Chapter 16 ~ Dash

Zoya and I ran after Nadia with everything in us. Zoya was like right behind Nadia just an arm distance and I was behind Zoya catching my breath, damn it what's with me and always running down the hallways?

We descended down the stairs there were people loitering and studying at corners, just chatting doing their thing which they halted and watched us as we passed by them. Nadia that evil girl what have I ever done to her!

Ehaan came dashing from the other corridor right from the front where Nadia was running towards but Nadia saw it coming and halted stumbling went out from the second exit.

I cursed following her, Zoya yelled between her breaths,"damnit, she's going outside!" She stormed out too.

I raced out and found Zoya in the campus frantically looking around, confused I joined her bending clasping my knees, "where's she?"

"I don't know Serra but we can't let her out what if she called media or just went to tv station?" Zoya speaking out my worry.

I heaved staring ahead at the campus oh god this will spoil everything. I tore my hair in frustration.

Why did I have to drop my mobile?

Why did it have to be Nadia to found it?

My hands curled in fists having this uncontrollable urge to hit something.

My eyes roam around wildly for that short hair thief then landed on Faisal standing outside near Dhruv's extravagant car with...Nadia .

He and Nadia were chatting.??

I beckoned Zoya who was still searching around with hands raised shielding her eyes from sunlight.

"Zoya look, she's there!"

Zoya's head flipped she followed the direction, "Who's with her? isn't that Faisal? Is she telling him? and what's with that attention seeking car did he steal it or what?"

"Come let's get to them quietly" I said.

If she told Faisal then I don't know what will I do..

Dhruv and Faisal both were out, Dhruv was leaning against the car it appeared as if he was sleeping while standing literally doing nothing and still acquired a small group of his own fangirls squealing and ogling him.

I rolled my eyes all three of them just love attention. Why was he even standing outside posing like some model for a photoshoot??

"What is happening? What's the commotion about?" Zoya came forward behind me to get the view
" oh my god Serra! Isn't it Dhruv from D3!"Zoya almost shrieked in my ear.

I stepped away rubbing it, eyeing her strangely, "you know him? D3?"

"Of course I know him and how can you like not know D3!? They make vlogs they were real famous at some point, you see they are three guys belonging to some real loaded families. Dazzle the first one, with the camera he records and does commentary while his friends perform stunts and pull pranks on people. Dash does all road kinda stunts and then there's Dark pranks and dupes his classmates, mostly everyone's favorite is Dark the way he fools people it's just crazy and scary. We don't know who they actually are or their real names except for Dhruv, they wore this cool black mask neck bandana kinda, the entire time they are on camera though fortunately one time Dhruv's mask slipped off while they were live and we all went berserk over his greek god looks I mean we knew they must be some hot and good looking boys behind those masks which is the main reason of their popularity, so like I was saying Dhruv's mask fell off when he and Dark were fighting and within the night he became sensational teen star, I still can't believe you don't know about D3! were you living under a rock? Serra! anyway there was this news he got some modelling offers which he declined it very arrogantly and gorgeously-"

"I don't think she's talking about me is she?" Ehaan asked interrupting.

I shook my head sadly, then pointed at Dhruv's or his seemingly increasing fangirls group way.

"But, let's not talk too much it's not like I am some obsessed fan or whatever, anyway I want to know what is he doing here? And where's Dark? our all time favourite!They went MIA since two years don't know what happened anyhow it's not like I care that much, come Serra we should get Dhruv's autograph on our arms!"

I stared bemused at my friend what had happened to her?  "Zoya focus! There is Nadia with my phone let's get it back first, okay?"

"Oh shit, sorry Ehaan always distracts me!"

"Me?" Ehaan asked confused.

"Yes, you what are you doing standing here like that! Go after her before she runs away again" Zoya told looking where Nadia still stood talking to Faisal

"Okay, guys come on!" I called them after me, walking quietly towards them.

We reached them to our earshot,

Nadia was speaking in her irritating voice to Faisal, "you don't remember me? I am Nadia your classmate!"

Faisal didn't even look up from his mobile screen, he seemed to be quite invested in the game he was playing on it,"listen Vadiyah like I said for the past fifteen minutes I don't know you and even if I knew you you got a real forgetful face so I am not even sorry for not remembering you, now if you can let the wind blow?"

