~~~ EXO - Hurt ~~~
It' s been a week since that thing happened and she still felt like she is in the dream. Yes, dream... how funny that sounded to her, when she very sporadically had any and now she was living in one.
It was insane how life of one can change so quickly and go the direction, which she would have never guessed it would go.
The last time she's been to this house, was few years ago. She had no idea, she will have an excuse to be here again. The lamest excuse made them both being forced to work together. She shook her head, forgetting her heavy heart, jumping in her chest and her stomach knotting nervously in her tummy.
She smoothened her frizzy hair. It was raining all day and she was not on the best terms with humidity of living in seaside town. She shook her closed umbrella, as she was standing under the roof, that protected the front door of the house.
She lifted her hand, before she lost all her courage and knocked on the wooden door. She was about to start hyperventilating, but the door was answered quick enough to not being given time to start really freaking out.
She was not breathing instead, when the tall figure came to her field of vision. He was wearing casual black sweatpants and hooded grey jumper, his hands tucked in the front pockets of it.
Junmyeon as always looked absolutely flawless, making her feel insignificantly small, under his inspecting gaze. His eyes travelled over her body, that causing a shiver roll down her back. Her fingers enveloped around the umbrella handle in order to keep her hands steady.
"I hope you didn't get too wet. I'd come pick you up, but my car ...," he met her eyes for a second and diverted them almost instantly.
"I know, it's being serviced," she nodded her head, as well as him, not being able to meet his eyes again. It was still too weird between them.
"Come in," he stepped out of the way to give her a space to walk around him, into the hallway. She stopped walking, waiting for him to close the door behind them. He walked past her, brushing his hand over hers. The electricity sparked up in the air, she realised she gasped for the air, as she watched his hand bowl into the fist and his jaw clench. He didn't stop and walked into the sitting room. She stumbled behind him, thinking she should have asked him to meet on neutral place. This was playing with her mind.
And judging from his tensed posture, when he collapsed on the sofa, he was regretting the choice of their meeting point as well as her.
They were both walking on very thin ice, but they didn't know about it yet.
"I'm sorry we have to do this... together," she murmured, when she sat down on the armchair on the opposite of him. He finally peeled his eyes from the ground, looking at her straight. His irises turned into darkest brown.
"We both made the excuse, naturally we should take care of it together," He replied, frowning his forehead, there was more he wanted to say. Lately she always had a feeling he has more on his mind, then he is telling. Except he didn't leave it be this time. He leaned over, resting his elbows on his knees.
"Do you really dislike the fact, you have to spend more time with me than you are usually forced to?" tone of his voice dropped down, causing her stomach to go along with it.
"I...," she was not sure how to respond to that.
She was confused since the moment, they shared in the cinema. She never forgot about it, even after all the things occurred. Just the thought of him caressing her face, was too much to handle, to even think straight and figure this out the logical way.
She watched his lips twist into displeased sneer, diverting his eyes from her. He suddenly got up, his face turning into expressionless mask, not sparing her a look.
"I will bring a laptop from upstairs, just wait here," he mumbled and left the room. She felt like an idiot. He was mad at her and she couldn't think of the reason why. Is he unhappy he must go through this with her? He could be doing all sort of stuff, more fun than spending time with her right now.
She groaned in frustration, remembering all that happened, leading the two of them here.
All because of her damned brother.
"Well? Isn't it nice to spend some time together?" Baekhyun's voice cut through the awkward silence around. He didn't care or see how crazy was this moment. All of them sitting in the coffee shop, after the movie ended and Baekhyun the superglue, making them all have some chatty time over the cup of whatever they went for in the coffee shop. The fact no one was talking, didn't bother this always smiley boy, at all.
The two blondie girls were long gone, after one of them took off, mumbling something about that she is not used to being ignored and her sister followed. That left the five of them now sitting here. Bora was next to her, her long legs crossed under the table, while she was kicking one up and down in nervous manner. Sehun was glaring over the table at her best friend, while she was ignoring him persistently.
Jihye was on her place, stiff as a piece of rock.
She couldn't stop thinking about what has just happened. Did she only imagine it all? She quickly glanced at Jun being on the opposite of the table by Sehun's side. His lips were apart as he stared into the space, his beautiful eyes fixed on some non-existent fluff floating in the air. He was as shook as she was.
