Welcome to the first challenge - the classic Writing Challenge, where we are adding variety of prompts for you to get inspired with. Pick a prompt, craft the plotline, and challenge yourself to write your best story. The prompts lean towards Paranormal genre, however, there is no such compulsion to write in the same genre as the prompt's. The writers are free to interpret these prompts in any way they want and write their entries in any genre available. Mature themes are more than welcome as well, as long as the story abide by general Wattpad Guidelines.

P R O M P T S

1. While digging in her backyard, an old lady discovers an iron chest. She opens it and finds a pile of old photographs of her ancestors. All of them are missing their left eye.

2. A woman puts a lipstick on in the bathroom when she hears a voice saying to her: "Can't you see?"
No one lives around.

3. A young married couple decides to renovate an abandoned psychiatric hospital and turn it into a hotel. Everything is going well until their first guest arrives.

4. Three sisters are reunited for the reading of their grandmother's will. She has left them a diamond necklace, but they have to fight psychologically and physically for it.

5. A little girl's sister lives with a monster in the closet. She exits the closet on her sister's birthday.

6. A boy hears screaming from his parents' bedroom. He jumps and hides under his bed. Suddenly, everything becomes quiet. A man wearing army boots enters his room. He drags the boy from under the bed and says: "We've been searching for you for 200 years."

7. A group of friends play truth or dare. Suddenly, all the lights go out, and in those ten seconds of darkness, one of the group is killed.

8. A small-town cop becomes obsessed with a cold case from 1978. Three girls went missing after school, and nobody has seen them since. Then, one day, in 2008, three girls with the same names as those in 1978 went missing. The case is reopened.

9. An anthropologist studies rituals involving human sacrifice. She slowly begins to accept them as necessary.

10. A girl wakes up in her dorm and sees that everybody sleepwalks in the same direction. She acts as if she has the same condition and follows them to an underground black pool where everybody jumps.

11. A bride returns to the same bridge for 50 years, waiting for her husband-to-be to get out of the water.

12. A girl starts digging tiny holes in her backyard. When her mother asks her what she is doing, the girl answers: "Mr. Phantom told me to bury my dolls tonight. Tomorrow night I am going to bury our dog. And then, you, mother."

13. You are the Ruler of a dystopian society. You kill every time your control is threatened.

14. A patient with a multiple-personality disorder tells you that you are one of six characters.

15. The sacred river in a remote Asian village fills up with blood. The last time that happened, all the children in the village died.

16. A man turns himself to the police, although he hasn't broken the law. He begs them to put him in prison because he had a premonition that he would become a serial killer.

17. People start jumping off buildings and bridges after hearing a mysterious song.

18. You never believed in ghosts. You're in denial, even after you become one yourself.

19. You discover how to skin travel, projecting your mind and senses into various people, revealing their true selves and hidden motives.

20. A cursed painting drives anyone who looks at it insane, causing them to reenact its gruesome scenes.

🍁 Starting: 10th October ;; Ending: 15th November.
🍁 Word Limit: Minimum 2500 words ;; Maximum 5000 words.
🍁 Participants are required to publish the standalone new book on their profile containing the entry. In case they wish to participate in other activities of the Fall Fiesta, they can continue publishing the other entries in same book as well.
🍁 There is no such restriction for the entry to be of Paranormal genre only.
🍁 The entries will be submitted through Google Form - link will be made available on 1st of November. Participants are encouraged to share their stories in the comment section and support fellow ones.
🍁 It's important for the writers to pick one of the prompts and incorporate its theme to the story. However, the writer is free to use the selected prompt as a minor prop only, we appreciate creativity and imagination.
