The two biked down the sidewalk, attempting to be back earlier than the expected time. Austin was sweating as nerves racked him meanwhile Lyla was calm. Taking in the sights of the beautiful day.

She had attempted to make conversation with him, but all she got in reply was one word answers and pants. Giggling to herself, she decided to let the poor boy be as her house came into view.

"What time is it?" Austin asked, relief showing in his brown eyes.

"You know, this is actually a talent of mine: being able to go on my phone while steering at the same time." The green eyed girl beamed, showing off her skill as her phone laid in her pocket.

"And it's one-fifteen."

"Oh damn, can we make it?!"

"Yes!" She laughed, pulling one leg over as she rode sideways, "Don't be such a worry-wart."

Austin brushed off her teasing insult as they walked up to her house, "Well, this was fun. I hope it'll be like this again?"

Lyla snorted, "So, you wanna worry about bringing me home on time? But yeah, I would love to do this again."

The boy bit his lip, peering around nervously, "Uh, can I-can I kiss you?" He rushed the last part out as his heart pounded against his chest.

Lyla looked stunned for a moment before a smile broke out on her lips, "How nice of you to ask...yes."

As Austin leaned in, Lyla beginning to close her eyes as she waited, they both froze. On the other side of the window was her mom and dad, both staring at them. Her father cleared his throat as her mother whacked him in the shoulder.

The boy straightened up and leaned in again, this time kissing her cheek. Lyla's hand drifted up to the spot where he kissed her as he gave a sheepish grin.

"Have a good day Lyla! Bye!" Austin exclaimed, walking towards his house as the door opened revealing her parents.

"At least he brought you home on time." Daniel muttered.

"You said one-thirty, it's only one-twenty." His daughter pointed out as she walked inside.

"Daniel, let her live a little. It was her first date!" Helen groaned as she rubbed her temple.

"My little girl is growing up, I don't want her to grow up! She won't need me anymore!"

The girl pressed her lips to stifle her laughter as she made her way up into her room. Checking her phone for any notifications. One number had called her while she was out on her date with Austin, but she didn't recognize it.

She contacted the number and held the phone up to her ear, waiting for the person to pick up.

"Hello?"

Lyla perked up, "Hi! Uh, this number called me about thirty minutes ago, did you need something?"

"Is this Lyla Bennet?" A female voice asked.

"This is she."

"Hello Lyla, I would like to congratulate you on the job! You will come in Friday for training and start Monday, is that okay?"

The girl's heart raced, "Yes! Thank you for letting me know." She attempted to sound calm as she hung up. Throwing her arms toward the ceiling, she smiled, "I got the job!"