Nadia didn't stop bothering,
"But why were you not attending the classes-

"geez, I am going on a silent mode from now"

Zoya tried to catch Nadia off guard from behind by grabbing her arm but that girl whirled around instantly like a squirrel and skittered back shoving Faisal's mobile out of his hands. She got some thing for mobiles I guess.

Faisal sighed looking up at sky, helplessly.

So dramatic.

"Catch her! Faisal" I shouted, snap outta it be of use! as she passed by him followed by Ehaan with the taser. She was approx an arm length from Ehaan, he streched his hand with the taser switching it on as Nadia turned changing her track Ehaan tried to copy the movement to cover the distance which he shouldn't have done considering his athletics skills fall way below than mine. He stumbled hitting with Faisal who was still trying to understand what was happening?

His eyes widened and grew still.

Ehaan stepped back nervously, "sorry bro.. .I didn't mean to..."

Faisal's jaw clenched glaring at Ehaan his fist lifted and then he fell on the ground, suddenly unconscious.

"Oh my god! Ehaan you tased him!" I shouted eyeing Faisal nervously.

"Collateral damage" Zoya muttered pushing past me after Nadia and snatching the taser from the shocked Ehaan who was controlling his joy as his taser worked

I followed Zoya feeling bad for Faisal lying still on the ground. Just don't die yet, my revenge on you is pending. I prayed.

Nadia was running to Dhruv group of fans who couldn't seem to stay quiet gushing and clicking his photos while Dhruv continued 'not' acknowledging them by resting his head against the car with eyes fixed ahead at nothing. Can't he just get inside his car and stop the commotion? Why stand there and pretend there wasn't a big group of girls swooning over him.

I gritted my teeth seeing Nadia not giving up, she was getting on my nerves now. She shoved the people in crowd and got mixed among them.

Ugh.

I turned to Zoya who was taking photos of Dhruv forgetting about the matter.

"Zoya!" I alerted yelling.

Both her and Dhruv's heads flipped to me at my voice, following his movement the crowd turned to me except for Nadia.

"There she is! Catch her!" I yelled.

Dhruv frowned, Zoya smacked her forehead sheepishly then jostled after Nadia who slipped out YET AGAIN AAHHH!!! This girl could score a gold medal in Olympic why was she wasting her talent here!?
She was this time passing by right in front of Dhruv.

"Dhruv!" I called but I knew it would be too late before he could actually act upon it.

Dhruv turned and grabbed Nadia's arm when she ran almost out of his reach he flipped her back by twisting her arm then asked over her head, "what?"

The crowd hooted  I don't know how  did they know about my inner reaction. Anyway, the crowd was just begging to see him in action than just standing there like a statue.

"My mobile!" I told shaking myself from almost getting starstruck.

He took it out effortlessly and irritatedly from Nadia's grip who was pathetically trying to hide and hold it from him. She cried, trying to get out of his hold he left her instantly and she fell down on her knees like a sack of potato.

Dhruv glanced at me then at my mobile while rest of his expression remained like he was so bored but his eyes shone with mischief. Oh no, why do I think I was in trouble!?

I walked towards him with a small tentative smile approaching carefully towards the predator who was going to attack anytime. I was politely going to ask him for my mobile. When he walked in opposite way taking a big step over Nadia who was I don't know what she was doing on the ground wailing and clutching her wrist to her chest maybe to get some sympathy she stared at me viciously and yelled, "she is Sel- at that moment Zoya came forth and  tased her"this is for calling my hun tubelight!"

I was relieved momentarily from shock which washed away on spotting Dhruv inspecting my phone with furrowed eyebrows that only accentuated his sharp face, his followers tailed behind him. I freaked out, it was worse than Nadia having my phone!

I covered the distance anxiously, he glanced at me in surprise when I leaped on him he tripped back taken aback by the force I hit into him and we both fell on the ground at least I was saved by landing on him, confused what would have hurt more falling on his hard body or on the ground?

Over us was a commotion basically,the girls jealous going all mad since I had nerve to do what they were thinking about. Too bad I don't have such intentions.

Desperate times call for desperate measures!

I reached down on his body with my hand to get my mobile out of his which he shockingly gave away with no fight, I shifted on him and shook my head my hair was all over my face. I looked at him he was staring at me transfixed making me awkward I tried to get up but found his arm held me back. My eyes widened, I shot a nervous glance at him. It was so hard to pull my eyes off when you see someone that striking and just stunning that you can't help yourself but gawk at them. I shook my head again, trying to bring myself back to earth in the process my hair waved and fell into his eye.