But all that happened in that cinema, was his doing. She was not the type of girl to initiate this kind of matter to happen.
She must have been staring at him for eternity, because he eventually met her gaze, leaving her being hypnotized by him, like she was just few minutes ago, with no chance to break it off. The tension sparked in the air between them, her fingers trailed over the skin on her cheek, where he touched her. She was struggling to breath. His eyes had the power to posses hers and never let go, no matter there were people around them.
It didn't matter, the moment they had in the showroom, was brushed off by him, pinching her cheek cheekily and her running away right after to hide on the toilets, until the movie was finished.
It was like they never left the cinema and they were still there caught up in the moment.
"Alright, shall we stop being this awkward?" Sehun whined, saving the two of them.
"The only person awkward is you, so why don't you do some self-reflecting," Bora advised her brother sweetly. Sehun gave her dry look, then he pretended he fell sleeping, letting out loud snore.
"Ahh, sorry were you saying, Boring Bora? You know I tend to doze of whenever you open your mouth," he smirked at her, seeing he sparked up the right reaction, when Bora besides her was fuming, ready to jump over the table and kill Jihye's brother. Instead she kicked her foot wrathfully, aiming for his clavicle. Judging from the tears that burst out of Sehun's eyes, as he groaned in pain, Bora found the right spot.
"Alright, alright don't start again, you two. We should definitely sign you up for some kind of hate management course, in sake of your lives," Baekhyun threw his body in the middle of the long-lived war.
"I second that," Jihye decided to butt in, being gifted by look of disbelief from Bora.
"Me too," Jun agreed. Sehun mumbled something about disloyal friend, but stayed quiet, knowing they are not messing around.
"Okay, okay, let's not fight any further today. Let's talk about my birthday, about the secret surprise," Sehun smiled happily, looking at her. Oh no.... oh, hell no..., she totally forgot about...
"Baekhyun, it was supposed to be secret party," Junmyeon frowned at Baek, who looked shook.
"I know, I didn't tell him anything, when you asked me for Jihye's number," Baek mumbled truthfully. Jun did what again? Jihye was lost, seeing Junmyeon groan.
"It was Jihye, who told me about it. I saw her coming back home from spending whole day with Jun the other day, so she had to tell me, to explain it," Sehun put the things right, this time making her groan. Oh no...
And that was the reason, she was now in Junmyeon's house and why they must do this together.
They both made the exact same excuse to get out of difficult situation. She lied to Sehun, when he surprised her, when coming back home after her sleeping session in Jun's car and Junmyeon lied, when getting her number from Baekhyun.
She was still surprised, learning about this fact. He got her number, going through all the trouble that led them both to be here now here.
She smiled thinking about them both having the same alibi for their actions. It was ridiculously funny no matter, how tense the atmosphere between them two was.
Bora was mad at her, because she didn't tell her about spending day with Jun like this, everyone was surprised by this information. Bora was also not pleased with the fact, there will be surprise party for that idiot born from hell, as she titled Sehun.
She did not have time to think any further about this situation, because she heard Jun coming back downstairs and the blood that was sent into her head, thanks to rapidly beating heart, turned her face into red burning mess.
She wanted to ask him so many questions the moment he turned up, coming back inside of the room, with his laptop in hands. She wanted to demand the answers to, why was he mad at her like this, why did he want her phone number all of a sudden, why did the look he was giving since not long ago, changed so much.
No, the main thing on her mind since his attention turned her way, was why did he stop ignoring her and then actually looked at her in the first place.
"Shall we start planning?" he asked rhetorical question, while she gaped at him, her mind in constant swirl of unspoken thoughts.
"Y...yes," she would be really happy, if she could stop stutter in his presence. He was still standing there with the laptop, his free hand was ruffling his now messy hair, as he was considering where to sit. His eyes ended up on her. If he sat on his original place, it would not make sense.
"We can sit down on the carpet to work on the coffee table," he finally suggested. Her eyebrows shot up, realising he must know about this one preference of hers. She couldn't stop the smile spreading over her lips, but she quickly quit, because Junmyeon's eyes widened, the colour of his irises melting along with it.
She left her space on the armchair, sliding down on the carpet, she didn't see him, squeezing his eye lids and shaking his head, before he joined her on the floor, placing the laptop on the coffee table.
