Valentine's Day. I cannot put it in words how much I hate that day. Honestly would've loved to stay at home and just binge watch some movies, but Benito had different plans. He wanted to take me out on a fancy date which is why I was sitting at my make-up desk. Ever since I had left Puerto Rico, we hadn't seen each other again. Benito had toured through Southamerica and I had been busy on set. I had picked a nice dress and now I was struggling with the make-up - or better with my eyes; I didn't really know what I should do with them. It took me almost an hour to decide whether I should go with eyeshadow or not which was why I almost didn't get ready in time. I had curled my hair and combed to one side. Before I left, I grabbed my purse and my phone, and put on black heels. Benito was waiting outside of my door. A smile spread across my face, when I saw him. He picked me up and spinned me around, before placing a long kiss on my lips. "I missed you." he said, putting me back on my feet. "I missed you too, but do we really have to go out?" I replied, pouting a little. My boyfriend opened the car door for me, chuckling. "Yes, Hannah, we have to. I reserved the table months ago." he told me, when he got into the driver's seat.
"Did it have to be so fancy?" I questioned, when we sat down at our table. "I know, you'd prefer a diner or In N' Out, but we haven't gone on a real date yet and today is perfect for that." he answered, reaching for my hand. I let him intertwine our fingers. Slowly, I looked around. The restaurant was filled with couples. After a couple of minutes, a waiter came to our table. We ordered something to drink and then continued talking. While we were doing so, we both looked at the menu. I didn't know what to eat; everything sounded good and that made it hard for me to choose. When the waiter came back with our drinks, I decided to go with steak. After we had ordered the food, Benito reached for my hand again. "Why do you hate this day so much?" he wanted to know. "I don't hate the general idea of a day devoted to love, but I hate how commercialized it is and especially how hypocritical it is." I answered honestly. "That makes sense." he commented, nodding. "I promise, we won't go out next time." Benito then added, raising his glass. Smiling, I raised mine as well. We touched glasses and both took a sip. While we were waiting for our food, we either just talked or quietly looked at each other. The food was delicious and after eating, I was so full that I regretted wearing a tight dress. Of course, Benito insisted on ordering a desert, which consisted of a shared bowl of ice-cream. We had just finished eating, when he started to act a little strange. "Everything okay?" I asked, putting my spoon down. "Hannah, I have to ask you something." he answered, getting up from his chair. I remained sitting and stared at him in confusion. He walked over to me and grabbed one of my hands. Other guests in the restaurant started to pay attention to us which caused me to feel uncomfortable. Some of them even pulled out their phones to film us. "Benito, what are you-" I started asking, but stopped in the middle because I saw what he was doing. Benito got down on one knee and I knew exactly what was about to come next. Still, I was praying that I might be wrong and that he'd not do what I expected him to do. He slowly pulled something out of the pocket of his jacket, then he opened the little box. A incredibly beautiful ring came to my view and I gasped a little. "I know it's a little crazy considering that we haven't been together for that long, but Hannah, will you marry me?" he calmly asked, looking at me. Even though he seemed calm, I know that he was freaking out on the inside. I quickly looked around me; everyone was staring at us, even the waiters had stopped waiting tables. Completely stunned, I didn't know what to do, but one thing was sure: the people around me and, most importantly, Benito expected me to give him an answer. Since I was overwhelmed and speechless, I simply nodded. Was it crazy to get engaged after only three months of dating? It was absolutely insane but it made the both of us happy, and that was all that counted. I could see the relief in his eyes, when he put the ring on my finger. He quickly got up and kissed me passionately. The other guests around us started clapping. One of the waiters came over to our table with a bottle of champagne in his hands, when we pulled away.
Hand in hand, we walked out of the restaurant. While we were driving to my apartment, I looked at the ring. It was so beautiful and I still could not believe that now I was engaged. Maybe I was blinded by love, but ever since I had fallen for Benito, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. His hand was resting on my thigh as always, when we were in the car. Halfway on our way home, I pulled my phone out of my bag and posted a picture I had taken of the ring right after he had asked me. "For a split second, I thought you were going to say no." he said, when we pulled up in my street. "Why?" I curiously wanted to know. "You looked like you had seen a ghost, when I got down on one knee." he answered, stopping the car in front of my apartment. "I was a little surprised. Is that why you wanted to go on a date so badly?" I asked amused. "I could see that and yes, that was the reason why." he replied, smiling at me. "Wait, if you reserved the table months ago, you had planned that for quite a while." I concluded surprised. "Well, I planned to do it for the fake relationship, but now that we're a real thing, I kind of liked the idea of not faking the proposal." he explained, rubbing the back of his neck. Shaking my head, I opened the car door to get out. After stopping the engine, he followed my actions. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder while we were walking up the stairs to my apartment. As soon as we entered it, I got out of the heels that I was wearing. My phone was in my hand and to say that my friends and family were freaking out about the picture, was an understatement.

I got a notification that Benito had linked me in a picture. He had also posted something about the engagement; literally everyone was going crazy about it, including the people that knew how long we had actually been dating. Immediately when we had gotten into the car, he had taken it which is why my jacket was in it.

Two arms that wrapped around my waist from behind, made me put my phone away. Benito placed soft kisses on my neck, causing me to tilt my head. With one swift move, he turned me around to face him. Smiling, I wrapped my arms around his neck. Who would've thought I could actually start to like Valentine's Day?
