I knocked on the door and waited,

"Who is it?" I heard Kayla said and I covered the peephole, I heard some shuffling then the door opened, and I smiled at my best friend. Her jaw dropped then she let out a shriek

"Oh my God! what are you doing here?!" she asked pulling me into a hug

"Wendi had the baby."

"What I thought she was only seven months?"

"She was but apparently she was still doing crank, so she od'd on the kitchen floor and Abel was born ten weeks early."

"Oh my God, is he going to be ok?"

"It's touch and go for now he has to have surgery on his heart and his stomach."

"Oh, poor baby, so Jax called you?"

"Yeah I was always planning to come see Abel when he was born, I just didn't expect this."

"Who would? How did they take it?"

"The hell if I know, Gemma spoke but I don't know if she was pissed or not. Clay is upset but I really couldn't careless about him."

"Good, don't let them get in your head."

"I won't besides I'm only staying until Tuesday; Tony gets back the next day."

"How is Mr. Stark?"

"He's good driving me crazy trying to keep up with him but he gave me the sweetest birthday gift."

"Aww I wish you two would get your shit together and be together."

"He's my boss."

"Who you're crazy about."

"No," I said

"I'm sure if you say that enough times in the mirror someone might actually believe you."

"Anyways how's David?"

"He's great, he's preparing to take for Unser who's retiring soon."

"Aw that's great, now you two would make some cute babies."

"Ugh I know but I wish he would ask me to marry him."

"Have you been dropping hints?"

"Like crazy, I found the ring!"

"You did what?"

"It's in his office, Gigi it's so beautiful and it's going to be ever more beautiful on my finger."

"And how did you happen to come across this ring in his office?"

"Details aren't important.' She said and I laughed

"I'm sure he's going to ask you soon; he might be waiting for the right moment. Isn't your anniversary next month? Maybe he's waiting for that."

"Oh my god your right! I got to call my mom."

"You told your mom!?"

"Listen I was excited, and you were out of the country."

"Oh my god your mom can't hold water."

"She's getting better." She argued and I rolled my eyes

"Not to be a downer but have you seen Happy?" She asked

"No but everyone has let me know, he's on his way in. Can you believe Rachel was at the hospital? Her and Gemma are all buddy-buddy apparently."

"Yeah about that..."

"What?"

"She's living in your house shacked up with Happy."

"It's not my house, and good for them they deserve each other, besides." I showed her the area where my tattoo used to be

"You actually did it?"

"It was an awful reminder of my past, and signal of being someone's property I needed it to be gone to move forward."

"I'm happy for you, I never thought I'd see you smile the bright again."

"I didn't do alone if I didn't have you, I'd probably be dead right now." I said she hugged me

"Ok enough sad stuff it's still your birthday, I'm going to cook, and we're going to eat and drink wine and watch chick flicks."

I got to St. Thomas early the next morning so I could sit with Abel before he went into surgery. I bought him a couple of my favorite books from when I was little, so I sat and read to him, and I talked to him until they came and took him to surgery. After they took him, I rushed over to Lumpy's to grab a coffee and something to eat, when I got back, I texted Jax updating him, all he responded with was thanks. I knew it was going to take some time to get him here.

I was texting Happy about our upcoming work schedule we were going on a press tour, about the Jericho missile

"Is that Gianna Teller?" I looked up to see Luann walking over with Gemma and Rachel

"Hi." I said standing up

"Girl you better hug me." She said pulling me into a hug and squeezing me tight

"We were so worried, I thought Otto was going to break out to find you."

"Hmm I'm good see." I said holding my hands up

"I see that ass looks great." She teased and I forced a smile,

"When did you get here?" Gemma asked me

"I've been here since 7, they took him in about 8 so we should be hearing something soon." I said and she nodded

"How have you been girl?" Luann ask sitting next to me

"Good,"

"Where are you at now?" She asked and I rolled my eyes and I looked at my mother and Rachel listening intently

"New York."

"Aw I love that city; you know Otto took me there once when there was still a charter there." She started rambling but then Tara came out, just in time

"How is he?" I asked standing up

"He's good, he pulled through the surgery very well."

"Thank God." Gemma said

"So, Dr. Namid wants to wait a few hours and see how he is doing but if he's vitals stay stable, he wants to go back in and do his heart today."

"And if they don't?" I asked

"Then we'll monitor him and try again in a few days."

"Thank you, Tara." I said

"Of course." She said then walked away but of course Gemma followed her

"Jesus." I said followed them, just as I caught up to them, I saw my mom lift the back of Tara's scrub top showing her crow tattoo. My eyes went wide I couldn't believe she kept it after their nasty break up

"Hmm you still have the tat and you just happen to come in and save his son."

"Give her a break she's just doing her job."

"Please why would she come back to this incestuous, backwoods town? There our hundreds of hospitals in Northern California why come back here?"

"Your paranoia is showing." I said

"I came back, to pack up my dad's stuff and sell his house, that is all and as for the tattoo I keep it there as a reminder."

"Of what?!"

"Moms stop! She just helped saved Abel's life that's all that matters right now. Thank you, Tara." I said then I pushed my mom away from her