"I brought Sehun's phone, we can make the list of people, we can invite, with help of his contacts," she took out her brother's phone from her pocket, putting it next to the laptop. She tried to ignore the scent Junmyeon brought with him and which was now floating around her, making her mind all hazy. She loved his cologne, whatever it was, it sure was compelling.
She didn't even realise he was gawking at her with his mouth opened. She almost reached out to him, to put his chin back in its original place.
"Did you take Sehun's phone?" he asked with disbelief in his voice.
"Yes," she nodded her head, taking Sehun's iPhone from the table and giving it to him.
"Does he know?" he added up and she understood his concern.
"Of course not, he would kill me, if he did," she smiled at him and he quickly diverted his eyes from her, clearing his throat. She didn't know where she got the courage to grin at him the way she just did, but the sudden feeling of being familiar with the guy sitting on the floor next to her, somewhat let her be relaxed around him. Although it was short lived.
That was of course followed by her awareness coming back to its place. She bit her tongue and looked away from him, like he did second ago.
"I didn't know you are this forward," she heard him mumble under his breath, while opening his laptop. She didn't how to feel about his statement. Was that a compliment? "Why am I surprised, you are Sehun's sister, of course you would inherit at least tiny bit of his sassiness," he added up, still not looking at her, while his lips twitched like he was tempted to grin.
"That's where you are wrong. He got that from me," she blurted out, before she could stop herself. He peeled his sight from the screen of his laptop, his eyes once again grew wider, amused sparks dancing in them, while he didn't bother holding his smile back and showed her his teeth.
That view took her breath away.
Only he had this power over here. Now that his smile belonged to her for a little while, she was blown away by it.
"Jihye, you get more charming every time I get to spend some time with you," this is what he said next, making her forget even her own name. The blush not wasting time, filled up her face.
He must have not realised that he said that out loud, because he cleared up his throat and left her gaping at him in shock, while he typed something in his laptop.
The ice was getting thinner and thinner.
"We need to get past Sehun's security password to have the access to his contacts...," Jun murmured, as she took the phone in her hands and typed in the number, opening the phone. He was watching her while she did the magic.
"I don't even know the...," he gawked at the phone in her hands. It was too funny, she had to bite her lower lip to stop herself from laughing out loud.
"It' s my date and year of birth," she explained. The reason he didn't know that, was because he didn't care for that information. They linked their eyes for enthralling moment.
"He is not very original with his passwords," she shrugged her shoulders, blinking quickly, passing the phone to him. She was so sure, the minute she leaves his house later on, she will pass out with exhaustion, thanks to the fact how tensed she was right now.
They finally proceed with planning the big day for Sehun. They made a list of people to invite also people, that must not be notified about this at any costs. The list had mostly girls on it, girls Sehun messed around with and they somehow ended up hating his guts.
They decided to have the party held in Jun's house, in one-week time. They also thought of the theme for the party and other important things for the party to be successful.
In the end they agreed on, pretending that they are not planning anything in front of Sehun, who made them do this in the first place.
She was now working on Junmyeon's laptop, sending out the emails with invitations to those chosen ones. They had a discussion about, whether to include Bora into the list and risk the possibility of one of them being found dead by the end of the celebrations.
She smiled, when she sent Bora message, if she wants to come or not, awaiting her friend's stormy response to that in few seconds. She glanced from the laptop screen, on which she focused the whole time, directing her eyes on man next to her.
She tried to ignore him, when she volunteered to have this boring part of the job done and she was successful up until now. Her sight almost sneakily didn't listen to her brain and landed on his figure. She let out sight, when she found him fast asleep.
His head was resting on the provisory cushion he made from his arm on the coffee table, right beside the laptop. His lips were slightly pouted, his lower one more than the other. Long lashes were shinning on his full cheeks. She held her breath almost unconsciously.
She leaned closer to him, taking advantage of this moment, where she could study his face, without worrying about being caught. Yet her heart beat picked up on the pace, shortening her breath. He could wake up any second, but she still didn't find enough strength in her to peel her gaze from his handsome features.
She sees him every day and admires his persona, but up until the minute he turned his attention her way, she couldn't get to know him better and see him this close either.
Everything has changed that night, she just couldn't think of the reason why. The organ in her chest was leaping, driving her crazy, but it made her aware of her feelings, those she was holding inside of her, from the time in the past, when they were still just a kids and Junmyeon was the best friend of her brother, the nice boy, who was almost living in their house and who tugged at her pigtails, whenever he saw her. She was probably six or so, when she started crushing on him.