He winced rubbing it.

"Oh sorry sorry" I said patting on it?

"Get off" he groaned with shut eyes.

"Oh yeah..." I blushed forgot that I was still on him literally straddling him. Now that I got the mobile I didn't find the need for it. Sheesh what was I thinking?

My face heated with embarrassment.

I tried to get up but his arm was still around my waist.

"Get off " this time he sounded pissed off.

I opened my mouth to remind him but he spoke again,"you are not as light as you look Ms. Newton"

I gaped at him and hit his chest. "You're holding me, doofus "

He looked at his arm with one eye where it was around my waist then dropped it immediately like it burned him, "you should have told me before" he scolded me matching my red face.

I got up glaring at him. How it was always my fault?

He stood up swiftly,  messed his wavy hair then looked around at the crowd cursing, "You and your trouble attracting ability always amazed me.." he walked off rolling his eyes as the people parted giving him the way.

I continued glaring at his back tightening my hold on my mobile. Why did he always make me sound like some silly stupid girl??

What the heck all this people were doing? Don't they have something called life?

"So you mean he just left?" I asked again, bewildered.

Dhruv kicked the paver step on which I sat. I shot dagger at his boot. He was a picture of an angry lion right now kicking things around growling at anyone staring at his way. At least, I knew he didn't really love attention. Now no one seemed to get in the radius of the furious tiger ready to tear them into pieces, giving that aggressive vibe. Though, I didn't blame him looking livid at this point when Faisal left with Dhruv's car without informing us.
After he was tased and fainted, Ehaan and I laid him in Dhruv's car. When he was back to conscious he got angry with us and he left us here with no means to get back, in retaliation.

In the campus news spread around causing terror of some lunatic who was going around tasing people after they found Nadia lying on the middle of the road unmoving and when she woke up the first thing she said was you know ....like she tried to expose me which people thought were the effects of delirium on getting electroshock so yeah luckily no one took her seriously. That problem solved on its own.

And now everything was kinda okay.... another problem flashed on my gazillion problems list reminding me.

My mother.

But, In order to go back home which we can't just do by walking, the earliest train we had was in the morning, so with Dhruv's car gone I didn't have any option but to stay at the hostel for the night. Which was okay in a way cause it gave me more time to have real and proper conversation with my friends. Having another perspective would be better in my life because I seemed to have a habit of making bad decisions.

Now, only left Dhruv.

"Okayyyy...I got it you are a little angry"

Dhruv shot me a murderous look.

I raised my arms in surrender, "Don't shoot the messenger please, what's the problem Biker! you can go anywhere you want! where's your black credit card? or you know big rich friendss?" I was so enjoying seeing him in misery for the first time. The arrogant king finally was put in his place.

"Or your" I quoted, "'model looks' which could get things in your way"

In reply he only stared at me blankly, as if saying what are you yapping Ms. Newton?

I flushed.

"My wallet my mobile everything was in my car" he said gravelly, probably must be thinking of some brutal way to kill Faisal.

"My my my" I said sighing then got up, "you got some real problem maybe this will be your moment of enlightenment be nice to someone and who knows you would be awarded with a help?" I patted on his big shoulder and then nodded beaming at him like a mother seeing her child ready to spread wings in this tough world.

He glared down at me.

I shrugged, his problem ascending the steps of the building. The sound of thundercloud scared the living hell out of me. I flipped my neck and found cold liquid seeping in, wetting my crop top as big rain droplets pelted on me.  I protected myself with my hands over my head, futile attempt I know.

Looks like today nature was also not with him.

He tilted his head up at the sky, I bet he was glaring at it and in response lightning cackled, I laughed joining, he narrowed his eyes at me oh god.. he appeared magnificent like his fury was causing this stormy thunderous weather and nothing could match this correctly to his personality.

Powerful and Dangerous.

"You are doing great! I am sure you gonna find a place soon with that attitude!" I mocked, it felt so good.  Honestly, I understood why he mocked so much. That feeling was another level. Maybe I should do that often.

I shook my head rushed to go inside to my room, finally away from the boys one night to myself with no tension no chaos no emotional turmoil I was bursting with excitement!

"Selena!" Dhruv called.

I froze and shook myself immediately I was hearing things it CAN'T BE POSSIBLE.

"Selena" this time he said firmly.

I turned around with my heart in my mouth.
"Serena, can I come inside?" Dhruv asked, his eyebrow raised daring and taunting me to say otherwise.
