Did you just call me ketchup?" Ash questions causing Dawn to giggle uncontrollably and also probably look like I'm giggling. Ash sits back in his seat for the rest of the ride.

When we get off the bus Ash walks in front of me and Dawn. "This is going to be so great!" Dawn exclaims making me jump. "Sorry I'm just so excited!" Yeah I get that. I write showing her. Dawn giggles lightly. "Of course you do. So what do you want to do first when we get there?" I usually help Delia with cleaning. It's the least I could do.

"Just one day off?" Dawn asks tilting her head slightly. I guess just one day.. I write and show her reluctantly. Soon enough we get back to Ash's house. "Ma we're home!" Ash shouts and Delia comes out of of the kitchen. "Oh you brought Dawn?" Delia asks getting a nod from Ash.

"Serena do you like baking?" Delia asks. Yeah I do. It's really really fun. I respond to her with a smile. "Good. I'm going to want you to do me a small favor" Delia says grabbing her keys. "Mom you didn't did you?" Ash questions and Delia just smiles. "It's a secret"

"Ash watch the house. Dawn, Serena, come on." Delia says waving her hand towards the front door which we just came in the house from. We follow Delia outside, except Ash, and she unlocks her car. Me and Dawn hop in and Delia starts her car and starts driving down the road. We take plenty of turns to the calm downtown of Vaniville,

We stop in front of a building and she parks the car. She gets out and me and Dawn hop out as well. She gets another key out of her pocket and opens the door into the small building. There were chairs and tables scattered all over with boxes. People were walking around putting it all where a large white board says it's supposed to go.

"Welcome to my new café!" Delia exclaims happily. "Good job gentlemen. I appreciate your help! I'm also surprised you got those booths in so quick." Delia says walking to the left. Where she walks there is a glass display case. A counter is behind it with a single cash register and some more glass containers. Behind her is a machine which I'm guessing would get filled with different kinds of coffee or things to drink.

"So about the favor, Serena would you mind working here for me?" Delia asks making me surprised. I look over to Dawn who is looking at me with a smile. Of course! I would love to! I respond smiling and jumping in excitement. "And I hear you are looking for something to do in your spare time Dawn. Is that correct?" She asks Dawn and Dawn nods her head. "How would you like to work here as well?"

"Oh my god yes please!" Dawn exclaims jumping excitedly. "That's what I like to hear! Now why don't you girls help me decorate this place and I'll show you your outfits for when this place is up and running." "What are you calling this place?" Dawn asks and Delia looks at us. "Well I'll call this place.."

Ash's POV
I wonder what Mom could have done that I couldn't come with. Eh it's not really my business. If she doesn't want to bring me along then I'm fine with it. I'm on the phone with Gary and browsing the internet at the same time on my computer. "So I said to her that.." Gary, Gary slow down please." I say loudly so he stops.

"And do what? Not tell you about this girl?" He asks and I shake my head even though I know he can't see me do it. "I don't want to keep hearing these made up stories." I tell him with a chuckle "Excuse me! This one is an actual true story!" Gary exclaims hurting my ears.

As I'm browsing the internet as well, I see a news story from 10 years ago that catches me eye. "Hang on Gary, I'll um.. call you back." I say hanging up my phone quickly before he can respond. I click the link and it brings me to the Vaniville local news site. It was 10 years old so it didn't look the greatest.

The headline says, "5 year old girl missing. Gone from her home only two days after turning 5 years old." Under the headline there was a picture of what I'm guessing is the missing girl. What immediately catches my eyes are the girls eyes. A beautiful sapphire. "Those eyes are so similar to.. thats Serena! It has to be! Now what were you doing on the side of the road that day two weeks ago.." I ask myself even if I know the article won't have the answer, as I read further into the news article.