She smiled, remembering that so clearly, like I was just yesterday.
She placed her head on the table the same way he did, now having it in the same level and angle. She was being ridiculous, but the situation called for it. She had to keep her hands to herself, because she wanted to do more, then just gawk at him like a creep.
She's never saw more beautiful person. She loved everything about him. She had a weak spot for the mole above his lip. It would take her hours to discover and count all of them...
Oh god, what is she thinking about right now...
She mentally slapped herself, ready to stop with this, when he suddenly opened his eyes, meeting hers, like he knew she will be there.
They both held their breath. Both of them being surprised by their proximity.
It was nearly the same feeling of suspension in her stomach, like in the cinema and about every time she is with him. She should have lifted her head up and shake this moment off, she was pro in getting away from him, but almost as he was reading her mind he made a move. His free hand raised up, covering her cheek gently, with no hesitation whatsoever.
She forgot about her intentions to retreat and just stayed the way she was, with the warmness spreading from all the nerves that were now under an attack of Junmyeon's touch.
His thumb traces over her cheekbone and she was unable to stop the shiver from taking over her body. His lips opened when her reaction to him, was caught in action.
"Don't keep running away from me, Jihye," his deep drowsy voice made her want to listen to anything he wants her to do and if that was staying like this forever, she was more than happy to follow his wishes. His fingers didn't stop distracting her, when they slid her hair behind the ear, or when he caressed the line of her jaw, while his eyes were boring into hers, with crushing power.
"I'm scared what you might do to me, if I stop running away, Junmyeon," how did she manage to form this sentence was a mystery to her. His hand stopped exploring her face, completely disappearing. He was actually thinking bout her words as he closed his eyes for a second.
"Jihye, I'm scared what you might do to me as well," he whispered when looked at her again. He was taking away everything from her, with this simple statement. How could be Kim Junmyeon afraid of anything?
"Then why? What has changed, that you stopped ignoring my existence?" she couldn't hold it inside any longer.
He stayed quiet.
"If you don't know the answer to that, we should go back to what we were before. You be the untouchable best friend of my brother and I will be the small invisible sister of your best friend. Let's not complicate it," she finally lifted her head up. She knew he won't tell her what moved his heart and forced his eyes to be focused on her. She only knew she can't let him make this all thing difficult. Her heart was already on fire thanks to him and her life was already big fail, she didn't want him to mess her up even more than she already was.
"If that's what you want," he muttered, his voice cold as ice.
She was regretting what she said the moment he responded this way, his eyes avoiding hers.
Her mind kept repeating... it' s for the best, it's for the best...
So.... haha
First time the person I mainly write this for, read this.... well she said she hates Junnie 😁
To be quite specific, because of the last sentence he spouted... tell me, how ya'll feel? I just wonder, cuz she really was pissed hah, that he spoiled the whole thing... cuz I think it was Jihye who made it this way🤔😁
Idk much, but the moment you hurt man's ego, it's the start of the apocalypse... but no worries, there is stuff coming up, that will make you want to scream and I can't wait to hear you all 😱😂
I really loved those discussions you had under the last chapter, here or on EA (I post the story on two apps hah, yea I'm trying to make it harder for myself, but cuz I have readers here and there, its hard to make all those people go to just one place... all those things I do for you to make you happy, you love me right?)
Anyways, I do hope you enjoyed this chapter!! I love how the character are developing, all of them, which doesn't happen often when I write...there is always something that bothers me... and there was before I started to write on full blast.....💪
funny story 🤓🙈 Before I started to post the chapter, I sent few to Irina... and I tend to write like notes of what I'm planning to write and small details under the whole text in the WORD editor... well, me being stupid af... I sent it all to Irina and then I realised, I let her know about my evil plans(I was screaming so hard and she didn't even tell me!!! She is as evil as me 😈😂)so I changed so much...there is still some stuff I left the way they are, but I changed and spiced up the plot twist 😎
Imma not make the same mistake again, that's for sure 🙄
Anywhooooo, that's the end of my rant and I will see you next time!!!
I do appreciate every feedback you give me and also, those votes... if you don't mind hah 🙏🤗😂
love ya
