Fall In Love With The Enemy (Edited)
"Who is ready for a party!?"
Izzy called out excitedly, immediately getting a respond from her blond brother who seemed as much eager.
"Hell yea!"
Clary and Alec however, didn't seem to be much impressed though. Clary kept quiet as she gave a bored nod, which wasn't really something she would usually do, especially when it came to parties. No, she was not a party animal but she wouldn't reject an offer to go dance and drink with her friends.
Alec on the other hand, was a whole different case. ".... came again?"
Izzy rolled her eyes at her brother but kept her excitement nevertheless. "Come on guys! The past months all we have been doing is jump from a abandon buildings to another and kill Demon!"
And as the mood didn't really change she quickly added after a small pause,
"A party is exactly what we need guys! Yes, it is a mission... But a party nevertheless!"
"A mission is a mission, don't speak carelessly." Alec scold but Izzy completely ignored him, making the older nephiln to scoff.
"Totally agree. Finally! something fun!"Jace half yelled, he seriously had become slightly bored with all this nonstop routine of intensity.
And he knew Clary needed it too, and her reaction to the mission is a proof. He can't remember what was the last time they had gone on a date... It really started to get on him.
Clary however didnt badge. So Jace had to do what a sensible and loving boyfriend like himself must do....
A tickle attack is always something that will make people laugh, and clary hadn't laughed for days.
Yet, they soon started getting all lovely dovey...
Alec cleared his throat to drop the hint they aren't alone and should focus which worked... After the third - forth time.
Although Alec didn't hold anything against the couple he did want to get over this mission information meeting and lay again to his bed. He also wanted to get over this mission as quickly as possible too as he did not, by any means, want to be stuck at a place full of drunk and sweaty people.
What a disaster...
"Now that most of us are excited..."
Izzy began, shooting a glare at her big brother, who just rolled his eyes at her, before continuing. "We all shall go get prepared for the night... And it's better if you choose something that would cover your runes." Now, despite her confidence, a small hesitation could be noticed.
And of course, the first to notice was no other than the person who practically raised her, Alec." And to have a good question....what kind of party are we forced to go?"
Now, that raised eyebrow at Alec's face really did made Izzy nervous... That was, as she called, "The questioning eyebrow that wanted truthful and short answers."
Jace shrugged, "What's so weird about going under cover? We do it all the time.... What I mean is that we should be excited. It doesn't matter if we have a target or not!"
Alec sigh deeply as he took the file in his hands, opening it he was surprised to see what it was all about, and not in a good way. "You gotta be kidding me..."
Jace and Clary exchanged a confused look of what could it be to make the grumpy cat say one of his usual phrases.
"A downwordle party are you serious?!" Alec couldn't hold it in but let out a frustrated breath.
"why no?"
Izzy argued.
"Because there will be thousands of downworlders which I am pretty sure if not all most hold a pretty bad impression of us."
"So?"
Izzy still kept going with her statement.
"We will literally be stuck in a house full of powerful people that may to surely kill us dead in spot if they discover us."
"You don't know that."
Izzy said with an eye roll.
"Actually, I do."
Alec argued back.
"No you don't."
"And you do?!"
"Guys!"
Clary decided to butt in and break off the beginning of a fight that would last until they need to depart. She knew that Alec in base didn't really had a problem with downworlders, in opposite, Alec was in no way judgy or close minded. He believed in equality and justice. So, you could say he rather had a problem with people in general.
Both Alec and Izzy looked at Clary.
Izzy immediately stopped and looked elsewhere while Alec glared at clary as rolled his eyes.
The rather awkward silence didn't last long as Alec decided to go back in track of the main reason they are all here. "..... Who is the target?"
"To begin with," Izzy decided to be the one to explain the situation as she was the only one that had read the file, for now at least as she knew her brother would examine the entire file and every single information it holded later on when he will be alone." We are going to the party of the high worlock of Brooklyn... Magnus Bane."
"Magnus Bane?!"
Clary seemed to be surprised and shocked but it was a usual reaction, Magnus Bane is a big name among the shadow world after all.
Alec however thought something was odd about her expression, she seemed nervous but not in they way she should be...
"The target however is in no way Magnus Bane..." Izzy kept on going, "Ragnor Fell is though."
Jave frown, the high worlock of England?
"There is a rumor going on that he actually knows the location of the portal of hell." Izzy said, her voice having reached the stern tone, meaning thing were getting serious, and they were far more someone can imagine.
The three other nephilns went dead quiet in shock, that was big... The portal of hell is something that shadow hunters have been trying to find for centuries. That was the reason why earth has been filled with so many demons for God's know how long... That thing was the reason behind so many deaths...
"Now, how Ragnor knows where the portal is, is unknown." Izzy said with a sigh.
"So.... If we find the portal and close it... Bye demons?" Clary asked still in a state of shock. It wasn't something that could be taken in so easy after all.
"If the information is actually true."
Alex corrected her with a sigh himself.
Alec didn't really know how to feel about the whole thing... Yes, he does know how important is to close that portal and kill the rest of the bloodthirsty monsters, he isn't going against that.... But then what? His entire raise is most likely to disappear by time... After all, the job a shadow hunter has been doing with pride and with all acceptance is to kill those beasts... So when there are no demons to kill.... Then what is he suppose to do?
He felt rather empty but no one seems to notice at his delight.
"Okey fine, let's say that we find where it is, then how will we seal it?"
Clary asked with a frown accompanying her features.
Alec shake his head at that, "Our mission is to find where it is, not to seal it."
"But..."
"There is no buts... We will do as we are told." Alec said and Clary nodded in defeat
As the meeting was over Jace and Clary were the ones to walk out first, both holding hands and whispering giggling to one another.
The sight had Alec cringe.
But left right after nevertheless, way too happy to know that he will be under his covers in no time...
"............."
He kept on going....
"............."
And kept going..... Before he had enough and stopped just as when he opened the door to his room.
"Okey..." he started with a deep breath before turning back, "Why are you following me?"
Izzy stared at him... As if he asked the most obvious thing in the world.
".....Alec.... My dear brother that I care so much about..... I don't trust you when it comes to clothes."
Well.... He couldn't deny it. He isn't a liar. But he didn't bother to put a fight either, too drained and exhausted to do something so troublesome when he knows how it will end.
" Do whatever you want, just be quick." Was all he ended up saying as he walked in, completely ignoring the cheer of success his sister let out as she clapped her hands in victory.
For now, he decided to let his sister do whatever he wants as long as she won't disturb his sleep...
Because he knew,
The mission would drain him to the fullest.
